IGN: "Akeem has had tons of time with the PSVR 2, and as one of the biggest VR enthusiasts at IGN, he's got words on why he thinks PSVR 2 is actually better than the Meta Quest 2! From Horizon: Call of the Mountain to Resident Evil Village VR, to hardware specific features, he's found tons to love about the PSVR 2 and we're here for it! Are you still on the fence?"
New details on dark fantasy adventure’s mountainous monsters, gritty combat and more.
The PlayStation VR 2 deal is one of many great PlayStation discounts available until June 12. That said, if you're interested in PSVR 2 but still need to upgrade your console, the are also deals on the PS5 Slim and PS5 Slim digital edition during the PlayStation Days of Play sale.
Sorry but PSVR2 is dead and double dead at any sale price. It was dead before it launched as the "premium" VR scene lost all the AAA developers and now it is all indie mobile phone crap quality software.
State of Play is back! Tune in live for updates on PS5 and PS VR2 titles, plus a look at PlayStation Studios games arriving later this year.
Im getting a bit of GotG vibes from Concord.
Ragnarok coming September 2024... that's just shy of 2 years since the PS5 release in November 2022.
Most games appeared good.
Where Winds Meet and Monster Hunter seemed like those needed a bit more polish but that's ok as those aren't releasing anytime soon but I am still kinda worried regarding SH2Remake. Still looks rough and from rear view, James Sunderland looks nearly identical to Leon Kennedy's model from RE4Remake. Hope I am wrong though.
Other games were decent. Even Marvel Rivals.
Ballad of Antara was the highlight for me, followed by Infinity Nikki(purely on the art style alone).
And glad that, Path of Exile 2 is coming to PS5 and Ragnarok is coming to PC!
Behemoth for VR2 also looked really interesting.
Only three?! There are loads! There are also counter arguments, of course, but when taken as a whole, PSVR2 blows quest 2 out of the water, as it should do.
that's some high praise for the PSVR2, and yes it literally blows away the quest 2, according to digital foundry the quest 2 suffers from washed out black levels and fogging issues, and according to this post it cant be worn with glasses and doesn't block out light adequately, has a crappy screen and graphics and is also heavy and awkward on the head, and of course no eye tracking / haptics / adaptive triggers
I mean it's years after, obviously it's gonna be better in some ways otherwise something is wrong lmao. Heard lots of complaints about visual issues on PSVR2 tho, it's kinda like Valve's Index which suffers from some glare, which is barely to be seen on Quest 2. Higher price does not always = better.
Quest 2 is at the level where it's decent enough in clarity, can pair with your PC wirelessly or wired for unlimited power, unlike PSVR2. So yea, it depends on your requirements and if you intend to stick to walled gardens of a console.
I guess Sony is not pleased with the initial PS VR2 sales if all media outlets need to create a "why the PS VR2 is better to QUest2 type of article (with various degrees of truth).
Meta dominates over 75% of the current VR space and I have barely seen a review of a game outside of resident evil4.
but suddenly we have all current PS VR2 getting reviews (and most of them are on the Quest2) all over the board like it's the most established Headset.
Heck, I would not be surprised if the 2023 GOTY is suddenly a PS VR2 game (because VR will suddenly matter)
In other news one of the most popular VR game Echo VR (made by Ready at Dawn) will have its server shutdown on August 1 (because Meta is a A-hole).
Have we heard of this news on a popular website? of course not.
Also, I just find funny a bit that all media that got a free PS vr2 are all it's the best thing ever versus a lot of YouTubers that bought the Ps Vr2 and are more like it's a nice upgrade that will please the hardcore crowd.
