Opinions are like buttholes...everyones got one

Gaming_Cousin2762d ago

Strange... I wonder where this second one came from..

mikeslemonade2762d ago

Xbox one controller is the best mass-market controller. And it feels like the best also.

kaizokuspy2762d ago

@Mike I never liked the nipple sticks. Just too dainty for me. Then again, I loved the duke

just_looken2762d ago

@mike

You mean the dreamcast design Sega started then M$ stole? ha ha

I prefer sony style the two thumb sticks layout is so wrong. Sense 1997 i like my thumb sticks next to each other,

UnHoly_One2762d ago

That Switch controller looks kind of cheap, like an Ouya controller.

@just
So first you make up some weird imaginary world where MS is the bad guy again.... And then you go on to say your preference.

Good job.

Stolen or not it doesn't change the fact that many controllers follow the current toy Xbox signature layout controller.

And some are from full of shit and just blow hot air

affrogamer2762d ago

you heard of anal atresia before? Yea not everyone got a butthole lol

Erik73572762d ago (Edited 2762d ago )

IDC as someone who has used a bunch of controllers the xbox analog layout is a god send. I'm glad they have done this and this could be my new favorite controller if it could also work with pc.

jaymacx2762d ago

true but being negative without experiencing something is foolish. I value someones opinion more when they at least give things a chance.

It's literally the big thing I took away from the trailer to be honest. Not the gimmicks or handheld part, the fact that they had a normal controller ready at the start.

Shame they didn't make it look like the Gamecube since it looks a little like a unofficial Xbox controller but beggars can't be choosers.

Now hopefully we'll see a bundle with this included. I don't want to have lots of bits and bobs lying around like the Wii U. All I want is a console and the controller or my choice.

freshslicepizza2762d ago

well the industry seems to have adopted microsoft's style of controllers. looks like sony is the only one who thinks their layout is still the best. i just dont see how the switch controllers look comfortable and will this one come with another charge like they did on the wii u?

Red_Renegade2762d ago

sony prolly has a patent on their layout.

Monster_Tard2762d ago

It's the style that Microsoft has used with their consoles, but the GameCube controller had a similar layout and that was out a couple months before Xbox was, so I wouldn't give all the credit to Microsoft.

Paytaa2762d ago

@Monster_Tard the Xbox pad is just built on the Dreamcast controller's foundation with the added analog stick and eventually bumpers and other face buttons. Don't think they copied the Gamecube. Nintendo should have stuck with that design though. Still very comfortable to this day.

BizarroUltraman2762d ago (Edited 2762d ago )

@Monster Tard,

Why cant MS get credit? Aside from maybe similar button layouts. The gamecube controller itself looked weird and didnt feel as good as the Xbox s controller. The Xbox controller was a monstrosity but has maintained the core look for much of its lifespan especially after the orignal Xbox S controller came out. And since then most of the industry has copied that style. None have looked like Nintendo contollers and not many like the Dualshocks either. So yes Im gonna give credit to MS.

freshslicepizza2762d ago

gamecube does get credit for stick placement but the xbox was designed with the triggers to really go after shooting game controls and racing games.

rainslacker2761d ago

More like MS adopted the PC industries style of controller. The layout was similar to a lot of the PC analog controllers before the OGXbox was ever conceived Saturn even had an analog controller with the same analog placement, and the same six button layout before dreamcast did. So, it's not really MS style, because they didn't invent the layout years before they ever got into manufacturing consoles.

Xbox controllers are good. So is the WiiU pro controller and the DS4. All this contention over which is best just seems rather stupid to me.

Erik73572762d ago

I'm glad they have this analog layout, much superior to the dualshock analog layout in my opinion.

mcstorm2762d ago

I agree. For me I have big hands and when I use the PS controllers for an hour or so I get cramp when using the sticks. I don't get this on the Xbox controller and I did not get it on the WiiU pro controller to.

Rippcity2761d ago

Agreed Fox, they are missing a huge opportunity not turning an updated Gamecube controller into their flagship controller going forward; however, the new pro controller doesn't look bad at all. We can dream though can't we :(

rjason122761d ago

Nintendo had the pro controller ready at the start of Wii U.

-Foxtrot2761d ago

It wasn't bundled with it though...

PhoenixUp2762d ago

My take away from this.

- Once again Nintendo switches back forth between asymmetrical and symmetrical controllers, and no that was not a pun.
- We can't use this Pro Controller on the go while the NS is portable? If this controller is as comfortable as this article says it is, it'd be hard to adjust to another control scheme after this preferred one.
- I can't seem to find a headphone jack on this thing. Looks like Nintendo still hasn't learned.

Erik73572762d ago

Nor has microsoft, they don't have headphone jacks either. Personally that does suck though

2762d ago
Erik73572762d ago

Not the standard one I got and majority of people got.

ctmaudi2762d ago (Edited 2762d ago )

Even the standard controllers have had headphone jacks since 2014. Only the launch window / early 2014 ones didn't. So the majority of people do have one with a headphone jack.

BizarroUltraman2762d ago

Actually all MS controllers now have jacks. The original xbox one controllers didnt have jacks tho maybe thats why you still assumed it.

deafdani2762d ago

Yes, you can use the Pro controller on the go as well. And yup, seems like no headphone jack.

lastking952762d ago

The revised versions, elite and slim have jacks.

LAWSON722762d ago (Edited 2762d ago )

People say that about the DS4, and let me tell you despite liking PS, the triggers cramp up my hands forcing me to use the shoulder buttons instead. I personally would rather use my Xbone controller, a 360 controller, or probably this (looks quite similar to Xbox design). Simply put it all comes down to preference

Yohshida2762d ago (Edited 2762d ago )

Ds4 is leagues above ds3, but that was a horrible Controller. Yet people claiming the ds4 is better than Xbox 360/One make me always giggle. Compared to those its not even the same league.

Just look at what Controller Design got stolen more and what PC gamers use and you see im right.

FanMan2762d ago

i like the ds4 more than the xboxone contoller. pc gamers use the xbox contoller because its compatible with a lot of pc games right out of the box.

game4funz2761d ago

@fan man
Even normal pro controllers follow the Xbox layout. It's okay. Nothing to do with compatibility as I believe both are compatible. Have you seen the recent Playstation pro controllers? Yea those also followed the Xbox layout. GameCube... Same... Switch pro controller.... Again The assymetrical layout.
