Yes it is unsettling that the biggest rpg this gen is going to be smaller than those that came before it.
I love final fantasy, I just hope their business decisions are not effecting this games development.
YES!
PS2 Has 1 of (if not the greatest) over all library of games in gaming history, why wouldn't people want access to that, especially with all the buzz around downloadable games (which are for the most part previous gen titles anyway).
Resi has always had campy B movie acting and rubbish stories (seriously who didn't laugh at the live action opening to resi 1 and the infamous Jill sandwich), that doesn't stop it from being one of the greatest series in gaming though.
Licensing in the west is a major hurdle for them, you only have to look at the Japanese store to catch a glimpse what we're missing out on due to legal problems (real classics like xenogears for example).
"Unreal Tournament III-I got it for the mods and free maps but it was not supported at all by Epic so it lost its luster. "
Did you not pick up the free titan pack and the patch they put out that added splitscreen multiplayer and a modbrowser to make adding mods easier?
Personally I think epics support of ut3 is nothing short of amazing I mean adding splitscreen post release can't be easy but it certainly is what the fans wanted and they delivered.
Though too human was pretty much regarded as a failure their previous game Eternal darkness tapped into the kinda emotional gaming that heavy rain is striving for.
Off the back of that game's greatness it's fair to say he still has legs to stand on so to speak.
To be fair if Sony needs a big fps to compete they've had one since Febuary in killzone 2, though that can only do 32 players rather than 256.
Yakuza does very well for sega in Japan (already on the third yakuza for ps3 in such a short time) perhaps they could sneak shenmue 3 in as a spin off under the yakuza name lol.
TIGER, TIGER, TIGER, TIGER, TIGER, TIGER, TIGER .... it is annoying but makes it all the more satisfying when you win against him.
Actually as horrid a reality as it may be wiisports is the biggest new ip this generation and also now the biggest selling video game ever ... lol Nintendo sure caught everyone off guard this gen.
Well MS should really use xbox live fees to provide dedicated servers for all games because at the moment people are essentially paying for nothing other than funding timed exclusives.
Digitally downloading 25-50gb games at our current internet capacity would be ... a bad idea.
bah they haven't even given us in EU RE1 yet
Final fantasy games use lots and lots of pre rendered fmv that's most likely why other than smaller data capacity size of dvd obviously (though they have been reluctant to do japanese voice option even on the blu ray version which is just plain stupid ...).
Wow that's amazing that the guy had so much foresight into the future of games, what he showed there how ever many years ago it may be was pretty much the meat of both Sony and Microsoft's motion control demos at this years e3.
break out demo
head tracking
3d space tracking
sword demo
the fire spell demo etc
all running on ps2
great find
They added shadow moses to mgo, for mgs fans that's big (if not for you fair enough but obviously core mgs fans want this).
Also for the past year singleplayer has received dlc for free have you missed it? Just because they haven't been in the media spot light held up as saints like the burnout team has been doesn't mean they haven't been doing it.
The new generation of gamers don't understand that actual in game things like items, modes, costumes, secrets used to be unlocked as part of the game (rather than purchased with money after release) and thus equate trophies/achievements to be unlockables (when in reality they are just pieces of useless text).
If people can't have fun with one of the greatest fan devoted games in recent years without a virtual pat on the back perhaps they've picked the wrong hobby...
A surveillance camera?!?!?
Well Eidos still hasn't caved in to the Tomb raider dlc on ps3 yet, has it been a year since it was announced yet? that's normally how these things work.
