It's not a bug, if you chose to be the hero and go in, you die, they stated that pretty clearly in the text in that part. If you send someone else in, you can continue the game. Also, with the broken steel DLC, you can send in Fawkes and no one dies =]. (PC f@g, not 360)

NO CRAP, really. You Never wanted to play the game so im not surprised you wouldnt want it. I rented fallout 3 on 360 last year and I really liked it. I havent purchased the DLC because I dont even have the game.

But if you enjoyed F3 then I dont see why you would not even be happy to get the opportunity. I wouldnt buy the DLC because Id rather wait on the edition with it all on the disk. But from what Ive seen this is actually some good DLC. If your a fan of the game It seems like a good deal.

I would have waited to get the 3rd one anyway before geting the other 2, since you have a higher level cap. If you can wait(or have to wait) then its probably better to get tham all together for cheaper someday anyway.

Like some of you Ill probably buy the GOTY edition with all the DLC included. But if you a fan of the game youll probably buy it, but if your a fanboy then you flame bethesda all day long regardless of if you even liked fallout 3.

But it's really a lose-lose situation since they made it "exclusive" in the first place. So who's to blame for low sales of the DLC? Bethesda themselves.

I see a lot of this with Western devs. The Japanese seem to have them beat as far as endings go. Maybe I'm spoiled by JP games, but how annoying is it to beat a game in 8-10 hours and get a 30-second ending? Bioshock is a prime offender too iirc: great in-game storytelling, absolutely poor endings. I'm not asking for MGS-long endings, I'm just saying...more than a freakin' minute.

Fallout 3 has the cheapest, paste on endings i've ever played in a video game. Hell, SNES games has better endings than that crap.

However, me and my friend concluded that Fallout 3's best experience is the journey itself, not the ending.

I have to disagree I think Fable 2 is the new worst offender. all that work gathering your 3 Heroes only to... well, I guess I shouldn't 'spoil' it here.

although on the other hand, since u can continue playing Fable 2 after the ending with new quests & mansions, u could consider all that after-play to be part of the ending and then it doesn't suck quite as bad. but then of course, on the other OTHER hand, now that u can do the same with Fallout 3 DLC (keep playing after the 'ending')it's still way better, right??

What, am I desperate for games? There's more than enough on the ps3 to keep me busy without having to belittle myself by dishing out $ for cold leftovers. I think that I'll keep my hard earned cash. As a matter of fact, when they put out their next bug-filled opus, I just may skip paying for it altogether.

I'll probably be playing Demon's Souls or White Knight Chronicles instead. Bethesda has been treating ps3 owners like second class citizens as of late and now I get to show them how I feel about them in return by keeping my cash.

well i bought all 3 dlc's for pc..and now there are 2 more coming, so if you want the good stuff, support bethesda, i for one loved the dlc's, anchorage was ok (new gausse rifle was awesome), the pitt was really good, lots of unique armors and weapons, and broken steel was even better, lvl 30, main quest extended, basically doubled the entire games content....and with more to come you'd only be missing out, but you can sook if you want, feel free to not have fun

sorry but while I gave agrees to some of you peoples' points above, I also gotta agree here. Fallout 3 has ironed out so many annoying little inconsistencies & the like over Oblivion, which was ALREADY h3lla-addictive IMO. each expansion has brought good things to Fallout 3 (again, more of my opinion on that over here >>> in Open Zone) and further refined some of the gameplay; esp. Broken Steel.

there are still some stupid little things just like in Oblivion. ex: NPCs that tell u off in dialogue but then act all nice 2 seconds later with their open just-walking-by dialogue (I'm looking at YOU, Jericho of Megaton!) and yet the rest of the gameplay is so addictive that I've saved the game almost 5,000 times now!

Bethesda, please keep improving! can't wait for your next title!

When I bought Fo3 for my PS3 I did it because I thought my PC could not handle the game and also because of the trophies.

Then the DLCs never came for the PS3 and so I got myself a copy and the three DLCs to play on my PC and WOW, I am amazed that I can run it at max settings with minor lag.... better aax2 only.

Anyways, well, I dont think it is wortk for me anymore to think of buying the DLCs now ,expecially when all 3 will not come at once.... the Broken Steel is the best DLC that raises the level cap and so while doing the other DLCs you can start to gain xp once again(if you are lv 20 already)

So far on the PC I ended the first DLC and I want to say tha tit is 10 times better then I thought it would be. It is really fun , not short and have super reward(s)

For those with the PS3 that have Fo3 I really recomend then because all 3 DLCs are worth a lot of extra hours and not like many of the DLCs we are used to see on the PSN like a $13 for stupid clothes for SF4 that don't really add anything significant to the game.

