Nintendo Switch Lite hands-on preview: A cheaper, smaller but necessary iteration

We've tested the new Nintendo Switch Lite and come away thinking that it probably just pips the predecessor for handheld play.

As someone that almost never uses my dock, I think this is the best version of the Switch I could ask for (also, bonus battery life, woo!)

The battery life is actually shorter than the new revision of the standard switch, unfortunately.

Why tho? The size doesn't make it easier to carry and I'm saying that as a full grown man that been using phablet phones for year's. The battery life is the same as the v1 Switch which will be selling for under $200 on the used market. The v2 Switch is the one with double the battery life. I honestly don't see any benefits to the lite over the Switch unless you think the Switch is too heavy or want it for it's looks.

I'll stick with my old Switch I like being able to dock it and play on the go also plus if it's not compatible with certain games then it's a pass. Pretty sure collectors will jump on this and there is a fan base who just want the portability.

I wish they would do a version of a new Nintendo system for us that never game mobile. More powerful GPU/CPU and docked play only. If I'm away from my house, I'm doing things other than gaming. I literally have no desire to squint at a small 7" screen to game.

Your phone screen is most certainly not bigger than 7" and you don't even hold it at a full arm's length away from your face. Several feet away with a 7" screen, then yes, you'll squint.

Its powered by usbc, why cant u just have usb c to hdmi cord and attach it to a tv? Like we can with phones and laptops through usb c
