I literally only use the Steam wishlist to help me not forget about games lol. I don't use it to send to friends/family for gifts, or even buy stuff off of for myself (as I only buy games on sale, and use isthereanydeal for deals). But it helps to have a list I know any game I had even a flash of interest in is likely on, even if I forgot the name (or even forgot completely about lol).
