Infinity Ward teases "A new generation of Call of Duty"

Infinity Ward took to Twitter, promising a “new generation of Call of Duty” is on the way.

That's definitely good to hear. In order for that to happen they need a few years in the pipe line to innovate. Haven't touched COD since 2014 maybe in a few years the games will be great again and I'm back on board.

Not a fan of all current CoDs in general ... but I am an Infinity Ward fan since 2003.
And Modern Warfare was a breath of fresh air for me. Similar to OG CoD4:MW way back in 2007.

2019 modern warfare is one of the best fps games out there. Shame it’s riddled with bugs though lately. One of the best games for weapon sounds and animations and the campaign was solid. Multiplayer got stale eventually but gunfight is easily one of my favorite modes they ever came out with

I’m not a subscription service guy. I’d rather pay once and be done rather than having one more thing siphoning money out my bank account. But I don’t think it’s fair to say true gamers buy their games. I buy games because I do multiple play throughs, I like having a physical copy, and I like to take my time. Plus, game pass usually doesn’t have the games I want to play. My son likes game pass because he blows through a game and it’s on to the next. It doesn’t make him less of a gamer.
No I’m totally not supporting Spartacus either.

@TargusX What gives you the authority to declare what is and isn't a true gamer? Not all games are on Gamepass and I still buy the ones I want. Do you download your monthly PSNow games? If so you're not a true gamer by your own standard. I guess Sony is also into evil shallow practices since they are about to reveal their Gamepass knockoff soon. :)

Please just make one with all studios combined making and assisting on multiple modes for a single cod with a development cycle of at least 3 years. Annual cod is so overdone at this point and quality has dropped a ton. As hardware and games get bigger so does the need for budget and time. Give the devs some damn good amount of time!

When is infinity war released modern warfare 2019 they did say it was built with nextgen in mind it was the first new engine call of duty and years after using a modified quake 3 engine for years.

Anyway that might be marketing lingo. But mw2019 DID feel different and had massively improved lighting and specialfx. So .....maybeeee it's true this time

CoD seems on point ever since CoD: Modern Warfare (the remaster.) Glad it's Xbox's exclusive now. EA showing it's true colors admitting it has to rebuild 2042 lulz.

Black ops used the old engine though.

Vanguard uses the new one infinity ward one due to it being made by sledgehammer games ,which were involved with the 2019 one.

However as they were not the creators of it perhaps they did not have such grasp of it as infinity Ward do... So wasnt as polished. Still good though. In my opinion

Yup. They’re delving more into the hardcore fps space with how well games like Tarkov and Ready or Not have been doing. The new rumored coop mode with random generated hallway levels similar to Clean House mission and the supposed Tarkov inspired exfil mode that can hopefully emulate the tension and variety of gameplay Tarkov provides. If the game is to grow at all, it needs to explore these other successful titles. If any of the cod studios is going to pull it off, it’s Infinity Ward. Can’t wait for the arcade enjoyers to complain
