Live + Miis + Achievements + 2nd Life = PS Home?

was trying to figure out what the xbox communities has to say about the "home" feature of PS3, well, here's one. i know i know.. it will probably be rejected because of the low value of content (or some other excuse like how my last one was junked when i posted the news about - missing HDMI in pal version). anyway, it's a view from the other side of the fence. q:

Read the comments in the article after the story is absolutely gut-bustingly funny. The one about he doesn't want to play with dolls online and machine guns was priceless. Basically, comments are right on, have to agree 2 and half years and they make that instead of a killer launch game? I guess that is strategy...?

HEHE I didnt see the machine guns one though.. Weird... Polly Pockets I remember that my sister use to have those I always stepped on them annoying.. Who knows people can say it's a ripoff just like the PSNetwork...But the Sony faithful will come up at how it was Revolutionary and totally different then the Mii's and Live but thats how it always is... It is true not that Advertisments are becoming mainstreamed jsut wait till you seem ad's in your "HOME" thats kinda gay... And like a great talkshow host said.. Did you know that ads in TV shows are against the regulations in the UK. On shows they can't say "cellotape" they have to say "sticky-backed plastic"...if there's anything like a coke bottle they have to wash out the logo, or a nike cap the same thing...

I don't own a PS3, but I do think its kind of cool and your right dude it does scream loser, but no more than a gamer pic. I would like to try the little feature out right before I get my hands on heavenly sword. All and All its ok its not enough to say hay we need to get a PS# but when they are 299.99 in USA I will get one.

I think it's taking all those features to another level. You can't say Sony's taking a step backwards I think "Home" is something for the future.

I was showing the Home feture and this site to my bro last night when he brought over his kids. We both own 360's. Funny but we both said the same thing about this..." it would be cool if we could go around blasting everyone with machine guns!!! Yes, to much COD3 in the head.

I feel the same way haha. It must be the fact that we "only get shooters on the 360" it has warped our minds. That would be pretty damn columbine though. Maybe MS should do that and call it "School" instead of "home" Meet people bring them home and shoot them maybe even mount the avatars heads on the wall to show your friends.

lol, i would really like that, every second xbox gamer is like 10-14 years old and pisses me off with their trash talk when playing GOW, must hit Mute button many times :( and this would be a great alternative :D

I think Ill stick with my LIVE, thank you very much. I dont think I want to sit down see somebodys avatar then play a game come back to HOME and talk about it, if I really wanted to do that I would chat with them with the video chat feature via, xbox live vision camera.

Home is just what i expected.

I was expecting something cool with Xbox live and achievement tools. But no, it was plain crap. Nothing special. just pages of videos, pictures etc etc. I couldnt live with it and decided to sell xbox (which i did)

When Home was annoucement, i saw videos and was speechless. Home is just perfect. It proves how powerful PS can be. Walking around while videos are currently being played on different screens. Wow.
Playing cool arcade. Wow. Trophy room. Wow. Theater. Wow.

really! I'm sorry but It looks gimmicky to say the least, I'll hold my full judgement until I have seen it going properly, but if I really wanted the sims I would buy it. I don't know who agrees with me but..sometimes little is better. Put a game in console ...look for friends in list .....invite friends.... and then kick ass whilst having a good old chat!

will be good. I didn't realize that there were so many Sony haters, but I sold my 360 and got a PS3. Based on games blue ray and the capabilities of the system. Now we get this Home and it sounds like it's going to be pretty good. I'm not a loser who just sits around an plays games, but when I get in from the gym or work and want to relax this seems like the place to be my home away from home. Not a bad deal that it's also going to be free.

it's gonna be full of microtransactions buddy, psn is still free, but all the things in home are gonna be chock full of microtransactions. who is really gonna make customizable options for free. Please give me a break. And those that think the 360 can't handle home are pretty biased. ibm makes both systems processors. and 360 has a unified graphics and ram architecture, so it would have no problem running multiple windows. some people are just simple in their mindsets when it comes to biased ideals. Both systems are really powerful, sony's was delayed because of a blueray diode problem, they weren't workin on makin it more powerful. The cell processor is by far the most impressive feature of the ps3, not the rsx, or how it's memory is handled, only the cell. my god, i can understand counterpoints, but do they have to sound so fanboyish. Grow up people.

most sony haters are coming from America. Let them enjoy their xbox (made in USA)
Japanese loves their Wii, thanks to family friendly games. Japaneses love fun game.
As for Europe, most of game developers come from UK, France. Europeans love Sony. They love great games.

News4Gamers site has high percentage of xbox-loving americans. This explains too many sony haters. All you have to do is ignore them. Buy PS3 and see it for yourself.

When Sony releases PS3 in Europe in less than 2 weeks, the sale of PS3 will be strong. Europeans have many reports of fast preorders despite high cost of PS3 in UK (blame it on tax).
