DirectX is the interface between the code and the metal. It has nothing to do with cross platform etc.

DirectX 12 is just the latest version, and offers less overhead than previous versions.

So you'll be able to stream the tiny amount of Xbox One games to your PC.

But you won't be able to stream your massive catalog of PC games onto Xbox One.

"nobody in this comment section is angry at all."

Because it's a Sony game, and will be a "console" exclusive. Which was my point, which has sailed over your head.

No thanks. Do me a favour.

Any other pay 4 win game. So N4G is angry.

But it's a Sony game! Quick, to their defense!

Omikron is by far David Cage's best work. It has the best story, a plot twist that's clever and makes sense, and a rich colorful world with excellent art direction.

I have a feeling the author has only recently played the game, hence laments about the graphics and lack of hand holding. Get this, players were smart enough to figure puzzles out back then. Investigating the death of your partner, finding the clues in an open city was really fun, naturalistic and rewar...

Hardcore shooter fans don't like farming.

When a significant percentage of the player base choose to sit back farming mobs in a cave - you know that any alternative activity must be mediocre.

Anyone who preorders games has fallen into the overhype trap. Bungie could have delivered a shit on a plate, and it'd still have $500M in sales because you all bought into the marketing.

I have no idea why this is covered in gaming sites. Euclideon make visualisation software for laser-scanning. Their clients are governments, mapping companies, construction companies.

Here's a video of what they actually do - https://www.youtube.com/wat...

The reason it's unsuitable for games is that it doesn't handle lighting or animation.

This article is copy pasted from a January 2014 Cinema Blend article, it adds nothing new other than clickbait.

Sony, you no longer have to pay for exclusives, your fans will do it for you.

Great position Kayoss - if a company drops support for a system, we should forget the past. Now that Ground Zeroes is out, you should not play any of the older Metal Gears.

If you want to play those older games (which you shouldn't, because that's not how progression works) then you must plug all your old consoles with their obsolete outputs and scratched disks into your new TV.

That's your position. Most people would say that you are the idiot....

Their "answer" is probably just to sue every manufacturer of Google Glass products for patent royalties after failing to come up with a competitive solution.

Microsoft are making more from Android than from Windows Phone.

You're getting down votes because you made a idiotic comment, hope that's helpful.

When companies drop support for old systems, emulation is the way to go. You might be looking forward to buying all your PS2 games again on Gaikai like an obedient little consumer, I'm just running them on PCSX2.

For any of these to succeed, they will need open standards. No one wants a VR experience that only works with specific games and consoles.

Yeah, because having both sticks in the wrong position somehow makes the DualShock better.

Have you tried the DS4? They changed the handle bits, I thought it was to make it so your thumbs sit naturally over the thumbsticks, but they actually sit even more naturally over the dpad now.

When the original playstation controller came out, without the thumbsticks, they placed the buttons in the best position possible.

The buttons are still in the ...

Edge's review is actually really good, in that it digs down into why the game fails in a fairly objective manner. They did the same with Lords of Shadow 2, which also got a 4 (although with that review, the best bits were exclusive to the print edition).

In the Yoshi review, they criticise the complete lack of originality, the sluggish controls - both the movement and aiming of eggs, uninspired level design, poor use of 3D such as having the platform on a different plane...

This is why it's more important for Sony to get its Xperia line together (which it finally is doing), rather than chasing after the handheld market.

With a $75M VC round, the company was probably valued at worth several hundred million dollars. Their investors will not be looking to exit until that valuation is in the billions.

Valve are worth several billion, but they don't have that kind of cash. They could offer shares, but I doubt Valve, being the fiercely independent company they are (they've never taken external financing), would want to compromise their control over the company.

Yeah insomnium2, old games are worthless and are all universally reviled.
