It's good they didn't get too cawky and list it as the rumored $999 that everyone was afraid of.

The next gen or the one after that should be nice, possibly with USB ports and maybe even some sort of video out feature.

The Sony "dash". Cheaper and seems like it will do everything I need it to because I am not looking for something to replace my laptop. It's more like a larger organizer in a flashy manner.

I think its a battery life issue

i cringe at any device without expandable memory - its why i chose a psp over an itouch along with the replaceable battery .

$130 more for the 3G version. Epic f*cking rip off. It cost's them less than $10 ins hardware and manufacturing cost's to add the 3G components. This is some Apple Tax taken to the extreme.

Plus this thing still can't freaking multi-task. Your only allowed to do one thing at a time. Can't for example listen to music while writing a message.

actually, I the iphone does play music and surf the web or email at the same time, so in some aspects, it can multi task...

Iphone can do music and surfing, or texting at the same time. I wish it could do more multi-tasking. But I think it has to do with people not knowing that there iphone is running 5 apps at once and then there battery lasts an hour. Apple likes to guide people which some may not like but some do. But in this case i think its all about managing battery life.

I'm with you people. Nothing too impressive with this "revolutionary" product. However, I likely would have purchased one of these had they included a USB port but with an iphone and a laptop, what would be the point? I could have used it to make last minute powerpoint/word changes while actually in class before doing presentations, which would have been great because graduate school is all about powerpoint presentations. A stylus would have been great as well. Maybe for once MS will wow us with the courier or whatever its called. They certainly know what we want based on all the forum gripes about the ipad.
