Check out some Zelda: Breath of the Wild Switch vs. Wii U screenshot comparisons based on the same exact areas in the game.
Some big first-party Switch games are currently on sale, including Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, and more.
Nintendo Everything pinpoints the new things that Zelda: Breath of the Wild brought to the table and how it inspired other developers.
I love Breath of the Wild, but stop saying it invented the wheel. Open world games existed before that so I am pretty sure none of those game were influenced by it. Hell Pokemon Legends Arceus is technically more similar to Monster Hunter than an open world game.
Let’s be honest for a wii u game botw is great. If inspiration is taken from it then great.
Hey..another opinion piece from a website with the word Nintendo in its name about how Zelda Botw influenced other games ..lel.
Look i love breath of the wild as much as the next guy but honestly ur acting like it changed the game or something.
It didnt it was an amazingly crafted open world game, that its.
Tgat fact tgatva few games steal certain things from it doesnt make it more special. Devs steal things from other games literally the time.
So are we gonna have posts about how a crummy game with nice feature influenced all gamers after it just vecause a few things were taken from it by another dev.
Its weird to say this about such an amazing game but its literally overrated at this point.
Something like gta deserves these articles gta and red dead are exemplary examples on how to do open world and the added bonus of them basically starting the trend and perfecting it
A few years after Zelda: Breath of the Wild's release, Nintendo Everything looks back on the Champions' Ballad DLC.
Looks a lot nicer on the switch but wii u looks to be a fine way to play it.
Draw distance on Switch is amazingly detailed.
Getting this game on the Wii U emulator.
And I will buy a copy to support Nintendo.
The Wii U is too dead for me to care the platform and Switch is too young for me to care about the platform.
Draw distance is clearly better, also according to reggie it will have less "poppins". But these screen shots make for difficult comparisons as they are different times of day.
These are hardly true side-by-sides. They are taken at different angles (so the light reflects off water on the Switch screen, and not the Wii U), different times of day (showcasing better lighting on Switch), and slightly different locales (showcasing better geometry on Switch). Kinda suspicious that small variations in angle, time, locale all favor the Switch, I think. Nintendo Defense Force in action again?
I'm gonna have to wait for the Eurogamer comparison. TBH, I only expect the resolution and texture quality to be different. The Wii U is no slouch when it comes to shading compute power (at least in comparison to the Tegra X1), so with the rez (900p vs 720p) and textures (remove the top miplevel on Wii U) knocked down, it should be easily able to compete in other aspects with a docked Switch. Undocked Switch vs the Wii U should end up in the Wii U's favor every time, albeit not by too much, which is a feat for a mobile.
