Seems like they're re-using some of the cave demo's nanite assets a bit. Which is fine but I expect a studio like Coalition to brew up some new assets and environments. But then again they had little time and this is just a tech demo.

Its a GDC talk about many things of UE5, this was just a screenshot in the blog post for what they will be discussing.

Wow! Microsoft can't put out a new game but their Studios have time and money for this. On top of that we already know what UR5 looks like. Plus the last tech demo we seen from Microsoft was more than a little misleading....ummm something to do with what was the name of that global block buster.... thinking...thinking ohhhhh Crackdown 3!

This is what studios do when they are trying to get familiar with a new engine. It is part of the initial development costs. This is basically what was done when Gears of War 3 was converted over to PS3. They couldn't release the game obviously since it was an Xbox IP but the work was done so that they could get the engine running on the platform.

They probably have other assets they haven't shown or they are being worked on i would guess.

Because it was not exclusive to the PS5 like everyone was led to believe. The demo was not "for the PS5" it was shown running on the PS5.

All the features shown in the UE5 tech demo running on the PS5, are available to all the other platforms.

The features are ofcourse gonna be the same though, its the same engine.

I do wonder though why epic made a demo for sony but didn't for ms, if it wasn't exclusive or built for the ps5 like you say?, why not show land of the nanite running on the xbox too?

Ok, so can we say that this tech demo is "built for the Series X, on the Series X" then?

To run something on a platform, you have to build it for that platform lmao, if the features are the same, and it is the same engine, then how is it specifically "built" for the PS5? something that is specifically built for a platform would include features not available to others, otherwise it is just the engine running on the PS5, which is exactly what it is.

If it was "made for the PS5" it would only be available on the PS5, epic did not make the nanite/lumen demo for the PS5, they just used the PS5 to showcase the engine's capabilities.

They could easily have shown the same demo on PC/Series X.
