1up: Skyrim! We love it. You love it. Even Japan loves it, and those guys hate games from America! With sales topping seven million already and no corner of the Internet free of Skyrim discussion (not to mention hilarious videos showing off wanton abuse of Dragon Shouts or whatever), I think it's safe to say that Skyrim has awakened the world to the fact that a well-made single-player RPG is a lot of fun.
Interview with Stephen Russell, Actor for (Nick Valentine, Codsworth, My Handy) in Fallout 4 which is a vast open world role playing game set in the apocalyptic wastes of Boston, the Commonwealth. BLG writes, "Some of the most popular games have had a rough start, with some of them being downright unplayable.
Despite that, developers have managed to turn it around for them and make their game worth playing. Here are some games that had a rough start but were pretty great."
Sea of Thieves... I'm not disagreeing that the game has improved in terms of content. But I feel that the most significant change between now and its release is actually the public perception. Nowadays, most people are aware that the game is a multiplayer PvP-focused experience first and foremost, and not "Black Flag made by Rare". Consequently, people dismissing the whole experience because the single-player aspect is lacking or the story is plain are much less common.
Days gone! By the end of the game I couldn't drop it down! I went around so many hours killing zombies! It was addictive by the end.

They included physical disc back then
I would love the classic fallout games on console. Closest I could find was atom rpg, I liked that one a lot
Fallout: New Vegas? That's my personal recommendation. Hell, it may be buggy, but it's still easily my number 1 game of all time.
Avadon was great. Got me back to playing Geneforge. A great series.
Borderlands? If you liked Skyrim, play Borderlands? That's a bit of a stretch, I must say.
Planetscape: Torment made the list! One of my favorites. Chris Avellone <3

10 years later and im still pissed that the Gothic series doesnt get the appreciation it deserves.
Should give the underrated Divinity series ago, definitely recommend Divinity II: The Dragon Knight Saga (Remastered version of Ego Draconis with the expansion).
How about the previous elder scroll games? lol kinda seemed like an obvious miss to me?
