This could be a bigger get for Microsoft than Activision. There's also rumours that the Next Xbox will be open for other manufacturers to make.
Huge news if it turns out to be true.
This is definitely happening, I just hope they have 2 versions one with a much bigger screen.
Definitely think the Next Xbox is going to come a lot earlier than is expected. I also see Microsoft having new light versions of Windows 11 for Handhelds & for Consoles.
Could Microsoft do away with the 30% they get from 3rd party games going into the store & just have the whole system open like PC? Plus have any store be available there & just concentrate on Gamepass Subs.
Could be huge.
"Microsoft really isn't looking good right now "
lolololololololololol
Could see this coming a mile off.
Blues Journey 2 would be nice. Loved that game.
He said around 200 Million but you're missing the point totally
Some of you are missing the point. It's stagnant for Xbox PlayStation & Nintendo.
"Using consoles as an example, he said that there are around 200 million global households that will play console games, and that number hasn’t really changed in the last 5 or 6 years."
Basically it looks like all console makers can't get much above this number.
When did they lose subscribers? I never seen any news on this. Link please
Turnover is Revenue. I thought everyone knew this..
"Spencer replied that the number of players who had Xbox Live Gold but not Game Pass and could now be added to the count was a pretty small number”
You missed a bit.
Microsoft have a turnover of over 4 Billion a year from Gamepass.
This year there'll be some nice big hitters going to Gamepass plus titles like Call of Duty. Gamepass numbers are only going to go up especially on PC.
If Xbox & Gamepass were doing so bad Microsoft would just scrap...
One of my all time favourite games
Hiding under a rock?
Yes I heard all the rumours. The gymnastics some ppl are attempting just because the rumours turned out to be a nothing burger.
PlayStation games going to PC is that their start to something too? Are Sony doing this progressively?
You guys are so funny.
For the last two weeks it was suppose to be Microsoft going full 3rd party there was even votes on what top games ppl would like to see on PS5, Gears was the one PS5 fans were hoping for most. Yesterday was supposed to be the end of Xbox. What happened....
No Microsoft Going All 3rd Party.
No Gears of War.
No Starfield.
No Indian Jones day 1.
No Giving up on Xbox Consoles.
No End of Day 1 on Gamepass.
No Activision Gam...
However, in an interview for journalist Stephen Totilo’s Game File newsletter, Xbox head Phil Spencer elaborated more on the figure, noting that it isn’t simply counting players on free trials or other promotional deals.
“That’s fully paid,” Spencer explained. “So those are not promotional players. Those are people, fully paid subs.”
Totilo then asked Spencer if the numbers were being cooked somewhat by last year’s rebranding of Xbox Live Gold to Xbox Gam...
We learned that all the rumours turned out to be a nothing burger.
So 34 Million subscribers with the Majority paying for Ultimate at £12.99. That's roughly 440 thousand pounds per month.
No highs & lows just a constant close to half a Million a month.

What if Microsoft allows Steam on Xbox?
There's a possibility of this happening further down the road. The next Xbox could have a Slimmed down Windows O/S on the console. There's already been rumours that the Next Windows will have a lot of different versions built for specific tasks.
There's a ton of games especially smaller indie games that never made any money at all & there's a ton of games that got released that lost a ton of money aswell way before Gamepass.
Gamepass can be better for some developers but it can be worse for others. There's a ton of variables.
