Halo 3 Legendary sold out in UK

Pre-orders of the Spartan helmet Legendary Edition of Halo 3 have sold out in the UK, Microsoft has confirmed to CVG.

One of the only means to get a hold of the collector's Halo 3 package now (here comes the plug...) is through CVG's competition - where in you've got the chance of nabbing one of three lovely Legendary Editions.

The packages includes the game, two bonus DVDs crammed full of documentaries, features and remastered cinematics from Halo and Halo 2, a collection of Halo 3 storyboard art and oh yeah - that big Spartan helmet as well, which unfortunately won't fit on your head. But it might fit on your cat.

I called the Circuit City out here where one of the 3 launch parties are taking place n' they told me they were still taking pre-orders. I made sure to check n' make sure they weren't giving out more pre-orders than they'll actually receive of the Legendary Edition. If they were going to sell out (here) I'd think they would have done so by now.

I don't think I'm going to get it from Circuit City tho, I've already had mine on pre-order at Gamestop since day 1. I just wanted to go to that launch party tho, unfortunately I can't be in two places at once.

if you have played all in the series and loved them so far then i dont blame you for buying/pre-ordering this edition, BUT if you think back to all the DVDs you have brough with the bonus discs, or the extra content on the movie disc. how often do you watch/interact with it? (interact cos sometimes there can be mini games inserted) i for one have hardly ever, so as long as i get to play the game i am happy =D

well i know sony fans come in and say that MS is doing bad in Europe, but i do personally know a lot of Halo fans in the UK. i for one wont pay this much for the legendary when i can have the same amount of fun with the standard edition, but then again i would prob pay that little bit extra for the new GTA IV game when it comes out because i have played EVERY version and loved them all.

$430.00 just came out of my account for the Halo 3 Xbox 360.
I just spent well over a $100 for two Halo 3 controllers. (One for me, one for my wife)
I paid $60.00 for a Halo 3 Wireless Headset.
I pre-ordered the Halo 3 Legendary Edition for $130.00.
I pre-ordered two copies of the regular old Halo 3 for my other two 360's... that will be over $120.00.

But hey, isn't that what flight pay is for? Maybe not what the Navy had in mind, but even though I am close to spending $900.00 on a single game, I still have no regrets and am more excited than I can tell you. And there are plenty of my Navy pilot friends who are more than a little jealous (because their wives won't let them)... we are all over 30 by the way, and apparently a bunch of big, dumb kids.

Man, am I a retard.

P.S.--This $900 is going to be way more fun than the $780 I spent on a PS3 and three decent games(Resistance, Motorstorm, Warhawk).

The Legendary Edition is almost sold out here in Sweden too. But I got mine a looong time ago.

And now I know that there are bigger Halo fans than me. Well, I do my best, but I´m kinda too low on cash to go and buy all that fancy stuff.

I live in Sweden too. One of my friends just called me and said he was just finishing level 4. The only disappointment with the game was the graphics, he said. Other than that it was amazing. He has a retail copy of it.

"Halo 3 sucks?
I'm not one to go around saying how much a game is going to suck before it comes out, but with the amount of hype surrounding this installment of Halo, I just feel so much pressure to like it. It's like 24 or American Idol. I hate those shows so god damned much, but it seems like more and more people watch them every time there on. It's insane.

Maybe I'm one of the few people that played Halo for the single play and Co-Op play, liking the story and universe that it takes place in more than I like jumping around with 15 year olds teabagging each other, but... yeah... there it is. I liked playing the original halo split screen and system link, but that might have something to do with the fact I was in Iraq and multiplayer gaming was hard to come by on any level. While I had fun with that, the true joy, for me, was the co-op play in the original halo. You just didn't see stuff like that, and I guess I'm thankful to halo for making co-op play something that other companies end up putting into their games.

