are these pictures of the new GTA 5 or something? It looks like a modded version of GTA for the PC for some reason (the building, the NPCs, the setting, wtf taxi?). I thought they would have kept a more realistic looks of the surrounding in photo mode like in the older pictures.

But the car looks really nice.

Because there are so many inadequacies in their hardware descriptions? The PS3's CPU is not "7 single-threaded cores (plus 1 backup core)". It is a single dual threaded core(PPU) with 7 programmable vector processors(SPEs) that can be given tasks by the main core.

When talking about the eDRAM on the 360 they say: "However, the Xbox has the advantage of 10 MB of eDRAM. When relying on the eDRAM, system bandwidth jumps up to 256 GBps." The system bandwidth doesn't jump up to anything. The 10MB of eDRAM has 256GB/s of memory bandwidth while the main 512MB of RAM only has 22.4GB/s. So sure, the 10MB is really fast, if you can actually manage to do anything within that 10MB. This is why it is only used to store the back buffer, as it's too small for anything else.

Later when talking about RAM, they say "The PS3's XDR RAM is also far more fast and efficient than the Xbox's GDDR3 RAM, running at a speed of 3.2 GHz compared to 700 MHz." Yeah, the XDR is faster, but the difference is not nearly as large as the clockspeed difference would imply, due to the XDR's much narrower memory bus.

I'm not saying that the PS3 isn't more powerful than the 360, but that IGN should not be who you cite to prove it. That article simply proves IGN has absolutely no hardware knowledge.

Meh... I think GTA has only up to go... GTAIV is like GTAIII, a game that was gushed over at the time but was, ultimately, a very shallow game, but redeemed with the later "GTAIII gen" games just had so much more going on.

I think GTAV, having the engine and scope in place, will focus more on fun.

Looks like shit. Only thing I noticed is that there is reflections of cars. Nothing else. Misleading title. Oh and GTA 5 won't come out until the next generation of consoles. So the next GTA will be "GTA: ???? ????". It's either based in Vice city, or in San Andreas. Even better if it is based somewhere else or once.

This site has been on N4G's hottest stories bar so many times by simply putting pictures of a PC mod for GTA 4 on and saying it's GTA 5. Ridiculous.

GTA5 isn't even announced from Rockstar. No offense, the next game is probably not gonna be GTA5. Before GTA4 came, we got Vice City and San Andreas, so we are getting something else before GTA5. This would be logical, since they could release the next main title on the PS4/whatever crap MS will release next-gen.
