Decima is my favorite engine out there. Horizon: Zero Dawn looked stunning. Death Stranding will look even better. Lastly Horizon: Zero Dawn 2 will blow them all out of the water.

Shane Kim1800d ago

HZD 2 on ps5 will pop my eyes out of their sockets.

ClayRules20121800d ago

It’s the most impressive engine I’ve seen this generation. It showcased the closest thing to “Avatar” like quality graphics (James Cameron’s movie) in terms of the way colors just popped, the lighting in the world, the dense foliage, jungles, everything in the world is just a real thing of beauty. A stunning visual achievement.

FalconofLucis981800d ago

Uncharted 4 had better graphics

starchild1799d ago

Horizon Zero Dawn is an amazing looking game. One of the best of the generation. But Death Standing looks kind of bland to me. Not as good as Horizon.

Muzikguy1799d ago

HZD2 is going to be amazing

Unspoken1799d ago

That grass easily brings the score to an 11.

NeoGamer2321799d ago

Yup, so everyone should go buy them right now, give them automatic review 10's, and stamp GOTY on both games. Kojima is a really good developer, but to date there has not been enough gameplay or story revealed to really know what this game is about. Horizon Zero Dawn 2 we know nothing really.

I am most looking forward to the LoU2. From the gameplay shown at last year's E3 it looked awesome. Unfortunately, they didn't tell us it won't come until 2020 on new consoles but the gameplay shown took actiion adventure to the next level.

I also want to see more done with The Order 1886 engine, but yeah Decima engine is superb.

ClayRules20121799d ago

Me too. That engine is super impressive & produced incredible visuals. The Order still looks so beautiful all these years later.

Muzikguy1799d ago

I was putting together a list of games to get to before this but I'm not making any progress on them. I guess I'll just be jumping into Death Stranding when it releases

#exclusivematter! While xbxoxone and switch players are begging to play with the elite console playbase via crossplay, sony keeps killing it with exclusives that pc and xboxone gamers envy. Day 1 for me. Dont worry xboxers and pc'ers, you guys can pretend to have played this via watching some guy play it on youtube per usual. .

Abnor_Mal1800d ago

Lol, bu... bu... but the tags say PC, PS4, and XBox One.

TheOptimist1800d ago (Edited 1800d ago )

Heh.... Don't own an Xbox One, but can't relate.

There are maybe 2-4 games on PS4 that I wish were on PC- Bloodborne, Persona 5, Gravity Rush 2 and Resogun. In spite of having a Switch, PS4 and PC, I spend most of my time play PC.

And being on a budget, Doom Eternal's release date just killed everything else for me.

xX-oldboy-Xx1799d ago

DOOM Eternal over Death Stranding??? DOOM will go on sale much faster than Death Stranding, your choice mate.

DaDrunkenJester1799d ago

@oldboy

DOOM is guaranteed to be an action packed good time. Death Stranding however has a lot to prove still because the gameplay so far looks kind of bland. I'm sure the story will be far better than DOOM's though.

xX-oldboy-Xx1799d ago

DaDrunken - Won't DOOM be essentially the same game that was released not long ago? Death Stranding is a new ip - and that excites me more than a sequel to an FPS game.

DS has stealth, exploration, gunplay and fantastic visuals. The story looks interesting, I don't understand what it has to prove to justify a purchase.

Is it guaranteed to be a 10/10 - no, but what game is?

TheOptimist1799d ago (Edited 1799d ago )

@oldboy

I'll get Death Stranding next year after Q2 or Q3 anyways. I mean there is Doom Eternal, then Jan- June 2020 is packed with some of my most anticipated games of this entire gen- Ori & The Will Of the Wisp, Cyberpunk 2077, Vampire Masquerade 2 and Dying Light 2.

I don't get the hype for Death Stranding honestly, it has showed 0 gameplay apart from walking. Plus, I don't trust open world with good side quests from a non-CDPR game. The only reason I am excited for Dying Light 2 is because Chris Avellone is a co-writer.

Potnoodle9991799d ago (Edited 1799d ago )

Ugh winds me up... and I’m triggered. Ps exclusives have been incredible and the bar for quality is so far and above beyond Xbox and PC. Because they have been created by artists and innovative devs with passion. That’s most important. Passion.

Because they’re exclusive, you haven’t played them through. Because you haven’t played them through your opinion means nothing. Even if you for some reason wanted to ignore all the game of year noms and wins for these games, why can anyone take an opinion on them seriously until you play them through? But I digress... your already set in your ways. Don’t honestly know why I bothered, as I said, triggered 😂

TheOptimist1799d ago (Edited 1799d ago )

@Potnoodle

Such a huge para for proving I haven't played. The only exclusives I have yet to play are Knack 2, The Last Guardian and the few remote JRPGs.

