The Grand Theft Auto 'Hot Coffee' Payout Checks Are In The Mail

If you ever owned a copy of Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, specifically the naughty version that contained the crude, digital doggy-styling mission known as "Hot Coffee," you may already be five U.S. dollars richer. Publisher Take-Two is sending out checks.

This reminds me of Don't Be a Menace

I never did understand this--why exactly was a lawsuit allowed to go through in the first place? It's ridiculous. Not only did the minigame feature absolutely NO nudity, but it was hidden enough so that if you didn't want to view it, you didn't have to.

So many films feature explicit nudity, sex, and even rape, yet I bet the morons who filed this lawsuit lap that sh*t without a second thought. Disgusting.

I guess some people will do anything for an easy $5 though. -.-

One of the rare cases in this world where it pays off to be dumb.

despair5178d ago

its just sad that with all the gang violence, killing, getting hookers in your car and then killing them, drugs, guns, bribing police, corrupt officials, profanity etc. What they complained about was probably the worst sex mini game ever made lol. shows how stupid and full of Sh@# they really are.

Bubbles for that comment. How ridiculous it is that our courts were used for such a dumb ass civil case. There is a lot more that we need to be spending our money on.

When it comes to stubborn conservative politicians being in control who think that we are still living in the 1950's, when every teenager was a fragile little flower who didn't even think about sex until marriage, it always pays to be stupid.

I saw my neighbors going at it last night. HOW MANY DOLLA'S DO I GET

"Gimme a dollar and I'll leave you alone!"

I couldn't find that scene on youtube :(

thor5177d ago

That's the american culture for some reason. Any nudity or hint at sex and it's a big taboo. Masses of violence are OK though. That's why Heavy Rain has a higher age restriction than MW2 in the US, whereas in Britain it's the other way around.

WOAH! Five whole dollars! I'm glad that money can be used to wipe the kids' minds that saw that awful awful sex scene!

Any parent that get's this $5 needs to use it to buy a clue. Perhaps starting with the title Grand Theft Auto (a felony offense mind you) might have provided a clue. Then, of course, there was the media coverage of the previous games. Finally, there is a nice little ratings system in place for those that are unsure. At the end of the day, there is FAR worse stuff on cable and regular TV than the "Hot Coffee" MOD. On second thought...split that fiver in half...$2.50 to the parents and $2.50 to the kids that spent that time and effort on getting...for a down payment on a LIFE!!!

Why Indie Games Fail To Keep Their Place In The Spotlight

A look into the sad trajectory of indie games from high successful releases to complete irrelevancy in just a few weeks or months.

shaenoide5d ago

Easy not enough developpers to add content to the game (palworld)

Profchaos5d ago

That's the thing with gaming there's always new experiences to have why spend months or years playing a single game when there's a new experience right around the corner.

Indie or AAA if your building your game expecting long term player counts you'll probably be disappointed as gamers often enjoy something for a few weeks and move on only to return if it's truely a classic.

Out of all the generations I've experienced there's games from 30 plus years ago I still dust off and play like super Mario bros, earthbound, vice city and san Andreas being games I treasure and revisit every few years but I'm not going back to play a game designed to keep me engaged for months on end because it's also designed to milk my wallet in most cases.

Build a great game that people love make it playable offline and ask does it matter if the concurrent player count is under 100 a year post launch more often that not it doesn't

P_Bomb5d ago

The price of entry is too high to take chances like I used to. Was looking at V Rising and that ranges from $50-$130 CAD. That’s a lot for an indie imo. By the time it goes on sale, the player count might be dwindling. But that’s the trade-off, I guess.

Si-Fly5d ago

I’m glad my preference is single player experiences, Indie devs got me covered 👊🏻
