A post apocalyptic Disney Land would be awesome, now that you mention it.
Yeah, the trailer tells us very little about what to expect beyond the surface. Unless you're a fan of the direction SE has taken Final Fantasy thus far, I see no reason to give them the benefit of the doubt at this point.
Another 'f*** you' to the fans, from SE. It takes a special kind of incompetence to run a series like Final Fantasy into the ground. There weren't even outside forces contributing to the decline of FF, it was entirely SE, forcing crap nobody asked for down fan's throats, trying to fix what was never broken.
I've seen this before, and the effect is amazing, but isn't the problem with it that it only works for one person at a time?
The thing is, no one has to deal with it. Microsoft isn't the only game in town. I like supporting companies that listen to consumer feedback, as opposed to ones that say "Don't like it? Too bad. Deal with it".
I agree. Right down to Hayter saying he sat down to lunch with someone 'involved in the production' who said he wouldn't be needed, without any explanation as to why. I have a hard time believing they would get together for lunch specifically to discuss the matter, only to say "you're out", with no explanation whatsoever, and leave it at that. Not only would that be weird, but disrespectful to Hayter, who's been Solid Snake for 15 years.
zeal0us - True. It's also likely to turn otherwise honest paying customers to opt for a pirated copy instead. I just can't imagine this kind of DRM doing anything other than damaging a company's reputation, and making pirated games seem more attractive .
Well, an HD remake and repackaging the original are two distinctly different things. Not to mention SE is rereleasing the flawed PC version, 15 years later, with those same flaws that crippled the original. Which begs the question: Why even bother? Answer: A cash grab.
You're correct, people have been begging for more FFVII (among other things), and SE has ignored them to their detriment for many years. Now that they finally do throw us a bone, they manage to find one of ...
I agree. What I used to love most about Japanese games and their stories, was how they broke the mold and surprised me with things I never expected from a video game.
The Japanese fearless, unorthodox approach to games was their greatest asset. I'd much prefer it if the Japanese developers would completely ignore what western developers are doing, and go back to making games their own way.
Perhaps SE should try utilizing the current generation before looking to the next. Excuse, after excuse, after excuse, from a company that no longer delivers. Someone with vision deserves a chance to bring Square back to greatness.
I just wholeheartedly disagree, I can't fathom how anyone could describe the voice acting from X as anything but bad. I understand many feel otherwise, but I just don't get it. Forget the laughing scene, it's just bad regardless.
Granted, the awful dialogue and awkward animations are a big part of it, but listening to the characters make those weird grunts and moans with their irritating voices, and Tidus saying "huh?" over and over... It just killed the...
I disagree, I think X is where they went wrong. God awful voice acting and character animations, and far too linear for my taste. I just don't think the technology and voice acting were up to snuff to effectively deliver the Final Fantasy experience.
Nice try, Jay.
Sony pls.
IX was the last great FF in my opinion too. I enjoyed some aspects of X, but it just lacked the Final Fantasy feel I'd grown to love. I particularly disliked the god awful voice acting, it was just cringe worthy; with a weak script to boot.
I loved the dialogue bubbles and pre-rendered painting-esque backdrops of VII,VIII and IX. It just gave them an epic, story book like feel, that I didn't get from X. You didn't have to worry about stiff, awkward voice acting r...
DK286k,
I certainly hope you're at least getting paid to be such a shill for MS. Otherwise it's very strange.
I agree 1nsomniac; while anything's possible, I can't imagine MS so severely limiting their market.
"What's your beef with this guy, Phelps?"
Because the game is multiplatform. The article and more specifically this thread, is regarding the PS3 version needing this patch the most. Moreover, it's obvious to anyone with half a brain that that's what op was referring to, as the other versions don't have this problem.
So there's no reason for you to point out that you aren't having issues on the PC version, given the fact that no one said the PC version has this problem, and again, that's clear...
I am thankful for lamp.
