GT Sport is eclipsed by Forza Motorsport 7 (Metacritic 75 vs 86) and Modern Warfare is available on both systems and runs at a considerably higher resolution on X versus the Pro.

The biggest problem for Microsoft is that their install base is small. They only sold 45 million units in 7 years. Other than Halo and Gears will their new exclusives even sale enough world wide for them to have sequels?

Actually, there are still a lot of people playing on the 360 also. Whenever I play any of the old Gears games, or Call of Duty games, I always ask what system the people that I'm playing with are on, and most of the time, they're playing on the 360. B/C has definitely breathed a lot of life back into the old 360.

Next gen is going to be awesome. For both consoles we are going to be getting some true upgrades in hardware unlike PS4 and Xbox One. Not only the hardware itself but all the tech advances in general that have come out like ray tracing etc.

With Xbox stepping up with first party, this gen is going to be much more interesting and we all need that to happen.

I'll be getting both consoles as usual, but I'm waiting to see full launch lineups to decide what I'm getting first. Xbox having Halo Infinite at launch is already a pretty big draw for me. So let's see what big guns Sony is putting up for launch.

It MIGHT be the case that the XSX has more power than the PS5. It just seems that way unless Sony pull a manoeuvre on MS like they did this gen with the GDDR RAM.

I think it's safe to say that the XSX will be a lot tougher competition for PS5 than the X1 was for PS4. Sony sent going to ge the easy ride that got gifted to them this gen it seems. Unless shit goes awfully wrong...which it always can.

They may have had it easy but they did an amazing job pumping out great exclusives the entire generation. It wasn’t Sony’s fault that Microsoft made bad decisions and let’s their fan base down the entire generation.

Xbox will do better next generation but it’s not going to match PS5.

Sony worked pretty hard this gen to satisfy their fan base. They were spot on with their marketing and messaging all gen. They made a good console from the start, and despite a mid-gen upgrade, there was really no major reason to get one as the original was just fine until the end of the gen. They've made new IP's, reinvented old IP's, and overall, had more quality releases and GOTY contenders than any other generation than before.

They've had their hiccups, but Sony didn't just get lucky and while the generation was handed to them for the most part due to MS mistakes, Sony did what people expect from console makers.

This will go further for them for next gen, than MS finally getting their act together and promising a good next gen, because all MS has done this gen is not deliver. MS handing Sony an easy ride is the reason people have been upset with MS all gen, yet all gen, all we've heard is how MS will do better, and at the end of the gen, Xbox gamers are finally happy that MS will be serious competition? It baffles me that you can even support MS after the past 6 years, and surprising that you don't even realize that you are conceding that MS has sucked this gen, and you can twist that into a positive for next gen. Sony can't even get past their "arrogance" for releasing a $600 console, and MS gets a free pass for barely delivering any games?

Yet, people like you will get upset when people call out MS, and still try to act like Sony is going to have it tough.

The exclusives and world wide trademark was the difference maker. I don't think that was a easy ride. It took years for them to get the world wide appeal. The only reason the Xbox 360 was successful is because it came out one year earlier than the PS3

This is the ONLY way the power war will exist. A few pixels here and a few frames there will mean nothing anymore when Microsoft has 9 years of nothing but repetitive old game engine driven games.
9 years of producing more console hardware versions than new AAA first party games.

The small number of consumers that support Microsoft will, again, buy their 4th console hardware unit for “power” in 7 years with not one single new AAA first party game that even shows off “power”.
Now, Microsoft has put a lot of paint on old engines like forza and gears... but a pretty last gen engine only woes that small base that got duped into buying so many consoles.

It will take years to get consumers to buy into a Microsoft console and while they are waiting for Microsoft to actually provide, they will be on the ps5 enjoying a solid history of pushing out the best games all gen long.

Well it will be a decent alternative to PS5. But I think now that game pass is in full swing. I think PC gaming is going to get bigger. Buy a decent PC (you don't even have to break the bank). Pay £1 a month for PC Game pass and your sorted for Microsoft's side of things.

Money you have saved there can be spent on what ever Sony and/or Nintendo releases. That's my plan going into next gen. Unless Microsoft pull the rug out and gamepass becomes awful or something which I doubt.

This is the question that needs to be asked. If we ask what the PS5 will mean to PS costumers they will answer without any possible doubt. What will be their answer? GAMES.

If we right now make a poll of users asking which console they are going to buy this next generation, I'm dead sure that the answer will be PS5 by a long slide. Why? Because people saw HISTORY. They witnessed Sony applying the concept of "MAKE BELIEVE". Microsoft simply not delivered with the XBONE and XBONEX. Right now XBOX costumers are drawn in a sea of uncertainty and caution while PS4 costumers are BUSY playing their exclusive games.

What XBOX series X may mean for XBOX users when Microsoft dropped off the XBOX this generation and Sony is pouring Ghost of Tsushima and TLoU2 into the very end of the PS4?

What XBOX series X may mean for XBOX users when Microsoft got busy closing studios and exclusives to their consoles? Are they going to trust XBOX again after all the empty generation they had the last seven years without great exclusive games?

Yes, Microsoft has money to deliver but they are stingy with risks and investments. I know there will be better times for the XBOX series however their fan base needs to GET STRICT AND DEMAND QUALITY from Microsoft.

It seems like Microsoft still hasn’t learned that technology doesn’t sell products, utility and real world products (games) do. No one outside of Xbox fanboys care if Xbox is more / less powerful than PlayStation. That won’t increase your userbase. Xbox is the epitome of a privileged system.
