Nintendo reveals that they are working on multiple new IPs for the Switch

After decades of sequels and spin-offs based on their beloved IP, Mario, Nintendo now feels compelled to create something new presumably in terms of a video game franchise now that the Nintendo Switch lands big on the video game market.

Let's be honest; even if they are substantial or interesting, all it will take is one person bitching about its art style, or comparing it to a game on another system with similarities, or calling it "kiddy" or "not AAA enough", to trigger a flood of haters saying it IS shovelware and to just get a different system.

I'm honestly happy that they keep trying new things, even if not all of them are AAA material.
That includes entirely new spin-offs using familiar characters.

The problem comes from that you and many other users have criticised many users on this site for suggesting that they need new intellectual properties ,only to leech onto this article in joy when you hear they're making new intellectual properties, so I don't understand?

When we suggest they need it you're in defense saying they don't, but when they come out and say they're doing it suddenly you're happy and it's a great thing? Why wasn't it great when we were suggesting it for the longest time?

No, the problem comes from you and others like you insisting that their IP's thus far are old, stale, unexciting, rehashed, etc, when they're anything but that, while in the same breath playing up new IP's everywhere else that are so close in form to other IP's that there's very little difference outside of semantics. (Dark Souls and Bloodborne, for instance, but for the sake of keeping this short I'll stop while I'm ahead.)

It was, contrary to the words of haters that are, even now, looking down upon projects like ARMS, the Splatoon franchise, project S.T.E.A.M., and others that Nintendo has come out with which get nothing but scorn from, ironically, many of the same none-Nintendo gamers that play up stuff like Rocket League.

Good news. I'd like another crack at S.T.E.A.M. But a proper game not on 3DS. I felt that game was too ambitious for its small confines. and please no bullsh!t like 1 - 2 Switch.

Why don't you just buy a Switch right now, then? Microsoft's track record when it comes to exclusive IPs is absolutely terrible, outside of the big hitters Halo, Gears and Forza.

Good point. I grew up on Nintendo and while I'm sure Breadth of the Wild is fantastic and the new Mario looks interesting I want something new from them. I'm gonna give it till this holiday to decide. At this point though Nintendo is ahead. I know I said want new IPS and I do but if at E3 they drop a Metroid bomb then it's all over!
