Top Five Video Game Cheat Codes Of All Time (RunDLC)

Cheat codes have played a huge role in video game history, as people enter various button combinations to score extra lives, warp to distant levels or alter their characters. Some have even found their way into pop culture, including t-shirts at your local Hot Topic. Although they don’t appear to be as huge as they were in the 80s and 90s, we chose to highlight the best cheat codes of all time. Let us know how many you’ve used.

Obviously, you can't have this list without the konami code. I mean, has anyone actually beaten contra without it?

Buff10445030d ago

Well of course. I never came close to beating it without the code, but I still remember when I did. Was on a Saturday morning. Just tore through it, dying countless times...but I eventually prevailed. Happy times.

not impossible if you're on drugs

RedPawn5030d ago

Contra without the code is WAY TOO EASY, sorry, now Super C or Alien Wars, F THAT.

Great list there, definately all deserved to be on it.

First time I played DOOM (mid 90s) I was getting my butt handed to me....God Mode proved very useful. ;)

HeroXIV5030d ago

Good list but I remember 1 off by heart in GTA, can't remember what it did : R1, R2, L1, R2, Up, Down, Left, Right, Up, Down, Left, Right.

Buff10445030d ago

Hmmm....sounds like it is worth researching. I'll let you know if I find anything...let's see.

HeroXIV5030d ago

Embarassingly I didn't get it right. I got my directions confused. :P Picked up controller it's LEFT, DOWN, RIGHT, UP x 2 not what I said lol. Gives you some random weapons.

Smiling5355030d ago

Huh...I just checked and didn't see a code like that. Did you have any luck, Buff1044? I do remember the one in GTA III that makes everyone's limbs fly off. Then u could make everyone attack u at once. Classic stuff.

Buff10445030d ago

Oh man....I totally remember that. I would make everyone come after me, but first I would unlock all weapons and enable that limb cheat. They'd come running like the zombies in Dawn of the Dead and I would just lay into them with the automatic rifle. By the time it was over, I would either be dead or standing in a pile of limbs. haha

Buff10445030d ago

Nope. Coming up empty. I wonder what it does.

Blazing_Crabs5030d ago

Thats the GTA SA weapons set one cheat.

In that game i memorised the jetpack, infinite health, all the weapon cheats, the harrier, and the lock wanted level cheat.
