Survival horror games are great and all, but sometimes it's nice to just ditch the tension and go back to the tried-and-true method of cracking some skulls. Artist Juniorbunny put his considerable talents on display in a recent piece, rendering a scene from the original Resident Evil in stunning 16-bit glory.

Funny enough, Capcom used a ton of unconventional exploration and an adventure-style inventory system in their D&D beat 'em ups that would work so well for a game like this. I know it'll never happen, but it would be freaking epic.

Never say it would be easy to make. Yes -Maybe- a team of devs could cook up a 2D beat em up with survival horror elements, but if Capcom wouldn't be doing things like inserting mandates for additional elements -say online multiplayer- then they'd demand it to be release by a set date on top of other demands.

Resident Evil Gaiden was a 2d side scrolling piece of es. guess this would be a bit different. I do love me some golden axe, streets of rage, tmnt, etc.

All this guy did was steal the open bor game for his idea. I've already played them called crisis evil 1,2,3.
I play open bor all the time and there are some awesome creations that destroy even streets of rage and final fight like world heroes supreme justice,marvel first alliance 2,king of fighters,fighters history revenge,etc.even better versions of sor and ff.too many good ones to count.

I watched the video you shared and it's painfully obvious the Chris and Jill sprites are entirely different from the ones showcased in the screenshot this piece discusses.
