‘Sea Of Thieves’ Beta Launch Hits Some Rough Waters But Races To Top Of Twitch

INQ: The highly anticipated Sea of Thieves closed beta launched Wednesday morning for the Xbox One and Windows 10 PCs. The co-op action adventure title unfurled its sails and rocketed to the top of Twitch viewers. However, it has not been completely smooth sailing as some players are still attempting to get into Rare's latest.

Crossplay with PC works smooth AF. Had two randoms who were on PC and voice chat and everything was working well.

The game is great fun with friends and randoms if you have voice chat.

From the little bit I played the foundation of the world is there, I feel like this game will have endless possibilities with the content they could add. I just hope people give it an honest review and not look at the name MS on the box and just assume it can't be a great game.

Windows PC is Xbox One´s brother. They´re family since Windows 10 is their mother and Microsoft is their father. :)

I personally feel it's their most compelling game announced right now. I've liked all the developer updates, and appreciate that they have shown a nice steady progress to what they're building, with the occassional huge leap over what was shown before.

I think what I'm most interested in, despite not being a big fan of MP games, is what you do for the bulk of the game. The nature of the MP was still up in the air, as the devs haven't spoken as much about it. I'm interested in something interesting, and that's what I've been watching for the most so far.

I agree. Having compelling things to do for all the types of gamers that will attempt to get something out of this game is important. The SP gamer, the co op gamer, the MP gamer...the explorer...the collector etc. I know the Beta doesn't have everything planned in it, but it will be interesting to see how Rare tackles it all.

Really bummed the open beta has less content than the closed Alpha. I know they said they are keeping some stuff a surprise, but why take away content already in the Alpha?

Anyway, game is still a blast tho and will become one of those games groups are going to be streaming for a very long time.

they have added the sniper and spyglass though. spyglass is a game changer for me so much easier to hunt down other ships

They already did that with Forza Horizon 3. 91 on Meta, Racer of the Year 2016 and the highest selling racer of the generation.

You wish. Forza Horizon 3 is the most popular racing game of this generation and sold more than 3 milion retail copies on Xbox One. Let alone the PC version. It´s a 2016 game and right now it´s still outselling both Gran Turismo Sport and Forza Motorsport 7 in UK.

You maybe thinking of Forza Motorsport 7 (Racer of the Year 2017)? I said Forza Horizon 3. It's a title that's been wildly popular and in the top 10 on the charts even a year after release.

I find myself more interested in the interest of this game than in the game itself. But I really hope this game does well, it could boost the whole brand. It seems like the perfect way to sell One S and the sub service to new buyers that might be coming in with lower budget or more casual experiences. It's perfect timing and that's finally coming the Xbox can take advantage of. It's starting to feel like they're getting off their heals.
