With Gamepass you don’t have to buy games, does that make it ok then as per your Netflix example? If games are allowed to have ads and be free then it’s ok? Because I see a ton of mobile games that do this, so those are ok?

Didn’t this sell way better on PC by a large margin? Why would you, in the position of a business making money, want to limit yourself to possible poor sales on a single platform instead of releasing on more while the hype iron’s hot?
This whole console vs PC fanboyism isn’t making Sony money. Look at Square straight up pulling away from exclusivity and now going for an aggressive multiplatform release campaign. I’m pretty sure Day 1 on console and PC is happening.
Alot’s changed in 25 years. We have games with $300 mill budgets, people not interested in games other than Fortnite and Minecraft, the older generation of gamers giving up the hobby or dying off, a period of super bad inflation where the industry decided to hike up prices on games, Gamepass harming game sales, GaaS games being pushed left and right with obnoxious monetization and worse looking/playing (Suicide Squad vs Arkham Knight).
The industry is just shite right now....

You lost me at mobile. I don’t care how “good” a mobile game is they are designed to be time sinks and force you to purchase microtransactions that give you better chances at rare loot/outfits and actually making daily progress. I have Ever Crisis a chance and it lost me hard once you hit the wall. They’re disgusting in that design approach. Too bad, because if it were just a regular game on mobile I might check it out, but I know it’ll be be f*cked by the mobile design money leeching model. ...

I would f*cking think so. Good games are what draws people to your platform. It’s why I adored the 360 era with Gears of War being one of the highlights for me. You make sh*t games and it just makes your platform that much worse and you start gobbling up studios I like and then killing them off it also makes me hate your platform as well… just sayin’
