Take-Two Says GTA Remasters Is a "Great and Encouraging Question" To Ask

Take-Two Interactive was asked about potential GTA Remasters during their earnings call, and the CEO called it a great question.

Ngl I tried super hard to get into GTA IV circa 2010-2011 and I just couldn't do it. It just controlled like complete shit. I probably got like 8 hours in.

Far from it. It had a good story, but the walking and driving was horrible and it had about half the features, weapons and vehicles than the much older San Andreas.

GTA Vice City, San Andreas and III are the best GTA games for me. I'd take a remaster of all three in a collection. Can't be that hard to do.

The titles from PlayStation 2 and PlayStation portable would be amazing but let's not forget the fact this is take two. They will put the least amount of work possible to charge full price

I'm gonna get a ton of disagrees I'm sure but... last month I played like 30+ hours of GTA4 and it just wasn't fun.

The story just kept introducing characters, having them betray you and then having them die over and over. It became so predictable. I didn't see it coming with Michelle but that's because it was a ridiculous plot point to begin with. She didnt cater to Niko's style at all like an undercover agent would do, and their relationship was doomed from the start. I just went for her to get my boi Niko some action. Story was boring and just kept dragging on and on and going nowhere - slice of life basically. Characters were incredibly unmemorable, driving was ass, the whole game felt clunky. The gameplay really really didn't age well at all.

And even with an i9-9900k and an RTX 2080 Super and 32GB of ram I couldn't get 60fps even if I set it to 720p. Horribly optimized.

Anyway I didn't beat it so maybe it gets better but I couldn't for the life of me understand why people loved it so much. Easily the worst Rockstar game imo. Just an absolute snore-fest.

Best thing to do is install the realistic driving and damage mod, which increases vehicle top speeds to realistic speeds and makes the vehicles take damage like real cars. (no more driving through light poles without catastrophic damage). it basically makes the game next-gen Driver. its perfection.

Gta4 had that amazing europhoria physics engine, i remember it feeling very revolutionary and is still impressive, why they didn't use it for gta5 is just bizarre. Maybe licencing or something but man it's great.

They had Euphoria in GTA5. It also isn't physics engine. It's a real-time animation engine.

Why on earth would anyone want remasters of old GTA versions ? The stories have been played through many times ( well I did anyway ) and the open world gameplay ( which is half the fun ) has been much improved in GTA V over the previous versions with regards to variety, size of the world, level of interactivity, etc. Even if you update San Andreas with GTA V graphics, the game is going to feel extremely limited and restrictive by today's standards. Rather focus on bringing us GTA VI than waste time on stuff like this.

Hmm, GTA 4 was my first GTA game and played it through multiple times and spent 100+ hours just simply roaming and starting shit with the police. I tried to play the previous GTA games but found them pretty boring in comparison but that's just my opinion.

Well it being ur first gta that was always going to be the case.

But the songs, vibes and humour from vice city and SA were way better than in gta 4, obviously the game play doesnt hold up well but at the time it was amazing.

Dont care aboyt the disagrees but gta 4 was drab and boring by gta standards.

Normally I prefer new games over remakes or remasters, especially when it comes to franchises where it takes forever for even one game to come out such as GTA. But fucking hell if they ever make a San Andreas remaster I would buy and play the fuck out of it.

I would also love to see a new Midnight Club but I won't hold my breath for that at this point. RIP
