Don't worry Square, no rush... I'll purchase the PC version when it's dirt cheap. You don't deserve to get paid full price for your games.

onisama459d ago

im sure it will be 1 year ...oh and you got lot of free mods ...the remake has such a huge mod community for better gameplay and costumes weapons animation......

Vengeance1138459d ago

@onisama
He said "dirt cheap" on PC not just wait until it's on PC. That will 100% not be 1yr, much closer to 3-4yrs.
You're dreaming if you think a runaway success like FF16 wil just tank in price so crazy fast.

blitz0623458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

And even after getting the dirt cheap PC version there will still be thousands of complaints on how it's a crap port

Old McGroin458d ago

@Vengeance1138

"You're dreaming if you think a runaway success like FF16"

Ah, you already know how many copies it will sell?

Shane Kim458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

Old

People have been starving for a good FF game for a while. This will sell good.

I think even FF XV has over 10 million sales.

Vengeance1138458d ago

@old McGroin
After everything we've seen, including the massive preview articles we saw popping yesterday and the constant stream of new gameplay and dev interviews, please state me your evidence to the contrary that FF16 will be a runaway success.
What is your evidence that there's a chance the game will flop.

Old McGroin458d ago

@Vengeance1138

"After everything we've seen, including the massive preview articles we saw popping yesterday and the constant stream of new gameplay and dev interviews"

So you're evidence that it will be a runaway success is that there has been gameplay videos and dev interviews lately? OK.

If you look anywhere outside of the notoriously pro-Playstation N4G you'll see a lot of people are wary of the new direction, it's not a Final Fantasy game in the traditional sense. I think it looks fantastic but people who like their FF games to play like FF games and not a reskinned Devil May Cry will be holding off for reviews or just plain avoiding it.

Old McGroin458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

@Shane Kim

Final Fantasy XV was on pretty much every platform going, even Stadia. And it resembled a Final Fantasy game. This is only an PS for a time and only barely looks like a Final Fantasy game. If you look outside N4G you will see a lot of FF fans are wary of the new direction. I guarantee you it won't sell anywhere near 10 million on the PS5.

Vengeance1138458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

@old McGroin
What you are referring to is a very small minority, everywhere I look its constant praise and just plain jaw dropping at the last previews and how insanely incredible the new gameplay looks. You are actually willing to tell me that the vast majority of ppl will look at the preview we just got with the new snippets of gameplay and boss fights and go but... but... its not FF! and totally ignore the gameplay action and best in generation visuals? They will what? Be upset that its not turn based like a PS1 game? FF has been an action game like Devil May Cry since FF13, the gameplay style is absolutely nothing new, they just amped it up in 16.

Also as per your other comment to Shane Kim, this game will absolutely sell 10M or get close to it on PS5 alone, FF16 is one of the top games releasing in the entirety of 2023 right next to Spiderman 2 and Zelda. People take days off work to play it, drop anything else they are currently playing when it comes out, its an event of a release.

Also maybe N4G would also be pro-Xbox, if you know... Xbox actually did something of note? Released a game maybe? Innovated? What has Xbox done in the entirety of 2022 and this year? Bought up Publishers and released a GP filler game in hi-fi rush that they also had nothing to do with during development. N4G appears pro-PS5 because Sony has released banger after banger in games and innovated VR hardware and the system itself is just dominating. People will be pro-Xbox when Xbox does something to earn it. Its really that simple.

I will definitely write down your name and call you out once FF16 absolutely crushes 10M or close to it. Be ready.

andy85458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

@oldmcgroin FFXV was received pretty badly and sold over 10 million and you don't think a new FF, which is shaping up to be the best in a long time, releasing on a system which people are crying out for PS5 only games. You guarantee it won't sell 10 million lifetime on that system. I'll eat my foot if it doesn't

Hard disagree, I'm not going to say preorder their games, but voting with your wallet also means supporting their good projects just like not supporting the ones with bad practices.

I don't know if this game is good or bad obviously, but if it's hailed as a 10/10 GOTY, supporting those kinds of games is how you send the right message to the team.

onisama459d ago

voting with your wallet to encourage them with 3rd party exclusivity...nah thanks

Hypertension140458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

It's a playstation exclusive(for now)that's why, they will refuse to get one no matter what.
The same people telling others to get an xbox if they want to play Bethesda/Activision games, these people would been crying the hardest if Sony made those acquisitions instead.

Tapani459d ago

You don't deserve the game at a dirt cheap price point.

repsahj459d ago

play on smart phones if you like dirt cheap games.

CrimsonWing69459d ago

Wait, let’s have a level-headed non-emotionally fueled discussion here. Why do you feel Square doesn’t deserve to get paid full price for their games?

porkChop458d ago

On PC specifically they've been releasing some pretty shitty ports at high prices so I can understand someone not wanting to pay full price. In Canada most games are now $89.99, yet Square Enix charges $93.49.

Gamer_Dude459d ago

Obviously Square doesn't want our money, so be it.

DarXyde459d ago

.... Even if it's a really good game?

