Well... they used to design their own chips. Emotion Engine, Cell, RSX... when they switched to using X86 based chips is now more akin to low-mid cost PCs than before. It may not look like a PC but it pretty much is one. I'd bet it could do productivity stuff just fine if they allowed it to.

There are countless custom pc gaming rigs out there, and I bet none of them took an SSD-centric approach to their design, like the ps5 did.
I can see where he’s coming from re ps5 not just being a box with parts like a pc. They must also spend an awful lot on r & d just to design the thing so it has aesthetic appeal and typical Japanese with some sort of Philosopy behind the design. Would also think other factors around the custom airflow and the like would cost a lot given that it’s not a standard box shape

2:1 is not really a surprise. Both consoles are doing well its just that PS4 is in another league in terms of sales. I just hope Nintendo can wow us with the NX when E3 arrives
As long as console gaming stays relevant is all I care about. It's not a bad thing that one sells more or less than another if it's still a great product. Both the Xbox One and PS4 are worth the money.
I'm glad I own both. Too many good games coming out on both consoles and I don't want to get left behind.
What if Sony would have bought Titanfall, Dead Rising 3, and Tomb Raider exclusivity? What if Sony bought Gears of War? What if Sony released their epic 2013 PS3 games as PS4 launch games? What if Microsoft was bought out by Rovio?
This article grasps some straws BUT I will admit this 18 million number is certainly possible
