I think people hated on it because it was popular to hate on it, and the fact that the game changed quite a bit. I believe the whole, don't betray your fans too much is absolutely true.

Taken by itself Gears of War: Judgment was a fantastic game and loads of fun. The controls are less cluncky, and faster pace.

Apart from Mass Effect, Gears of War is the other series that I love and I mean LOVE!

So yeah, bring on the Gears of War collection with ALL games on one package!!! :D

I like gears but unless the collection has been remastered like Hal anniversary is 1080p 60fps and redone on unreal engine 4 I'm not gonna pick it up. Don't need a poor generic remaster like Last of Us. If it does turn out to be something special ill buy it.

Please...go on PSN, look at PS2 classics. Go on XBL...look at XB originals, XBLA etc.

We got tons of ports last gen, just like we will this gen, just like we've get YEARS prior.

This is the nature of gaming, every gen will be a gen of "ports" as its the natural way of gaming and business.

It may seem that way, but rereleases are nothing new. Look at Resident Evil 2 and 3 on the Gamecube, the dozens upon dozens of rereleases of just about every Final Fantasy title across numerous consoles (oh cool, FFVII for the billionth time...), Conker's Bad Fur Day from N64 to Xbox (Live & Reloaded), a bunch of Mega Man games and Mario games (Mario 64 on the DS for example), just about every Pokemon title is a remake these days (red/blue became firered/leafgreen, silver/gold became heartgold/soulsilver, etc).

This whole rerelease/remake business is nothing new, we just notice it a lot more now because gaming has become insanely popular compared to 10-20 years ago. I just wish devs would do actual REMAKES and not just a resolution bump. Games like the Resident Evil 1 remake for the Gamecube (and, kind of ironically, HD ported to current/next gen just recently) and Metal Gear: Twin Snakes were true remakes in that the remake was built from the ground up and not just an alteration of the original source code.

I'd love if they could somehow make the first 2 games 4 player co-op, but I understand that it wouldn't work within the story, and that the levels were never designed or balanced for 4 players, either.

Learn to read, I said I'd buy it for Gears 3 alone, meaning the entire game and everything that comes with it (MP, horde, co-op campaign) not just for horde mode.

And anyway, I think of my purchases when it comes to games in terms of how much time & enjoyment I'm going to get out of them. Even if I was only planning to play the horde mode, I'd still pay full price for it because I know I'd be getting my money's worth.

Next year is the 10 year anniversary of gears 1. so that could be a good time, but Gears 5 is supposed to come out in 2016 as well, do they want both in the same year? I'm really hoping for an E3 reveal with a release shortly after like August/September of this year.

Gears 4 was not coming out this year it made sense to release a gears game this year, too many people are still using the 360 and will not switch over.

you say that but look how many deves only port 1 game. Saints Row 4 port rather than 4 Saints Row games, DmC and DMC4 being separate releases and with no DMC 1, 2 or 3 etc. if the dev isn't going to port it as a box set i'd rather it not get ported. its plain lazy and greedy.

lol, agreed. Its ok, I've tried telling folks on N4G this, they legit feel a those numbers mean the game will look good.

Never mind engine, never mind quality, never mind effects etc....just those 2 numbers.

If you tell them you have an engine that looks like damn near real life....they will ask of those 2 numbers and state it doesn't because its not running those 2 numbers.

You could sell em a PC and only state those 2 numbers and they would be slow enough to buy it thinking it will produce magic.

To them....they believe HL1 in 1080p 60fps looks better then Crysis in 720p 30fps.

N4G has some of the slowest gamers I've seen in a while.....

Most don't even get that those numbers don't really have that much to do with quality, in fact quality is lessor in titles that are 60fps based on the effects needed to be turned off to achieve it...

But...thats the type of logic PC gamers have.

AAA shooters of this magnitude are too rare to get released in the shadow of their other huge shooter brand Halo.
They will be keeping this ace in their sleeve and show it later.
Especially since Black Tusk doesn't seem to be that far ahead with their new Gears.

Something that could work well would be to drop it opposite Uncharted 4 in Spring 2016, but I think it's more likely that they'll give it a holiday release like the Halo Collection.

I'm the first one to not approve remasters or HD remakes but a Gears trilogy just makes sense. The multiplayer to this day holds true.

It would be worth it alone to get on some maps from part 2 which I missed out on.

It's very possible that part of the deal of buying Gears from EPIC was for them to remaster the games into a collection package. Makes sense as EPIC hasn't released a game in a long time. Would be interesting and best case scenario to have the same company that developed the game perform the remaster.

So, who knows the collection maybe close to being done and ready for this holiday. With the issues 343 has had recently maybe Halo 5 will get more time to cook and not be ready for this holiday. Maybe this is a filler.

Gears 1 can be played at 60fps on PC with a fairly crappy rig. If anything they could be able to render the gears games in 1080p per eye 3D at 60fps on xbone but theyre probably just gonna give them higher rez and the xboners will still give a left nut to be a hulking 400 lb space bro again because of how little they lift weights and appeal to women in real life.

Sleeping dogs received alot of improvement, saints row and dead or alive 5 are the two worst offenders thus far for paltry upgrades. And even then dead or alive supercedes saints row in quality.

Gears doesn't need much work imo, none of them do, hell look at the devil may cry redux as it were, just like that would be perfect.

Makes sense. I played the first 3 to death and although Judgment IMO damaged the brand as it was mostly unnecessary, it did have some good ideas (mostly in the controller set-up and its MP modes).

I would be up for getting this (depending on the price).
