Can not possibly be all AAA, i am guessing quite a few mobile/low budget games with a few AAA thrown in.

Abriael1461d ago

They gave a pretty specific breakdown. No, they're not all AAA and there's some mobile.

SaveFerris1461d ago

So we can expect next-gen ports of GTA5 and RDR2 then?

MrSugarholic1461d ago

They better not, with backwards compatibility being a thing across both PlayStation and Xbox.

SaveFerris1461d ago

Ah. Forgot about that. Would that also include the other GTA games?

umair_s511460d ago (Edited 1460d ago )

GTA IV and RDR ports would not hurt.

TheColbertinator1461d ago

Certainly. As we've seen people will pay full price for last gen remasters. The next gen will be no different.

Kabaneri1461d ago

GTA5 was already ported from last gen. That would be a triple dip for R*.

CrimsonWing691461d ago

Man, I was hoping we wouldn’t be seeing last-gen games on next-gen consoles since there’s backwards compatibility.

JEECE1461d ago (Edited 1461d ago )

It depends on what degree of "boost" the next gen systems have when playing games in BC, if any. For instance, you can play BioShock in BC on a XONE S, and there may be some small advantage compared to 360, but it won't be like playing the remastered version from the collection. Same thing with PS3 games; I mean, you can't do true BC there, but even if you could play the last of us on PS4 as it was on PS3, the remastered version is significantly smoother, etc.

Also, from a publisher's perspective, they probably know that there are certain people who won't buy old games for their new system, even if it can play them. So if they release an updated version of Borderlands 3 in early 2021, some people will buy that who would not have simply bought the old version. Heck, if you get on any story about Cyberpunk 2077 on here, there will be people who insist they are going to wait for the next gen version of the game to be made (and it's not a cross gen simultaneous release, they've already confirmed this).

umair_s511460d ago

I don't mind remasters as long as PS5 is still backwards compatible.

Mr_Writer851461d ago

@crimsonwing69

It will soon be nipped in the bud if the sales aren't there.

Which you hope they won't be.

DaniMacYo1461d ago

I don’t suppose they would ever reconsider AGENT. I was looking forward to that the idea and setting seemed really intriguing to me. I’m hoping they actually decide to revisit that concept and make that game a reality.

Great news it shows that Nintendo intends to continue developing ports of AAA games to its next gen platform

H915h ago

Buying studios from embracer now is a great deal, they must be dirt cheap at this point, Nintendo is a opportunist, they wait until someone fall so they get their best deal

OtterX9h ago

That is some serious brain gymnastics you have going on there. 🤔

H97h ago

I didn't do any gymnastics I can assure you, honestly I don't know why you think that, not hating I seriously don't see why you think that

ZeekQuattro4h ago

Yeah I don't know where that came from. It's rare for Nintendo to flat out aquire studios. Guess they were trying to be edgy but why flex on this studio. 🤣

banger8815h ago

I hope someone buys Piranha Bytes, their future isn't looking good right now. I love their RPGs, they're janky as f***, but they have heart and soul.

Relientk7712h ago

Nintendo saw the Mortal Kombat 1 Switch port and were like, "Yeah, these guys are worth acquiring."

You can't make this crap up lol

Profchaos10h ago

Mortal Kombat 1 was never going to port well I'm sure they told wb it wasn't going to work but wb wants that sweet sweet 140 million install base

In the end wb approved the project cleared the milestones and allowed the product to release

SonOfOsiris6h ago

Yeah this guys ported MK11 which is great, Hogwarts Legacy which is great, and MK1 is now ok, play it every day
