On this episode of GAMERZ411 we had the pleasure of having indie developer Brad Johnson from BE-Rad Entertainment on the show to talk about being an indie developer. We also cover the Wii 2 rumors, the difference between being a gamer and achievement whore. We went hard on the whole hype train issue that has been plaguing the industry.

For those who don't have time for massive open worlds or role-playing games with epic tales, these 15 games are worth checking out.
Gears of War 3 and Judgement servers have returned to their "updated" condition, adding several features, such as increased XP and more.
I currently play Gears 3 often, especially after the 60 FPS Boost. Gears of War is my favorite gaming franchise, and the Locusts are the coolest faction in history. Gears Judgment will always be a disgrace for not having the Locust in VS multiplayer.
GoW 3 and Judgement were the last installments before the series went woke and soulless. I'm level 50 in GoW 3 and LOVE it's multiplayer to death. It's just so crispy.
The Xbox 360 is one of the most successful consoles ever made, and the best games in its library are a huge part of why.
That is the most "normie" list that I ever saw. This does make some sense given the console in question, but still.
Might as well list it as the One's top twenty as well since all it had for games was backward compatibility.
It was a blast having Brad Johnson from BE-RAD on the show. He is a really cool and passionate guy.
I think its funny that the dude says uncharted 3 is going to be a let down, and that unreal 4 was a way better game, And that uncharted 3 is going to be a let down. And that everybody who thinks otherwise is stupid. Here's the thing... The game isn't even out yet. How can you say the game is going to suck? How can you say that unreal 4 is better? Don't you think you should wait and play the game, and then see what you really think about it. That is ignorance at its highest level right there!
Overhyping is what it is, Uncharted never had the marketing that COD has so speaking on Uncharted as being overhyped shouldn't have even entered this podcast. Those guys at naughty dog aren't trying to push their game to the top of the world like the guy from crytek tried to boost crysis 2 to new heights.
Halo Reach is still number 3 on xbox lives activity list, so it doesn't matter if your friends are playing it when there are clearly other people in the world.
Now the thing that pissed me off, How can you compare a moving set piece in unreal 2004 to a cinematic set piece that you can play in? This makes no sense because there is a difference between the two, because it requires more work to make moving set pieces together appear cinematic while letting you play. Its more than just putting moving pieces on a plane and letting the user play.
Now beck to the uncharted trailer, who hyped it? It's a damn trailer, nobody hyped it, its just a trailer that shows some of the different things that are in the multiplayer. It's not hype, It's a advertisement. You guys just take it a certain way because some people may like it, so you look at it as hype.
And yes, developers do things called usability test that look at (GUI)and try to figure out if fonts, colors, etc fit well in the game so the user can read the information properly. So yes they should also be graded on that as well. Guess who they take into account during these test, everyone, people who have great vision and those who maybe color blind. So yes grading on any visual is valid.
I'm not defending IGN at all, I'm just saying if it is part of the game it should be graded. I personally think games should be graded a bit more technically, because good narrative is subjective.
I was still listening to this while posting so some of this can be disregarded because the last guy said it best.
I also don't think that U3 was overhyped, that was an impression created by the fans..if so then every Hollywood blockbuster is overhyped, it's the strategies employed by marketing teams to make their games shine and it just goes to show that video games are here to take over movies!!!