I can't say if their western games are "filled" with passion. They feel more like extremely good products, not pieces of art like say Nier: Automata or Return of The Obra Dinn.

IamTylerDurden11799d ago

Optimist

You don't think Sony's western games are filled with passion? God of War and Uncharted 4 are as passionate as they get. In order to create best in class quality of that nature they have to be passion projects. Devs spill their life into those games and it shows with every detail.

You don't consider Sony's western games "art" but Nier Automata is? Nier Automata is an excellent game but i find it funny how often certain people name drop it now. I remember the same people not being interested when it was console exclusive, same with Hellblade. Anyway, God of War is absolutely art. A game doesn't need to have a Japanese or extreme art style to be considered art, overall. TLoU is art because of its writing, relationships, and quality. God of War is spectacular in nearly every imaginable way. The story is spectacularly told, the visuals are stunning, the color pallet is majestic, and the combat is beautiful and visceral. God of War is a western exclusive and it is unequivocally art. The one shot camera, the scenery, the performances.

TheOptimist1799d ago (Edited 1799d ago )

@Tyler

I don't get this notion of "certain people were not even interested" before a certain time frame. You can't just generalize the whole crowd like that. Now I haven't played the PS2 Drakengard games, but I absolutely adored Nier on PS3, in spite of its flaws.

As for developers putting in effort, I know devs of God of War put in effort, which I respect. But to me these games felt like they were products because they followed a set of unsaid rules of AAA video games that are set to make money more than anything else.

As for non-Japanese games that are art- Ori & The Blind Forest, Hollow Knight, Witcher 3, Deus Ex, System Shock, STALKER, Fallout, Doom (Except 3), Max Payne, the older GTAs, the older Elder Scrolls, older Thief Games etc are the best the west has made. I don't think I have played many recent good western games.

starchild1799d ago

I have a gaming PC and a PS4 Pro, so I can get any PS4 exclusive I want. But, honestly, Death Stranding doesn't look that interesting to me so far. I'm not a big fan of Kojima's games in the first place. I found MGS4 and MGS5 to both be pretty boring.

My impression of Death Standing could always change, of course, in the future. But so far it hasn't really impressed me. The PS4 exclusive I'm really looking forward to is Ghost of Tsushima.

jaycptza1799d ago

Then maybe you should stick to commenting on articles of games you're looking forward too. As apposed to commenting on things you aren't might be better use of your time and energy

HighlyDoubtful1799d ago

Imagine being so proud of not being able to afford more than one platform lmfao. You're missing out on so many games.

TheHateTheyGive1799d ago (Edited 1799d ago )

What games am i missing out on xbox? I have a pc also and i can play most games on low to med. Last gen it was worth owning an xbox because they actually had EXCLUSIVES that i could not play anywhere, this gen xbox offers nothing. This is not being able to afford an xbox, i own a decent pc. WHat does xboxone actually offer?

PlayableGamez-1799d ago

You speak as if you cant own multiple platform. Never understood the idea to envy a platform when you can easily own that platform.

Pickledpepper1799d ago (Edited 1799d ago )

Horizon zero dawn was a good game but I don't think it was great, graphics are good but not to the extreme you brag about.
And the game itself was just a clone:
Kill animals for carrying capacity upgrades=far cry 3. Climb towers to open map=far cry 3. Harvest plants for heath and weapon ammo=far cry 3. Rare collectables and audio messages=far cry 3. Helping strangers for random kill or collect missions=far cry 3. Hitting enemies in weak spots=far cry 3. Taking enemie bases undetected and disabling the alarms=far cry 3
All sounds very familiar to horizon zero dawn does it not? Apart from robots and third person.
Yes I own a ps4 and Xbox x

It looks photo realistic.

nucky641800d ago (Edited 1800d ago )

yea - this game is going to put pressure on ps5 to really bring the visuals.
edit - i'm expecting the same visual amazement from LoU2 and GoT

ClayRules20121800d ago

No doubt ND’s going to deliver a visual work of art with TLOU2. And I believe (just based on Sucker Punch’s demo with GOT that it already looked pretty remarkable, especially with the fight at the end, with the lighting and leafs blowing during that whole scene.

And PS5 will definitely allow the dev’s to amaze us even more. Which I always think we’ve hit that point where it can’t be done anymore.

Inzo1800d ago

This game is going to be epic.

Thundercat771800d ago

The article has a typo in the subject and incorrect tags.

The game had not been announced for PC or Xbox and yet it has the tags.
