I'm afraid I'm perfectly happy with my PS3 and what it gives me in content, games and choice.
Did you know that EDF2017, Crackdown and the Geometry Wars are my favourite games on my 360?
Are those graphical masterpieces? No, they are not. But they are freaking brilliant in gameplay, do the 360 crowd use them as examples of great exclusives on the 360? No, they DON'T.

However; Whenever I type on this 'POS site' on most articles I keep on hearing how 'Gears looks when combating any PS3 game. That's great, that's brilliant for a game based on middleware capable of great graphics on ANY platform.

Its the fact that on 360 only 'high graphical quality' games get the credit given, wherever they are crap or not. Halo3 hadn't made a large jump despite being on much powerful hardware, it still looked graphically similar to Halo1 and SHOULD of looked a lot more stunning being on a next gen console, it should of been leaps and bounds and it wasn't, not even in gameplay.

The games being something fresh get constantly ignored on 360 and so far; that hasn't happened on PS3, also no game has personally let me down since early 2007 on the system also some PS3 games are looking incredible, not just in graphics, but artistic direction and are being made by veteran PS developers who can deliver the goods in gameplay too without sacrificing either because they did in previous generations.

So that's how I came to my conclusion, alright?

And yes, the XBOX was more powerful than the PS2, problem is; other than Halo and a few ports of PC games, did it really do anything with that extra power?
Bear in mind the PS2 still had great games even though the system was limited, but they still, artistically; looked and played great.

No, thats just the fact that PS3 games, especially exclusives since late 2007 have the gameplay to fit in with the gameplay.

I'd personally play a game that's bigger with less graphics. EDF2017 is a fantastic example of that.

But since I've appeared on this site, I've seen 360 fanboys whenever a PS3 game come up and claim that 'Gears1 or '2 looks better than any PS3 game or the system has 'no good games but MGS4' and this pure crap about 'AAA games' which the media tells you, there are PLENTY of brilliant games on PS3 and most the exclusives are worth a play and are seriously underrated, mainly, because they aren't on 360.

Also stupid comparison videos, even stooping down to colour palette in the recent case of Pure, just to make the PS3 look a little bit worse than the 360 versions because the technical differences between both consoles are now pretty much equalised. When all that needs to be done is the magic of two notches on a remote and contrast.

Killzone2? So what, it looks freaking great, the first one wasn't really that good, but the developer seemed to of learned from other games since and looks stunning. It really does and its only for PS3, so its something worth celebrating that we have such a focused developer on the platform that haven't used middleware and made the game from scratch.

I don't care what anyone says; the 360 isn't the messiah everyone thinks it is.
It plays games, and that's about it and MS try to squeeze every ounce of cash out of you after buying the damn thing in order to get the full experience.
Its a good console, but MS LIMIT EVERYTHING and that's how it fails. If the 360 wasn't managed by MS or had a different management scheme maybe assuming not all 360 owners are 'hardcore gamers' and want to play numberous fees for interacting with friends, it would undoubtedly be a bit better and nearer to those glory XBOX days where I could be seriously happy supporting both consoles equally.

I also prefer my PS3 because the way the system hasn't moulded its corporate and public identity mainly through two game franchises and ignored everything else between.
The PS3 is a big black monolith with brilliant features, its not defined by anything but itself, the games don't make the machine.

If any game defines the PS3, its Uncharted. That game is simply amazing in every sense and did things which were though of 'off the map' of what the public and media thought the machine was capable of.

Honestly, I have a PS3 Bias for my own reasons I wont lie. I do appreciate 360 and Wii though. If I was going to look at all the games ive played this gen and pick one for the best gameplay. I would pick Warhawk personally. Its just my game so far this Gen ( especially since they added Jet packs.) that and MGS4/MGO, Crysis and Bioshock also.

Lol, why would anyone that actually owns BOTH consoles argue?! Neither one has a clear advantage over the other in terms of graphics. Although I have to say that my 360 has less jaggies than my PS3 but my PS3 has less "hiccups".

If you want to argue anything about either console it should be multiplayer experiences, features, online stores, exclusives, and peripherals.

But the graphics are so close (and outdated) on both consoles I really can't see having an honest objective argument when they are so close to each other n looks.

I recently started listening to the Warzone about 2 months ago and I like it. HOWEVER, I dislike how they keep complaining about fanboys in general. Ok, there are people taking it to the extreme, but I don't really see any point in spending quality time for bashing and complaining.

Regarding the title, I have to disagree because it's a general question. There are games in this generation that offers great graphics, but comes short in gameplay. TO mainly focus it towards "PS3 Fanboys" is incorrect as most fanboys do it.

