Street Fighter 6 Will Release For PS5, Xbox Series, PS4, Xbox One, and PC - Report

Street Fighter 6 is apparently in development at Capcom and will be released for PS4, Xbox One, in addition to PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.

Capcom has bounced back since the start of last gen. I doubt they need much financial help with their games anymore, but if you want to be petty and bring it up, have fun.

Petty... it was an impossibility that Capcom really needed any $$ to help make SF. It is their biggest and most profitable franchise. The reasons they say vs the reality is that Capcom promised Sony an exclusive game (remember Deep Down??) and that didnt happen so they decided to give them SFV under the public announcement that Sony helped pay for its development. Do you also remember how they said they wouldnt make any Arcade or Super or Ultra editions?? Yeah they did so anything Capcom says people have started not really trusting them. They got around that part by making the content on the disc the same as it was at launch but changing the disc label and packaging.

Do you not remember all of Capcom's devs leaving? Games that they announced that they couldn't make because they didn't have funds to take the risk?

I don't see how anyone can deny that Capcom wasn't in financial trouble, seeing as how horrible they did in the PS3/360 era, and if Sony didn't help fund SF5, we probably wouldn't have had one. But go ahead and be PETTY, yes petty, because we know you guys wouldn't care if it was your preferred console that did it instead.

Try harder to have an opinion. At least you admit Sony is the one who goes out of their way to censor. It's a little more than just "anime boobs" but you at least have a spine.
I actually don't play the high majority of games that would fall under that, and my post feed would show as much, if you'd care to look through it.

I'll repeat, for the 7 thousandth time, I'm not an "Xbox fanboy". I never even bought an Xbox One. I owned both a 360 and PS3 last generation, and my last two consoles were a PS4 Pro, and a PS5.

So my issue isn't with Sony. It's with people like you who get whiney at any point someone gives criticism to something you like; and whose brain can't differentiate honest points of criticism from "fanboyism" for the other team, in a dumb little console war only you and your lot even give a s**t about.

Its always nice to see I'm not alone cuz BOY I've been thinking the same thing forever now. Everything is Street fighter, resident evil, and monster hunter. I can't complain too much since we did get dmc5 and pragmata is coming...eventually, but its irritating that before we get something new we have to get 17 resident evils or 8 street fighters.

I will never buy another Street Fighter again after V. The fact that Capcom put staple characters like Sagat, Blanka, and E-Honda behind a paywall really soured me on the franchise. Absolutely ridiculous that established characters such as those became DLC.

I just hope capcom doesn’t rush this game. I hope they release it complete at launch. With at least 20 or more characters. A story mode and arcade mode. Street Fighter 5 was a mess at launch. I hope capcom doesn’t make the same mistake with street fighter 6.

Oh they will rush it alright. Everything else can be bolted on through "updated" versions of the game and season passes. It's not a mistake, it's a money making strategy. "Milking"

That’s nice, I hope they can maintain the individuality of each character like they did in V. SFV is such a great game to me and I fully enjoyed playing it this gen and Platinuming it.

I loved the unified platforms of PC and PS4 but I am not fond of the amount of smurfing that went on. Or the amount of people who black listed ANY body with a “bad” connection in their eyes so they can increase their win chances.

I hope it takes all the foundation of V and builds on it more. Perhaps add more stages, story and second supers to every character.

The models and stuff can change idc either way but also maybe have more guest characters from other franchises?

Man I've been nervous that this would also be PS/PC exclusive like SFV. Making it multiplatform ALONE should ensure that it does way better than SFV. Hopefully they allow crossplay!

I wonder how many versions they’ll be? Battered with DLC, the released on disc under different titles. Wasn’t it SF4 or 5 that had 4 or 5 different versions?

There'll probably be 4. You have to remember this game will probably be the only Street Fighter title for the entire gen. So, once they have enough content and modes there'll be like a "Super", "Champion Edition", "Arcade Edition", "Ultra", etc.

Personally, the way I see it is you get one version and then keep up with whatever they add. These "newer" versions are just for people who are late to the game, so-to-speak.

I don't expect SFVI to happen before 2022, to be honest.

there's still a few announced characters that haven't been released.

If they want SFVI to do well, they better put a bunch more game modes and casual content in it, so casuals aren't completely turned away by the game's difficulty.

Otherwise the hardcore will maybe like it (though with how bad the complaints were for SFV, that's no longer a guarantee), and everyone else will likely ignore it, till it goes free on PSN plus.

I love street fighter and like other have already said, it is one of my Favorite games. After SFV though I am almost through with Capcom for the way they did this game.

Capcom put out this game bare bones and then additional characters, and levels and balancing, move sets, etc. All being dripped out over years...ON PURPOSE!!!! The game still doesn't have a full roster of characters yet!

I'm definitely not buying SF6 at launch. Capcom ruined SFV with those tactics man!