And are we all forgetting the horseslit ending and crappy story of Halo 2? I mean, playing as an Elite? What the bloody hell was that about? It was a small thing though, and had it been the worst thing they did, I would have accepted it. It wasn't. They left it off at such a BS ending it was laughable. It was so obvious that they had to push it out the door to meet some deadline or something. I mean, for crying out loud, the last level was played with the stupid elite covenant dude! I didn't get Halo to play as some lame alien, I wanted to experience more of the world and kick some alien sphincter as Spartan 117. Instead, I get half a game.

Nobody cares about that though, since the multiplay is so groundbreaking and fun. Whatever. While Halo 2 did have some good choices as far as getting together with friends, I don't think anything was all that fantastical as far as the actual gameplay went. Oh... vehicles... that wasn't done in Battlefield Vietnam before. It was all basic capture the flag and deathmatch type crap. The only thing seperating it from stuff that came before was that it was on a console.

While the online adversarial multiplayer was fun for a time, it got old fairly quickly. At this point in time, I don't even have Halo or Halo 2 in my game library, and I'm glad I don't. I still get so many requests from people to join in a game it borders on insanity. Even after I tell them I do NOT have Halo 2 anymore, I still get invites and messages from people in halo 2, even though I can't read them because for some reason they can only be read in Halo 2... which is another stupid thing Microsoft has done. The amount of messages I get on live almost makes me want to get another copy of the game just so I can find out what the hell people are saying to me.

What really makes me not want to get Halo 3 is how pissed off I was at Halo 2's rushed ending. I'm a guy that holds a grudge for minor reasons. I don't own a single sony product after what SOE did to Star Wars Galaxies and I probably never will. I didn't go to Wendy's for almost 5 years because they tried to charge me for barbeque sauce one time. That's just the kind of guy that I am. I'm also the type of guy that stops liking things when they become too popular, so Halo has that going against it also. I'll probably rent the game at some point, because I really do like the story, but with no other way to tell Bungie how much their last game sucked except with my paycheck, I'm refusing to put any money towards Halo 3.

It's sad to, because I really liked the books, though I don't know what Ghosts of Onyx is like since it came out AFTER Halo 2, so I refused to buy it. Maybe they will redeem themselves and deliver a truely awesome story that makes all the anger in me melt away, but it's not going to come from their adversarial multiplayer. Maybe this time the co-op mode will be playable over XBL (another thing they did in Halo 2 that pissed me off) and that will get them some points because I really love playing games co-op over XBL. Really though, the only thing I liked in Halo 2's multiplayer was the fact that I could link up with my buddies, form a group, and continusly play together, even in ranked matches. If my friend was over who didn't have an XBL account, we could play unranked matches with him as a guest.

Chances are, at least if Cliffy B is to be believed, that neither of these will show in Halo 3. I'm not a big fan of ranked matches for the sake of compitition, but I do enjoy competing against people of similar skill as well as getting an idea of where I stand in comparison to other people. Plus, these days with my minor achievement addiction, I almost have to play ranked games to get any of them. I've play A LOT of Gears of War, but I have pretty much no multiplayer acheivements because I don't like just playing with random people I don't know. I'll fight against them, sure, but excuse me if I want to play a game with my friends instead of complete strangers. Maybe it's just me, but maybe it's the fact that people take these stupid leaderboards and the like way too serious. Why not put a limit on how much time a person can spend playing ranked matches? I mean, if I play for 18 hours a day and am only mediocre at a game, I'll still end up having a score higher then some dude who is awesome, but only gets to play a few hours. That doesn't seem fair at all.

Maybe my problem is that I'm not a little kid anymore, and espite what some would have you think, the video game community is still dominated by it. They should put filters on online games to just automatically mute out anyone under a certain age. Maybe it's not just age, maybe video games attract a lot of annoying immature people. I know halo seems to, and that frustrates me even more, because even if I did like the game, I'd never be able to enjoy it anymore because of all the donkey hats running around.

Most of the 360 games suck ass. The system's been out for 2 yrs and I can count on half a hand how many good games it has. An especially the ones that are not shooter games. Halo is the beginning of the end, after that game launches it's done until the next shooter GOW2 comes out. Then wait for the next shooter. The PS3 has some great games coming out, and some great games that are out.
