Streaming gives games a ton of clout, this is very backwards for Nintendo.

Erik73572422d ago (Edited 2422d ago )

The reason behind this decision is being controlling over the IP and how it's used.

Nintendo IP's are very critical and much more important to selling a Nintendo console than playstation exclusives are for selling a playstation console. They are very valuable and very important asset for Nintendo because they rely off their exclusives the most.

So somehow you turned something negative Nintendo is doing into a positive and the same time criticize PlayStation.

Wow just wow, i'm impressed.

Lon3wolf2422d ago

@2pac

I took it as a compliment "Nintendo needs the exclusives more than Sony" to sell their consoles.

Erik73572422d ago (Edited 2422d ago )

I mean its not really saying they are doing a good thing i'm just telling you they are very sensitive to how their IP's are used and this is why they act the way they do.

YEAH! Nintendo needs to protect their games from free advertising!!!1!111!!11!!!11

Nintendo has created a cult. And Erik is at the helm. Member #1. I'm astonished at how Nintendo fans can spin any negativity into postiveness.

But someone could be streaming mario and say a bad word! Yeah, who needs free advertisement? Nintendo could stand to grow up maybe a little but they're stuck in neverland.

FloydianAndroid2422d ago

This is Nintendo being Nintendo. They don't realize how much it helps the brand to provide let's plays and reviews. They continue to be the most out of touch company ever. Their games are amazing, but how they market their brand is so underwhelming. They could care less what their fans want.

kneon2422d ago

I don't get it. It's as if they have no interest in expanding their fan base.

Nintendo hates free advertising

DreadGara2422d ago

Sounds like they are jealous of of every penny people are getting from YouTube so they decided to Youtubedont.

Vits2422d ago

Well, they already take 30% to 40% of the revenue from all youtube channels affiliated with their program. And if your channel or video is not affiliated with it, but it is about one of their games you can not monetize it at all.

SegaGamer2422d ago

How can they be so out of touch ? Maybe it's time they got somebody else in to make these decision's because this is just stupid. They obviously don't realise that streaming games can help sell a game.

PapaBop2422d ago

Two steps forward, one step back.

Nodoze2422d ago

One step forward, 10 steps back.

Black0ut2422d ago

@Papa

But that would mean they'd still be going forward...

This policy is some legit backwards trash. Pick your game up, Nintendo.

BlaqMagiq12421d ago

This isn't even one step forward.

So it looks like they have abandoned unreal for future iterations of the game and are sticking with ego. So that means no decent VR support on PC and none on console seeing as the ego can't handle it properly. I think I'm done with this franchise it's turned into fifa with a hefty price tag and no innovation from one year to the next. Time for someone else to have a go at this licence
