Microsoft's purchase of Zenimax is arguably a good thing. Amazon is probably going to do something extreme. They likely will purchase a studio with very prominent IPs.

Simple: There is less competitive value in a streaming service that provides the end-result same quality across the board if they all have the same content. The best way to get people to use your service then relies entirely on pricing and content.

It's why movie subscription plans compete based on their library, not on their ability to stream 4k. They all do 4k.

Well, keep supporting these cloud gaming services and this would be the future...

Might need to subscrib to 5-6 services to play all your favourite games, with no option to just buy a physical or even a digital copies. All games become intentionally dragged on, with more grinding and perhaps more episodes, just so you stay on the subscription for longer.

As a gamer, I truly appreciate any developers that are still creating solid single player games that give you decent amount of content with a single price tag. Be it on PS, Xbox or Nintendo.

They would only do it if they are earning money, no one pointing a gun to our heads to subscribe or use these cloud gaming services. Imagine if Stadia shutdown... games that people bought on the platform, will they still have access to them? Or all the licenses are locked behind a pay gate? Almost like I have to subscribe to a service to wear the shoes that I bought with my own money.

If the only way to play new games is streaming then people will use streaming. You are incredibly naive if you think they can't force streaming. Or that enough people will just stop gaming to actually stop them... get real.

It's why we have DLC MTX and paid online. I never wanted any of those things, I have bought a number of DLC you could count on the finger of one hand and zero mtx yet it hasn't stopped it from being in every game.

Okay, let's be nice. but to be successful these days in this industry you will need exclusives or die. And they won't dish out 1 billion to 10 billion to buy studios. So maybe they should ask us first before they spend all that money on something they have no idea about. What a waste.
