I've seen a recent DF video where they all agreed on that only in rare occasions current gen console games are held back by the CPU.
In this video I am kinda hearing the opposite from them. The difference between Xbox SX and PS5 in TFs was a big topic back then at DF. Now a threefold increase is negliable.
Don't get me wrong, I like DF. But sometimes you have to read between the lines.
Let's wait and see. Currently I am planning to up...
Maybe it is because of increased capabilities for the player due to technological advancements?
In the "old" times you knew what is possible and what not.
That mountain range? Yeah, that's the border of the level. You've tried to climb it, failed and kept going elsewhere. Maybe you could glitch atop but there was nothing worthy your time.
Now every corner of a map could contain a secret, a mission, a unique piece of equipment etc.

@darth:
"Race mode lacks RT unlike this game"
... at 30 fps and not 60 fps
It's great that the players can choose which mode they prefer, but shouldn't you compare the 60 fps modes?
Mine is ordered and confirmed :)
As mentioned before: They took away The Elder Scrolls from PS. Of course I am sad about that as it is one of my favorite IPs, but it is their right to do so! They've bought it!
But telling gamers that this isn't what they try to do with COD sounds fishy to say the least. Of course not while a big chunk of money is generated by PS gamers. I would do the following: take the cash now and upon a new generation of consoles, spin the tale that it is neccesary for your business to ...
Over 100000 preorders and sold out in an hour....
Can't understand the downvotes for @TheDoomedGuy...
I've been dissapointed in the change of direction and the exclusion of PS back in the day but played it on PC.
Great game, glad more people get to know Alan Wake.
Cyberpunk is so buggy that it is messing with time and space? Oo
"Fixed issues with time and space resulting from leaving the quest area or abandoning the quest in Following the River."
According to Digital Foundry it does.
I'll check it on Dec. 1st
I've upvoted because I think some didn't get that pun...
And I had to smirk a little even if it wasn't an intentional pun by Killer73nova
@anyone not knowing that this Rating (AAA, AA, etc.) is purely budgetbased...
Seriously, I think MS, supposedly, says that this game is above AAA Budgets. Halo ininfinite is AAA and we know about the 500 million dollars. So I am thinking big... really big. 1 billion dollars at least. This could be considered a valid ceiling for current triple A titles.
Maybe because of the huge hype Microsoft was generating for this event?
Just saw the showcase...
Fool me once, shame on you!
Fool me twice, shame on me!
I am really at a loss of words here, but that show was ok, when it should have been pretty good at least. Wow. They've wanted to drop the mic, but all they've dropped is the ball...again...
Let's be real here (FYI PS5 only buyer speaking):
MS has a lot of money
MS wants to "win" cause it equals more money, better reputation, more money, more positive PR, oh and last but not least: more money (same for Sony, maybe more because gaming is financially more important to Sony than MS, AFAIR)
MS bought a lot of studios but more importantly, lots of talent
MS wants to proof their studios are equally talented
MS didn't releas...
The sheer amount of hard work to learn all the tools in dreams, adapting your workflow accordingly, constantly revising previously "finished" models or game logic etc. is insane!
700 hrs....
I wish I could PLAY at least 120 hrs in 6 months T-T
@rainslacker:
Sony clearly told us what this video will be about. PS5 Games!
Heck, even showing the actual hardware could be considered as a nice bonus.
I don't think this will be the last video.
Cerny mentioned a tear down video. And logically they need to be ready to counter the MS event, which I suppose will be better than the last one.
I kinda like their approach right now.
It feels like watching a boxing fight and we are all waiti...
Nope, white in shadows
Edit: nevermind
Didn't Mark Cerny say, that he doesn't expect to see a lot downclocking?
It is not a question if they are used. It is more to question how they are used.
But I wouldn't think about this as a factor anymore.
Back in PS3 days using SPUs to parallelize and speed up things was kind of a paradigm shift. New CPUs with more cores became the status quo years ago. So while true, I think most devs/engines are capable to scale accordingly.
