Apex Legends Hit 50 Million Players In A Month, Fortnite Took 16 Weeks

Apex Legends is doing really well. It is doing better than that actually since the number of users that have played Apex Legends is now outpacing Fortnite, which is the current global champion in the Battle Royale genre.

I know it's mostly because it's free, but I'm happy this game is kicking Anthem's ass to show how foolish EA is. Never marketed the game just like how they didn't push Titanfall 2. Respawn has repeatedly shown they're still one of the best out there and I hope EA either gives them a big push or let them go find an actual worthy publisher

I have friends that detest BR games but they have this a shot on my recommendation and they love it. So much fun.

I haven't played but from what I understand it's done right and is a lot of fun. Respawn are very talented it's disappointing more people didn't play titanfall 2

Titanfall 3 could be huge because of Apex now though. They should find a way to merge the two games. Have a launcher within Titanfall 3 that can go seamlessly into Apex, and vice versa, where you can bring party members or members you team up with.

I didn't "Yayyyy death to PUBG". Fortnite is just beyond insufferable and really not that great of a game. It was only popular because it catered to youth with pop culture and it was free.

Either way they frame it, it is dramatic so there's no need to complain about their wording. Fortnite is absurdly huge and Apex is hitting those huge numbers in a quarter of the time.

That one does look interesting. Battle Royale mixed with RPG just seems like a cool idea. I don't know how well it will take off but I definitely want to try it.

Yes...but it did that off the back of other BR games before it. Apex is the beneficiary of titles like Fortnite and PUBG...without those, their would be no Apex Legends. Why is it that we always play the vs card in this industry...

I can't believe a game that runs on the outdated Source Engine has made one of the most successful games of 2019, hope this teaches EA a lesson and will stop them from forcing their devs to use the complex Frostbite Engine.

Your right but don’t forget Bethesda Softworks (the publishing side) force their external devs to use complicated game engines like Cryengine and Id Tech, they are honestly just as bad as EA in that aspect.

Be fair fortnite brought a lot of non gamers into the fold then when the new hotness comes along they moved to that, the gaming community grew exponentially with pubg and fortnite and when the next big game comes along I’m sure it will beat apex’s numbers because apex will have brought in new gamers too.

The developers behind Apex are some of the best when it comes to FPS. I'm not surprised Apex took off the way it did. Game feels great to play.