I mean look at the hype for Killzone 2 and Heavy Rain and things on this site. A lot of it's based on the visuals.

Yeah, the Killzone 2 previews have come out and they were damn good, but the hype and excitement was there before they came out.

I do think it's mostly the PS3 fanboys that do the graphics over gameplay thing. 360 fanboys are all about the gameplay over graphics if the game doesn't look too good though.

I do think it has to be said though, that in this case, the 360 fanboys have better logic than the PS3 ones.

360 fanboys don't want to argue about graphics because their system is losing in this particular category. Also, gameplay is subjective based on individual taste; whereas graphics are not and thus make for good comparison of a systems strength. On top of that, gameplay has nothing to do with the strength of a system and does not support a fanboys argument over which system is more advanced, or anyone's argument. If you don't like RPGs than you would not be partial to the gameplay.

Graphics are just as good, except maybe in draw distance but the races are more fun and the tricks add a ton of disversity to the races. Using different vehicles in MS does change it up a bit but it still gets boring faster. Both games have alternate paths so that is a draw.

It's funny how certain points are never mentioned or addressed with biased sites & their "reporting". I got a example to clear some of this up a bit more, remember playing GoldenEye 007 (or any other similar game/situation) for the N64? How many times have players died in game because they couldn't SEE the other player because of poor GRAPHICS...or even hit a corner while racing a car in a NFS/GT type game? I think people can understand where I am getting at.

So graphics actually DO make a difference in GAMEPLAY, and for those that will argue "bu bu but the gameplay sucks on teh POS3"...I somehow doubt you have EVER actually played anything on a PS3 if you really beleive that.

I Totally agree. Graphics affects game play and playability. Not to the extent of being the be all and end all, but it has a huge affect on how much fun I get out of it. Think back to when xbox came out and how many times you heard "xbox graphics sh!ts on ps2". Not that they weren't telling the truth,(there are a few exceptions) so theres nothing new about arguing about graphics. It is a general perception that progression in video games should start with progression in graphics, and IMO there's nothing wrong with that.

I'm honestly tired of this "Ps3 fanboys vs 360 fanboys" sh*t to be honest. Now if i'm reading funny comments from each side while they argue about something relatively simple and moot, fine. But i find it that alot of conversations get caught up in both sides going at each other and graphical superiority. Hardly anyone talks about gameplay. And that's from both sides. I'd rather talk about new concepts and gameplay mechanics, story progression and character depth to tell the truth. I'm not a big graphics person and think relatively both consoles have been putting out similar quality games graphically.

Though i do think Killzone 2 stands head and shoulders above what i've seen so far this gen graphic wise. It's pretty much the only game that have made me go wow from how it looks. I'm still sketchy on how the single player will hold up and i'm hoping the A.I and character animation is up to snuff as well.

Same here, I know many PS3 owners are excited about Resistance 2 and Motorstorm 2 but I personally couldn't get into it in terms of gameplay. I know my friends enjoyed it but no matter how I try I just couldn't really get into the story and etc. Graphic on the game is great but I need more than good graphic.
Then again, I've always been an rpg especially JRPG guy, RTS, adventure/action gamer. While most people will get games with great graphic, I'm going for games like Valkyria Chronicles, LittleBigPlanet, and Mirror's Edge.

Same here. I'd add the new Prince of Persia to that list as well. Mirrors Edge, LBP and Prince of Persia are my most anticipated games for this year. I don't really like the conventional fps's and i don't like RPG's (specially JRPG's) but i love action adventure games and just about every other genre. I still play a few fps's the deus ex's, portal's and Mirrors Edge's.

I got my eye out on Brutal legend as well. But i doubt it'll come out this year sadly. Beyonetta is another game i have my eye one.

Agree with you all, and right on Thom! Too many 'gamers' are getting caught up in the little details that they're missing the bigger picture.

For those people who played GTAIV on the PS3 and Halo 3 on the 360 and enjoyed them... I doubt anything changed when/if they found out the games were running below 720p. I mean it's just silly that these types of things have become something to use in arguments over quality. If it was huge framerate problems or other issues that directly effect the gameplay then that's a bigger deal... but most of the things that people compare and tout as 'superior' are differences that have minimal to no effect on the player's experience.

I understand it's this 'who has the bigger d*ck' mentality that goes on but it doesn't even have a thing to do with you really. It's more like 'whose friends have the bigger d*ck'.

