Halo Wars Screenshots Revealed

Halo Wars is set in 2531, prior to the events of Halo: Combat Evolved which is set in 2552. It follows the story of the UNSC's discovery of a Forerunner artifact and the first battles with the Covenant after the fall of the first planet, Harvest, to the Covenant. It will allow the player to control the crew and vehicles of a UNSC ship, CFV-88 Spirit of Fire, and receive instructions and commands from its AI Serina.

that hovering aircraft looks awesome, but i didn't see any of that on Halo 3. It would have been awesome....

It looks like a combination of a Hornet and something else. Maybe it's a single manned Hornet... i don't know, but i'm guessing that it would have been awesome to have that craft in H3, maybe bungie could collaborate with these developers and make an update with some new DLC.

I think it would be awesome, a direct competitor to the Covenant Banshee. I think i might go to Bungie.com and make a suggestion....

Actually the graphics look amazing, it's just that they're a bird's eye view for the most part because it's a strategy game.

I love Halo, but I don't think I'll get this one just because RTS games aren't my thing.

He said for those that don't have a 360 or "Hate" the 360 to get out.

He didn't say everyone else get out, just the "haters".

But these haters are making it hard to enjoy and Pro 360 related news. For the past week, i've gone into 360 related game posts, and when i decide i want to comment on the game; the first 10-20 comments are about how bad the game is or how better another game for a different system (that's not released yet) is going to be than this game.

It made me avoid this site for quite some time.

But i did notice the other day, there was a post for KZ2 and direct feed gameplay vids. I checked it out and the game looks good, but when i checked out the comment section to see what people are saying about the game, i saw nothing but positive comments, and nothing from the regular 360 fanboys. The only negatives i saw were from normally neutral gamers sharing their concerns about gameplay. But overall the post was great, no flaming or anything, and all i could say to myself is that i wish the 360 posts can get that same level of respect.

Didn't mean to get off topic, but i understand his frustration; but i don't think he was addressing everyone-else, just the haters....

The game looks good, i've never really given RTS's much attention, but if the gameplay mechanics turn out to be good, i might just give this one a shot. I enjoy the Halo series very much, i even baught all those books, which were great by the way, and i've played the whole series. I can't wait to see what's next, possibly Marathon..... No body knows.....

He is not phrasing it correctly then by saying "anyone without a 360" refers to any person who doesn't own a 360 regardless if they like or dislike the 360. I dont have a 360 but appreciate looking at the good games that have come out in the past and are to come in the future. I am able to enjoy some of the games with friends who do own a 360. I also know that there are other gamers who do come in here to say negative things just cause but it happens both ways. I am not one to say negative things for no reason, if I am not into game I simply wont read the article cause there would be nothing interesting for me to read while others do tend to comment on games they dont like just to annoy those that do. That wont change but at least we can try to sepperate the crowds. His comment just seemed directed to people like me and I have read his past comments before and he is anti Sony so it kind of reflects his hate towards the PS3 crowd regardless. He then is no better then those he talks bad about. I understand also what you mean about those comments made from the PS3 crowd and sometimes while it doesnt offend my preference I can see why the 360 crowd would do the same back but it gets annoying to see the first person to start the flaming in the comment section and the argue about the other crown doing it.
BTW I think Halo Wars is a perfect add to the Halo universe, I am very interested in seeing how this game turns out, so far it has great potential from what we have seen so far. I dont think we have many of great games like these. Being familiar with the Halo characters, battle fields, crafts is going to allow people to feel familiar with the game and enjoy it that much more even though its new to the Halo games, no longer a FPS. I do understand about his previous posts, but i think it was too easy assuming that he was targeting the PS3 crowd in his frustration. I think he was generally talking about all "360 Haters". Like i stated before, it does get frustrating when your stoked about a game, and then someone who is not the least interested in the game comes along just to trash it.

But it does seem like it's getting better on this site. I was checkin out the latest Gears post, and even though there were some blatantly obvious haters on there, they weren't backed up by the usual crowd.

PS3 games stay on their genre. Halo got to Halo Wars is the same thing as Mario going to Mario Party. There isn't a Gran Turismo adventure, or Final Fantasy bowling, or Metal Gear Dance, or Ridge Racer whatever. Changing genres is exploiting the name of the game just for sales. They could have easily made a game that was RTS that didn't take place in the Halo Universe.

According to the developer, this game will never make the leap to the PC. The control scheme is so oriented to a console controller that it won't play well using the keyboard/mouse paradigm. It is 100% designed for the 360.