However, 2 weeks ago, I bought THE ELDER SCROLLS: OBLIVION (Game of the year edition) for $20 and I'm enjoying it. So maybe when Fallout GoTY comes out, maybe I'll consider getting it.

actually I've been going back to Oblivion the past few days now that I have all 1350 achievement pts for Fallout 3, and you're dead wrong.

here I am back in Obliv, painstakingly (and artificially) leveling exactly 10 pts of 1 minor skill and then 10 pts of 1 major skill so that I get the full payout at level-up. meanwhile, Fallout 3 streamlined all of that with the Perks system, much better. and despite being lots o' shades of brown & grey, there's somehow more environmental variety in Fallout 3. plus the V.A.T.S. system really does make combat lots of fun (the spell-casting in Obliv = really weak IMO)!

in Fallout 3 I'm close to my 5,000th save file. in Obliv, I'm only up to half that - I didn't play it as much.

Too late now I know alot of people who have played Fallout 3 and finished it for the PS3 they got their trophies for the game. Its a great game but when people heard that Microsoft got the exclusive for the DLC most PS3 owners have traded Fallout 3 for other titles and most people now are not going to pay 70 bux for Fallout 3 just for the DLC I know I am not.

I have finished FO3 a few time and also got the platinium trophy And now I am playing this game on the PC because of the DLCs.Fo3 for the PC. I wonder if there is some kind patch that fixed the bugs when I installed the 3 DLCs at the same time.

Anyways, the point is, be carefull if you plan to buy Fo3 game of the year edition when it comes around november because it could keep ALL bugs of the original game like what happened with Oblivion GoTY for the PS3.

Checking with friends they reported to me that Original Oblivion had some bugs but the GoTY edition(I already have it in blu-ray) is extreemel buged andfor ppl that bougt Shivering Isles as a DLC from the PSN got no bugs.

I know it will cost more to buy each of the 5 dlcs but in my opinion it is less risky then to get the disk with all DLCs included plus bugs and never get fixed like the Oblivion GoTY that I could never finishe because hundreds of buged quests, corrupted save files and etc.

I'm not too hung up on it. I mean, I'm sure in their exclusivity agreement with Microsoft somewhere in there was a "Nobody can find out it's even timed, give the illusion that it's never coming out for PS3, and avoid any questions regarding the DLC for PS3 until so and so date."

I'm really not surprised, but it's been like that for every timed exclusive the 360 had. There were no talks about the ps3 port/DLC until the sales all but evaporated from the 360 version. I'm kinda pissed that they could just say "Ps3 gamers you'll get yours soon enough" or something to that effect, but like I said-- not hung up on it, it was probably something they had to agree to so they could release it on the 360. Fallout was awesome, but I don't see me purchasing the DLC any time soon. It's been a while since I played it.

I don't know about other gamers, but I personally buy a game for its content as a game, not for its DLC. If I feel that the add-on is worth it, then I might buy it. When I bought Fallout 3 my decision was based on the game itself; now that there will be DLC available, it might give the game some new life to me but I will have to see.

Operation Anchorage isn't great gameplay-wise, although it's nice to have a completely different-looking environment to work through.

but Op. Anchorage has 1 thing I couldn't do without once I 1st tried it: Chinese Stealth Armor (u get it after completing Op. Anchorage and coming back to the main game map).

and Into the Pitt has a truly weak story IMO, but d@mn if I didn't enjoy digging around for all 100 steel ingots. (it was tough, I broke down and used gamefaqs.com after finding 98 of 'em on my own!)

also, Broken Steel adds a key new Perk that will make NukaCola Quantums more readily available. it's my 2nd-favorite add-on, u can be swimming in Nuka Grenades towards the end if u do things properly.

I guess I can understand if u want to protest the whole timed-exclusivity thing or maybe even DLC pricing altogether; but u should know what you're giving up. for myself I think Fallout 3 is 1 of the best games this-gen and couldn't resist buying each add-on immediately.

2nd edit: I think there's a mistake/typo with that Nuka Quantums Perk, it says lvl 22 is the prerequisite but I couldn't get it until I think lvl 26.

i was trying to decide whether or not to get it; and, when todd howard stood on stage last year and said that all fallout dlc would be exclusive to the 360? well, that made my decision very easy. i haven't bought it and don't intend to. i was never a big fallout fan to begin with and i wasn't really thrilled with the previews i've seen of the game. but, i don't understand what 3rd party devs expect when they announce their dlc for their multi plat game will be exclusive to one console? i might have bought the game just to see what it's like. but i won't buy anything from a dev who does what todd howard did last E3.

The gaming market doesn't only gross more than the Hollywood Market, it also has the world's biggest player onboard....Micro$oft...and Micro$oft speaks one language = money.

Its an unfortunate shame, and it bothers me that Rockstar and Bathesda were bought off like cheap whores in the street in exchange for some DLC content to make the 360 have a chance against the PS3...but can we blame them?

Amid a financial crisis, and intense competition and production costs, money is what gets these games to us in the 1st place.

I actually commend Bathesda for releasing this pack, its a sort of a compensation / repentance. They knew they'd eventually release these for the PS3. Money makes things dirty and kills creativity, but if money is whats necessary to keep these companies afloat, sometimes its just the only way =(

I don't defend Bathesda or Rockstar for their money hungry pig-like acts...but I'm at least greatful we will get the GOTY Ed. at all =). Patience is a virtue, and PS3 fans have learnt to master it, something M$ can only compensate for with MONEY....and not quality.
