DLConspiracy2911d ago

How long are the shows usually? I thought they were about that long. Seems like they should have enough material at least.

DopeTech2911d ago

Yeah they always last 90 minutes and Sony's Press conference will last 90 minutes just like Microsoft's.

WeAreLegion2911d ago

I thought Sony went 2 hours.

sammarshall1022911d ago

Sony's usually last 2 hours with more filler and they'll have VR there this year

OC_MurphysLaw2911d ago

I think Sony typically has been 2hrs and also almost always late to start for some reason.

iTechHeads2911d ago

Microsoft is limited to 90 minutes because they are broadcasting live on Spike TV.
Sony has no such limitation which is why their conferences usually cross the 2-hour mark.

Nintendo's conferences are 0-minutes long. They don't hold press conferences anymore.

Gasian2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

@WeAreLegion Last year Sony's conference was 90 minutes. They have been trying to make the E3 presentations 90 minutes for the past couple of years, it seems. They use to be 2 hours though.

ToxicSushi2911d ago

Sony needs 2hr's to include that awesome exclusive Powers tv show. /s

iTechHeads2911d ago

Sony really does have more to show.

XanderZane2909d ago

Are they really going to talk about the 2nd season? I haven't even watched the first season yet. It's FREE for PSPlus members. Sony's Tokyo Game Show Conference was better then the PS Experience last year. I even liked it a bit more then the E3. I'm sure they will have lots to show as usual.

rainslacker2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

They're typically 90 minutes. Occasionally(or often) they're 2 hours from Sony. 90 minutes usually runs long by about 10 minutes or so for all the conferences. Some of the publisher conferences are only 60 minutes.

KiwiViper852911d ago

I usually watch sonys conference on youtube, that way I can skip the boring parts.

Takes about 30mins of my time...

rainslacker2911d ago

I could say the same about most conferences. They often go into games that I'm not interested in, like COD or something. I prefer to watch them though to see what's going on, because there is more to gaming to me than just what games they announce.

christocolus2911d ago

Nice. I can't believe E3 is here already. It's just 3 weeks away now. Dayuum. Can't wait to see Recore, Halo wars 2 and Sot.

Paytaa2911d ago

One of my favorite times of the year. Really interested in what type of game ReCore is and definitely hope to see some new IP. Halo Wars 2 and Gears 4 will have great showings.

Love having Xbox early in the day and having Playstation at the end of the day. Both usually tend to have the best conferences.

Honestly considering taking off work for the first day of E3. I get way too hyped lmao

christocolus2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

Regarding Recore, the devs claim to have drawn a lot of inspiration from Zelda, metroid and a few others. They also talked about the weather system and how it would affect the environments in realtime. From the looks of it,I feel It's going to be a full 3d adventure game with a unique gameplay style.

annoyedgamer2911d ago

Recore is like a poor mans Kameo with robots. They should have given us a sequel to Kameo instead.

Ipunchbabiesforfun2911d ago

Yeah I usually take vacation days too so I can watch videos on my computer...you know that or use those for actual vacations to cool places.

Paytaa2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

@Ipunchbabiesforfun or you know it wouldn't affect me at all since I work like 55-60 hours a week. The time would be made up regardless.

Plan on going to Canada this summer so I will be going to "cool places" as well.

Plus why not take time off to enjoy something I'm very passionate about? Do you know how many people take off work or school to play a new game or see a new movie?

Automatic792911d ago

@Paytaa for years I took off on E3 Monday one of my favorite days of the year. This year I am lucky my company is off. Can't wait. Enjoy your day off for one of the best days of the year.

Yui_Suzumiya2910d ago

Yeah, E3 is like Christmas to me! Can't wait to see all the new goodies I'll be enjoying in the near future :3

bouzebbal2910d ago

Christo

Unique gameplay style like quantum Break? Crazy how you hype everything xbox related.. Hilarious 😂

Eonjay2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

Time goes by way too fast. Seems like just yesterday we were getting ready for E3 2015. I think it seems to swing around quicker because we have more confernces as well. In the past it was just E3 and CES and TGS
->Then GameCom
->Now PGW, PAX, GDC and PSX
So maybe its just with so many more shows, the wait overall between show is much smaller.

christocolus2911d ago

I guess so. I can't believe a whole year has gone by. I still remember all the major announcements made at the last E3 conference.it just seems like yesterday. wow.

Yui_Suzumiya2910d ago

You're right. This past year went by really damn fast. Feels like just last week I was watching Bethesda showcase Doom gameplay for the first time but in reality I finished it last week :3

HaydenJameSmith2911d ago

I know, right. It really is gamer christmas and I love just watching the conferences live with a bunch of friends every year. Recore, Crackdown and SoT are definetly among my most anticipated to see.

christocolus2911d ago

“Gamer Christmas” couldn't agree more. Best time of the year for gamers worlwide. Lol. I took a day off work last year. I don't know if I'll be able to do same this time around. Would be fun watching with my friends though.

rainslacker2911d ago

Last year we watched it at work since most everyone there is a gamer and everyone that wasn't going to the show that week was asking for Monday off anyways. Company paid for a nice party with food and we played games between different conferences or streamed events. Was a lot of fun. We didn't stay late for the Sony conference which started at 9pm for us, but I did go to the E3 experience with some of the people from work, which was also fun.

Automatic792911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

I love the games announced already just on early hype, I can't wait to see footage. What really excites me is the new announces. Those always have a special place for me. There is something about new announcements that shows commitment and longevity. So far since launch Xbox One has been consistent. I have always said it all need is four excellent exclusives titles a year and the rest are optional treats. Team Xbox knock them out the park with another great show.