But of course in the minds of some... both (or all) consoles can't be good. One has to be the supreme ruler or games will somehow cease to be fun when you play on them! But if you look to anything other than your own opinion you'll almost always find yourself being hypocritical. If Metacritic means everything, the Wii has the two highest rated EXCLUSIVE games. If sales mean everything then the Wii will again shut you up time and time again... unless you're a Wii fan that is. But of course the wii doesn't count in the eyes of most right? Yeah, that's because to the people that care so damn much about insignificant things it's easier just to plug your ears and cover your eyes to the things you wish not to see.

I think it's perfectly fine to be a fan... or to lean towards one side... but it's when you go one step farther and try to prove that your choice is the only correct or 'right' one that you've taken it too far.

When the playstation fanboys are using the graphical argument, then its usually after an xbox fanboy has gone ahead and said "We have the better gpu". You could call me a fanboy for this, but i can't see how anyone can disagree - two of the most graphically impressive games this console gen are both out, exclusivly on the ps3.

I'm sorry but I've never, ever, EVER experienced anything quite like the 360. Don't misinterpret that last sentence, the 360 is nothing to celebrate. I greeted its release with a turned up nose. Being of PS2 and PC decent, I welcomed the 360 very harsh, bashing everything about it.

Until I bought one. Bought the charge adapter cable, stole a second (cabled) controller. I then bought Guitar Hero 2, rented Gears of War 2 along with Rainbow Six:Vegas, and Call of Duty 3. None of my rentals were granted a return back to their home at HollyWood video.

Until my 360 shone its true color. RED. Now this happened to occur right after my warranted ended. Lucky me eh? Not really. Lucky that I could scam this machine for some store credit? Yes.

The store credit of course was used to buy a PS3, the machine I put off month after month because well... I had a 360. Nothing the PS3 had interested me at the time, even MGS4! Little did I know how much greater the PS3 actually was. The fact that my PS3, among many others, is still running to this day, is the first and best reason, why the PS3 is better.

I will have a counter point to all my replies, so don't bother twisting my words or pointing out the 360's few and minuscule advantages, because honestly, it does not matter. The PS3 is the console of choice for SMART people, and the support it's getting by developers and consumers alike is finally starting to reflect this.

Because 95% of all xbox 360 "ONLY" owners are poor and have to live by nominal means. They often long for more features out of their system, other than a convenient space heater of course, and often times they save up for a ps3. They do. It's true, they do... only, like all poor people, they break down and start spending about half way there and whatda' know, the next thing you see sittin' on a milk crate in their living rooms is an xbox 360. Probably bought second hand from a used game store too.

Both Xbox and Playstation fans argue about Graphic quality... I'd say that Graphic quality is argued over more than anything else.

Lately there's been games on the PS3 (Heavy Rain, Killzone 2, etc...) that has shown great improvements over any game on the Xbox 360 graphically, and throughout this console war there's been arguments about which console has better graphics, PS3 or 360. The reason why Playstation fans "might" be arguing about graphics so much is because the PS3 is showing that it indeed is capable of better graphics with it's upcoming games that I mentioned above.... but either way you can't put PS3 fans in one boat because 360 fans do it as well.

You only get gameplay value out of a game depending on the amount of time you put into it... you play a game on easy or normal and beat it. you will say it does not have gameplay because it was easy. When 7 out of 8 players can glitch out of the map online,crab walk,shotgun glitch,ect,ect online... you can crab walk during campaign,the wrecthes jump up and down in one spot over and over. The locust hide out of cover next to the cover spot and you can stop the locust from appearing if you drop a grenade inside of the spawn spot. You can cause the animation to glitches you out of fighting the wrecthes in the cave level.. Is this gameplay?? the game won game of the year with all these problems and more.. Im getting sick of posts like this. People are always gonna try to say their system is better and the reason people rip on the wii is because nintendo didnt have to put near as much money into their system and they are still owning in sales, and the fact that they are going for casual gamers only helps their sales considering they dont get bored of games as fast and they are a much bigger audience and they dont take time to look up which system is better like ohh that has better graphics and more hardware space so im gonna get that over wii, no they just care about what looks more fun, sitting there pushing buttons or standing up moving your arms or bending over and other movements. The wii is a family console unlike ps3 and xbox360, it will have non gamers in the family to play like grandparents and parents. So if sony and microsoft copy nintendo with motion sensing for their next console i dont think it will do so good considering all these ps3 and 360 fanboys are saying that that type of gameplay is lame and has bad controls, so unless they are ripping on it just because their console doesnt have it, it wont do so good, and another reason is if they try to please the casual audience they will also fail because they like cheap consoles they arnt gonna want to pay $400 for a console that has less casual games and just for better graphics which they dont care about.