Stanjara458d ago

You never intended to buy it anyways torrent master race.

jeromeface458d ago

enjoy waiting for years after release for your shit port

KeyAppearance458d ago

lol you pissed some people off...

KeyAppearance458d ago

lol you've pi##ed some people off

VariantAEC457d ago

Thank you for explaining exactly why Square Enix doesn't care to put the game out on PC at all. Also why they will launch it in a broken state with obtrusive DRM and will probably never really patch it.

It's because you don't care to pay them so WHY SHOULD THEY CARE?
I hope they cancel the PC version just to spite morons like you.

Eonjay459d ago

This. They stated that they have been working almost exclusively on the PS5 version and trying to optimize that. And from what we can tell it is very highly optimized. To get similar levels of attention across PC should take some time. But at least they aren't rush out a bad port just to match the PS5 launch date.

To save some time, I think they are gonna have to accept higher than normal minimum specs. Especially for the loading. I am really curious to see their recommended specs. I want to see what you need to get the PS5 experience.

Bobertt458d ago (Edited 458d ago )

Microsoft released Direct X Storage 1.1 in November 2022 which will allow for decompression through the GPU like the Xbox Series X so if they get it working it should help a lot although it's not as good as the one in the PS5.

VariantAEC457d ago

Because PS is the best platform for Square Enix developers and where the majority of their gamers are.
Yes, that's why.

You're welcome 343_Guilty_Spark.

GoodGuy09459d ago

Probably about a year or so like we saw with vii remake.

DarK-SilV458d ago

PcSheepRace 😄 🤣 😂 experience, high inflated gpu prices, broken games,

Most games are a stutter mess broken even my 3080 doesn't run the game better than my ps5,

onisama459d ago

dont worry square i will wait for it to come on pc i still have along list of games to finish...but like the remake i will give it a gift and that by playing it for free and i will use mods to enjoy it to the fullest

gold_drake459d ago

ill remember this comment and your account, when the game drops, i will document my experience with it and tell you, in full detail, whats going on in the games story.

im a good person after all.

onisama459d ago

I don't know about ''great'' rpg.

Most epic fight sequences and presentation? Yes

Worst side quests ever? Yes
Boring traversal? Yes
Empty worlds? Yes
Demo is infinitely more mature than the actual game? Yes
FF16=MMO side quests + Devil May Cry Lite

Alos8840d ago

I'd give it the great part, it's the RPG part I find dubious.

EternalTitan40d ago

There is no Roleplaying/decision making in this game.
No crafting there isnt even character builds because just like Dante/Bayonetta Clive has all skills and loadouts available to him.

CrimsonWing6939d ago (Edited 39d ago )

What do you mean there’s no role playing? Also, I’m fairly certain I made builds with Eikon abilities and I’ve gone to the blacksmiths to literally select craft weapons and gear. 🤷‍♂️

EternalTitan37d ago

How many 'builds' can you make?
Weapons and gear only increase numbers. Tell me about elemental weaknesses and status.

CrimsonWing6937d ago (Edited 37d ago )

@EternalTitan

Elemental weakness isn’t an RPG defining end-all-be all element.

What statuses are you asking about? F*cking status buffs and debuffs? You talking about stats that increase with gear crafting? Because all that’s present in the game.

The fact that you even admit there’s builds and RPG elements contradicts your claim. No matter how limited they may be, they exist in the game, therefore it is an RPG. I think the correct critique is instead of claiming it’s “not an RPG” you really mean to say it’s an RPG not as in-depth as it’s contemporaries. Regardless, it’s an RPG nonetheless even without “elemental weakness” playing in combat.

EternalTitan35d ago (Edited 35d ago )

@CrimsonWing69
"Elemental weakness isn’t an RPG defining end-all-be all element"
Why not?
Where is your source for this?

CrimsonWing6935d ago

@EternalTitan

So you’re telling me if a game has all the elements and mechanics of an RPG except elemental weakness exploits in combat that they’re not an RPG?

C’mon man, how about you show me where it says an RPG must have elemental weakness mechanics?

CrimsonWing6940d ago

Let’s be honest, this isn’t a “great” RPG. I am in the camp that it IS an RPG, no DMC game I’ve played is designed like this… but in terms of being a great RPG… well, I much prefer the RE-Trilogy over this.

That being said, I do think the DLCs have probably the best boss battles I’ve played in a game. Omega was crazy and the battle theme just amplified that for me. In the other hand, I’m struggling to think of a game that has a boss battle as great as Leviathan. Like, I played it on FF mode and it was sooooo intense and just a gorgeous and fun experience. The music was also top notch!

However, I really disliked most of everything of FF16. The Benedikta arc was fantastic, but after that the game was boring and a slog to get through. I think the boss battles were the best parts, but also inconsistent for me. Bahamut was peak for the base game, but everything else didn’t surpass that experience until you play the DLC bosses.

VersusDMC40d ago

The 2 DLC's were great. 2 new eikon ability sets (leviathan and...) and a survival/bloody palace mode with Rising Tide were great as well.

repsahj40d ago

The Base game is already great for me IMHO and the 2 DLC will even make it better.
