It was certainly a treat to the eyes. The Idris capital ship looks amazing. It's like Wolfenstein II levels of quality, except it's an actual ship floating through space. Their space stuff looks absolutely mindblowing.

Characters range from amazing to looking a little strange, depending on lighting conditions (lighting is very important). Animation and performance detail is unmatched though. The nuance in their performance is staggering.

You do know the public alpha just got released right? Which was the biggest hurdle in the games development. They are now going to have quarterly releases of content and the base content of the game is now present. It is no longer a tech demo like it has been for the last couple of years. It's finally starting to take form.

It isn't going to run on a console. Right now, we can see they're already struggling with what are most likely CPU and memory issues, on a very high end PC. That's not surprising, given the amount of things they're simulating at any time, and at that scale.

If it was GPU bound, there might have been a case for making it run, atleast on XOne X or PS4 Pro.

Ridiculous. SC is a MMO and a AAA singleplayer in 1 package, and it's tech is a decade ahead of what your seeing in other AAA games.

Idk where you got 5 years from, it's pretty sad seeing you exaggerate like that to try to feel better about not getting it on your ps4, but even if it DID take that long, it's competition would be an invisible hallway, much less a simulated MMO universe.

Btw Development of Star Citizen began in 2011 and was originally planned for a release in 2014, and again in 2016 As of 2017, there is no official release date. this games funding has reached 175 mil. can someone explain this to me? there is no way this game is close to being released and overall cost will continue to rise. so, how can they really be making a game to sell when there is no way they'll ever be able to make a profit.

I watched the whole thing.

Movies and games could reach a common ground on games like this. Here the grand advance is the concept of scale and mystery. Graphics, ships, weapons and game play are what you expect to be.

The game excels in something I call real time mission flow. The maps, the intuitive GUI and the game play is completely an immersible work of art. It gives you new emotions playing a game of this nature.

There are no backgrounds, what you see is literally what you get. Every place could potentially be reachable and explored or simply play your classical linear sequence of goals.

This is not a game. It is a new genre on its own right that has its own set of rules and time flows. It needs a lot of polishing but the result at this point is simply outstanding. The scale of it is monumental. For five years of development it really needs a good tune up. There are lots of bugs and unstable instances. I think we need to be patient but they better fix the robustness of the experience or the whole thing will fall appart.

At this point we need to wait and see. This crowdfunded game project turned serious. I was skeptical until I saw this. If missions are diverse with these themes, please by all means send me back to PLAID as much as you want Roberts.

Really good looking but wow so boring, it was lacking any sense of excitement or artistry in a creative way just a pretty yet dull preview. I couldn't finish it, it didn't pull me in in any way. Games have come a long way in storytellling and direction and this felt like paint by numbers game design.
