Nice Nice, I already had a 4kTV bought one this summer. I just bought the PSVR and played it enough to know the difference between the 2 when I launch the same games on the PS4Pro, I also just bought Titanfall, Deus Ex and Skyrim because they have Pro upgrades so I want to experience the what's new as well. I haven't unwrapped Deus Ex though that may happen sometime next week.

Darth...I've already said those are some of the best looking games this year, and by far the best looking xbox/win10 games. But since we are talking about the ps4 I seen no reason to bring them up.
Check my comments if you thought I had a bias. Smh. You wish I had a bias..I'm just critical in the bad that MS does, I praised forza h3 and gears.....especially forza h3, it's the better looking game of the 2. People just choose to ignore the complements I give xbox games when they look good.

Trust me there's a huge difference from 1080p to 4k, its 4 times the pixels on screen if its native. Especially in open world games that have a good draw distance, things in the distance look so much clearer and have a lot more detail.

Yea, I'm with you. I'm all about my PSVR right now as it is. Everyone hyping out about 4K gaming, which is kinda sad. PSVR is so much more than anything else going on in gaming right now. It's the next huge leap to get excited about, instead of a few extra pixels! It's completely immersive and people need to really give it a go. I used to be all about graphics too, until I tried the VR. Seems like people are getting more excited about a couple extra shrubs in a game, than actual full immersion. Sad

If you are an existing PS4 owner, there is no real reason to get PS4 Slim or Pro. I would rather get PS VR, but I don't recommend that either right now. VR is still very much tech demo right now.

If you are new to PS and dead set on getting a PS, then I would highly recommend only getting PS4 Pro. PS4 Slim is a poor deal and nobody should bite on that.

Next year it will be more worth it cause there will be more games that supports the updates and more gamers will have a 4K UHDTV that supports HDR10. The price may also be lower as well. It's definitely worth getting if you want to upgrade your PS4. Skip the PS4 Slim entirely. The PS5 probably won't get announced until the end of 2018. So this will be the PS4 to own for awhile.

This is the closest we've ever come to feeling part of the world you are in, with PSVR. I can honestly say I definately prefer it to traditional gaming. In a lot of ways it has ruined my normal gaming. When I've tried to go back to my usual gaming, it doesn't feel right. I don't enjoy it like I did before. I was one of those people that wanted nothing to do with the PSVR. I gave it a try and was blown away. It definately is a huge leap in gaming. When I first tried battlezone and was looking around in my cockpit, I felt a sense of clostraphobia. PSVR actually scared me at just how real it felt. It put me into its own world and made me forget where I was even sitting. I cannot say enough good things about the PSVR, other than it's completely changed the way I look at games now. I think everyone needs to experience it. I want to play every game thru it! Very hard for me to play traditional now.

at the end of the day, every game has to be playable first on ps4, and then patched for pro, so the core game is still the same, patch can be frame rate increase for SP, more assets on screen, longer draw distances. stuff liek that

All the TV experts say HDR is a bigger deal than 4k, but the only way you can get it is with a 4k TV. As an 4k HDR TV owner I have watch regular Blu-rays vs 4k Blu-ray and the color is so much better on the 4k Blu-rays.

Well the Pro is another PS4 which is why Sony wont make games exclusive to it. I believe COD is the first game designed to take advantage of the Pros hardware. Next year Sony has Horizon which will show off the Pros hardware quite well.

Ok, that explains the update last night.

I started playing LToU for the first time since it launched last night. I'm on the Remastered version and I'm not far into the game but it's ot the same. I LOVED the game on my first playthrough and I purposefully take long breaks between replays of games I love but I'm not sure what it is that had me not enjoying it last night?!

It could be the 60fps option but when I toggled back to 30 I realized 60 was a huge bonus. The cut scenes didn't feel too "fast" or soap opera-ish, like I'd heard they were at 60fps. The game itself felt clunky and nothing like the amazing experience I had a few years ago.

I play old games all the time so it's not an issue of tech, etc. I still love the MGS series (just finished it again this year), Uncharted series (all but 4 on PS3) and many others. Maybe I'm not far enough yet to really get back into it but something about the Remaster feels "off".

Anyone with the same issue and/or should I replay on PS3? I'm almost at the Capitol and it felt more like a chore so far than one of my favorite titles ever, despite being pumped to play again. Is it the Remaster or am I in need of mental council (ha)?

Cutscenes aren't in 60fps as far as I'm aware, they are hardcoded to the original version of the game, which is why they look blurrier than the gameplay. I definitely would not revert to the PS3 version; Perhaps you don't recall, but the framerate is all over the place in comparison.

It is an aging game, but still one of the best experiences in recent memory. If you really need help getting it to play as you remember it, try adjusting either the difficulty or sensitivity level. However, I would suggest waiting for the Pro version if you plan on spending the big bucks for the total gaming package.

This is still the major concern for HDR, much like it once was for 4K years ago. Unless you have two-and-a-half grand to spend, I would suggest waiting for next year's lineup of TVs. If at all possible, you want the lag to be about 20ms or less in game mode (which sadly diminishes certain features of many sets), but if you aren't playing highly responsive games (e.g. fighting games, twitch shooters, etc.) then you can settle for 40ms. You may even get lucky and find a TV that can do 40ms without game mode, keeping the full HDR working. Honestly, finding a perfect match for any one person is nearly impossible currently.

I wouldn't tell anyone to buy a 40ms response time 4K TV tbh, in 1-2 years when games are even more demanding on the PS4 Pro those buyers will regret buying a "slow" TV like that. 30 ms tops with HDR is what you want if you buy a TV today. You can find reviews sites all over internet that are specialised on HD/4K and HDR TV's.
The more time you research now, the longer the TV will last you and the more money you save (for buying games ofc !!) :)