Zeref2911d ago

don't forget scaleBounde

sammarshall1022911d ago

I can see Gears 4, Recore, Scalebound, Crackdown 3, and Sea of Thieves all being standouts at E3

ABizzel12911d ago

Allegedly there's also suppose to be 2 new XBO's coming.

A cheaper XBO slim with a 2TB HDD (silly to me, just make it 1TB to save on pricing even more), for $199 - $249, releasing this holiday season to help boost sales. And a more powerful XBO to help make up performance differences in newer releases that's supposed to launch in 2017 to avoid the PS4k, and take on the NX instead.

Exclusives:

Confirmed: Gears 4, Recore, Sea of Thieves, Crackdown, Halo Wars 2, Scalebound, Indies
New / Re-announce: Forza Horizon 3, Ion, Indies, Phantom Dust, More Backwards compatibility
Trailers: Halo 6,

Megatons:

XBO becomes unified with PC aka practically a SteamMachine:
More and more XBO games are making their way to PC, even if they're cut down versions. This is testing the waters to see if there is an area of opportunity for unification. There is already talk about being more open with XBL so PC and XBO players can play with one another, their exclusive games are popping up on PC at an alarming rate, and honestly it just makes sense from a business standpoint.

Oculus Support:
The current and slim XBO only use Oculus as a viewer, the new XBO can use full VR functions in some games that receive patched 1080p @ 60fps support.

Minecraft 2 exclusive to Xbox and Windows:
It's been 5 years since the originals release, a bigger and better version should be about ready and MS wants that $2.5 billion investment back.

Sic_Parvis_Magna2911d ago

I have a feeling this year is going to be an even bigger disappointment than last year for Microsoft.

DopeTech2911d ago

Take your trash elsewhere, please.

ScorpiusX2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

I have a feeling you are going to be wrong......................lol

sammarshall1022911d ago

Last year was amazing and so will this year's E3

Deadpooled2910d ago

Hopefully no bullshit camera trickery and "played on a beefed up developer pc on two gtx titans which would never be like that on the actual console" gameplay from both camps. I remember seeing hololens from that MS conference last year and thinking how unbelievably epic that was, then a month later found out it was camera trickery bullshit and was so disappointed.

wutang4ever2911d ago (Edited 2911d ago )

I think Sic is right on this one. I Predict MS will talk about the unification of PC and console gaming, and thus will be a disappointment. All xbox exclusive games will be going to PC.

Based on past history, MS live on PC was a failure. I also predict that Windows 10 gaming will also fall short and eventually Fail.

Xbox President Sarah Bond's Bloomberg Interview Is Corporate Fakery At Its Best

Saad from eXputer: "After Arkane Austin & Tango were shutdown, Xbox President Sarah Bond spoke with Bloomberg in what I believe to be utter corporate fakery."

gold_drake11h ago

im not really surprised by that, shes always been more a "let me talk about something else than what u want to know" kinda gal

Cacabunga3h ago

If what they are doing is that good, what’s the point of hiding the true story?

anast8h ago

She's a caricature of the shareholders.

PRIMORDUS6h ago

"Shareholders" I call them cancer, they are already rich to begin with but need more and more. It's like a disease, with no cure.

Leeroyw3h ago

I own shares in game companies. I'm not anything near a major share holder. I just want them to make good games and be successful because of that. I think it's the senior management that's the problem. They are the ones that should be making it clear to the shareholders what creates growth and ensures a future of their business. Not this weasle words garbage that she did on the interview. It was horrific. I don't know a shareholder that would be happy with any of them for this.

Profchaos2h ago(Edited 2h ago)

Same and I'm not rich by any stretch like most people's I'm just trying to keep my head above water these days most company's shareholders are made up of everyday people it's amazing how companies think we want something but the reality is we don't.

Disney are probably the worse at the moment it's shareholders voted on ending a lot of the crap and outing the current execs the execs turned around and said no we disagree with the shareholder vote

CrimsonWing697h ago

Yea, it was and it’s insulting that they think we’re dumb enough to fall for this. Look, the truth was you took a gamble on these studios and while they released some games to critical praise and great reception they just aren’t bringing in a ROI. Be transparent, you’re not a politician.

Just tell everyone you spend money on projects big and small and when money isn’t being made you go over the potential of revenue a studio can bring in vs those that can’t and make the hard decision to chop them.

She says this whole thing about “success” doesn’t fit one meaning for each studio. Well yea, a small budget production isn’t going to expect to sell the same as a large budget production.

One thing I wish they did though was let Tango be an independent studio.

TheGamingHounds7h ago

disheartening to see no regard for the human cost of business anymore
the bad decisions and judgements of these CEOs severely impact the frontliners
these fake responses are just salt on wounds

RoadRacer7h ago

imagine havin the audacity to say "we need more games like hifi rush" right after closing the studio that made it lol
followin up with this show of "deflecting every question" was in poor taste

Alot’s changed in 25 years. We have games with $300 mill budgets, people not interested in games other than Fortnite and Minecraft, the older generation of gamers giving up the hobby or dying off, a period of super bad inflation where the industry decided to hike up prices on games, Gamepass harming game sales, GaaS games being pushed left and right with obnoxious monetization and worse looking/playing (Suicide Squad vs Arkham Knight).

The industry is just shite right now. Games ain’t selling, games cost massive amounts, businesses can’t bleed money and this is what happens. Part of it is on them and part of it is on consumers not buying.
