Better than the EE? It's impossible to emulate the Emotion Engine better than the Emotion Engine. You might be able to run PS2/PS games better with software emulation than with the Emotion Engine, although hard to imagine since they were designed specifically around the EE.

But you can't emulate the EE better than the EE, because in the case of any discrepancies, the EE is automatically right. It's like copying someone. You can't be a better copy than the person you're copying...

You can still see the d-pad outline where the d-pad was and the analog stick is.

Not quite true. The 4-player split is easy because it's the exact same ratio as 1 player. 2 player however, has to either half or double the ratio.

So, normal is 4:3, 4-player is 4:3. 2 player is 2:3 if vertically split (horrible field of vision) or 8:3 if horizontal. (also somewhat prohibitive, but not as bad) And if you have widescreen, normal and 4-player is 16:9. And 2-player is either 8:9 (not that bad really) or 32:9. (WOAH! Where did that shot come from?)

I am the most rabid anti-Nintendo fanboy on the planet. I believe it's not a matter of casual vs hardcore. What would you call Red Steel? It's a really crappy hardcore game. It controls like utter crap. I can't play it for any length of time without wanting to throw the controller through the screen. (I see why so many wriststraps break) There just aren't any awesome games. How is a motion sensing controller innovative? No one gives Sony props for their controller. Seriously, people just like...

I've been playing GTA3 since I was 10. And that's nothing compared to San Andreas. Have you seen the blood splatters in KZ2? I don't care what rating it gets. I play the game because it's fun.

Since it's online, I believe that would be a beta, not a demo. And I'm really really really praying for an open beta.

This just seems like an odd game. I just hope it's not stupid.

Very neat indeed. And this is not a duplicate. Point me to where we've seen mechanical objects and motorized wheels. And it's definitely not lame. LBP is going to be fantastic.

I thought it was even more weird though, that they said the best 360 game, but CoD4 is multiplatform. I wonder if they did a best PS3 game too? I wonder if it was also CoD4? CoD4 looks awesome though, so I hope it's just as good on the PS3.

I know someone that threw their disc of (I forgot the name of the game, but he said it wasn't very good) around like a frisbee and popped it back into his PS3, and it still worked. Those disc are tough as hell. I don't know how you would get a DRE. You'd have to practically snap the disc.

I don't think that's Phil, but the question is why not? Sony needs some sexy reps to do these gigs. They'll have Pamella Anderson and Brad Pitt as spokespeople. (to be politically correct) That would make me want to watch all the Sony conferences. (with Pamella that is)

Who wants to watch this guy give a conference?

I think it's kind of unfair to have people with controllers square off against people with keyboards and mice. A mouse can do a 180 in half a second. A controller can't. Point precision vs. analog sticks is so unfair. You just move the mouse to move the crosshairs. Analog isn't quite that easy. Everyone says mouse and keyboard rules for FPS's, but that's really just not true. It's just easier.

Viva Pinata? Nights? ROFL! This guys a hilarious moron. No mention of Haze or UT3 or Uncharted?

Well I was really hoping for a PSP/PS3 firmware update and maybe a tv tuner peripheral to use my PS3/PSP like a location free tv. Those things are sort of expensive, although they are kewl and I am thinking of getting one. I think a usb attachment for a tv tuner and a firmware update to turn it into a location free tv base station would be the biggest announcement. Sadly, no announcement. =(

You can say, "Guns don't kill people, people kill people." But, "People don't kill people, chronic blood loss and organ failure kills people." But then, " Chronic blood loss and organ failure doesn't kill people, death kills people." Try that at a murder trial.

Anyways, the gun makes it a hell of a lot easier to kill someone. Most murders are NOT premeditated. They mostly go something like this: 2 people get into a verbal fight. They get really rea...

You said Haze 3. Lol, it's the first iteration of the game. But I don't understand the comment. Epic said that Gears was pushing the 360 to it's limits. Then Tecmo says DOA4 was also doing the same thing according to Hayabusa 117. But PS3 devs are saying the opposite. Evolution (who made Motorstorm) claimed they are using 10% if I recall. Naughty Dog (who are making Uncharted: Drake's Fortune) said the game will use 40%-50% of the PS3's power by the time they're done with it.

I...

This game of cat and mouse gets really old really fast. I hope the new PSP actually supports homebrew like the PS3 does. That would give me a reason to buy one.

The actual devs are saying that they need a larger disc. In a sandbox type game, it's necessary to have the whole world on one disc. In RPG's you can have 50 discs, because it's so linear. Imagine playing GTA, but having to not just pause for a few seconds, but actually switch discs every time you want to go to a different zone. Also compression isn't just a magical solution. You can't just magically compress 50 gigs of stuff onto a floppy. You can't just magically compress 50 gigs of stuff o...

Is my PSP now officially useless? Or will it still be able to load the games, just slower? And how much slower?

The answer to all of these questions is, of course, 42.

People are... well... human. We're all Homo Sapiens. We all live, breathe, and die. Including Kojima. He wants to make money (who doesn't) but he still bleeds red. Konami is comprised entirely by Homo Sapiens that bleed red. (especially the hemophiliacs) (ok, that was mean) They do want to sell their games, but they also want to make it look good and play well. They all have an interest one way or another of making their game kick @ss.

A long time ago, Squaresoft was deep in th...
