No, but its definitely the Xbox One's Quantum Break.

i completed qb last night and have to say i thought the story was outstanding and the combat was better than i thought it would be. its biggest problem is movement is a bit clunky but overall i thought it was a really good game i don't think it will be anywhere near uncharted though.

babadivad2972d ago

Only trolls who haven't played it are hating on it. Speaking of trolls, Remedy better be developing Alan Wake 2. They are trolling us pretty damn hard with AW throughout Quantum Break.

MagicBeanz2972d ago

So anyone who says anything remotely negative about it hasn't played it huh? So all those low scores it got were from people who hadn't played the game to make the review? You need to deal with the fact the game didn't do as well as people thought it would.

81BX2971d ago

Playing it now. Excellent game.. shooter mechanics could use some work but overall its good. Wish they would stop that grainy look it has also sometimes i get some motion blur when characters move. Amazing detail overall as well.

Morgue2971d ago

The story is no different than anything you would see on the SYFY channel at best and the only thing intriguing about it is the underlying message they are feeding you. That aside. I'm on act 5 and the action and overall flow of the game has finally picked up and is quite incredible at times when mixed with your powers and I wish that the whole game would've been like this.

Depending on what's left too find. I'll end up finishing the game with an almost 80% completion which isn't bad all things considered and for a first play through. Yet I will probably trade it in along with the Alan Wake codes because I already have those and the game.

babadivad2971d ago

@Magicbeans

No, you can be critical without trolling. I'm talking about the people saying, it's "just a lame tv show". You know they are trolls, but they get the most up votes. The story is excellent. The game play is extremely solid. It's not the best 3rd person shooter I've ever played but it's still very fun. I like the creativity the powers give you when dealing with enemies. The shooting mechanics are no worse than Uncharted in that category *granted I've only played unchanged 1 but still*. So, like I said, it's possible to criticize without trolling.

just bought the game on PC hope its runs good on my GTX 970.. NO nvdia gameworks disappointing.

esemce2972d ago

It runs very poorly even on a titan GPU: http://www.eurogamer.net/ar...

343_Guilty_Spark2971d ago

That's because DX12 games in general run better on AMD cards

kevnb2971d ago (Edited 2971d ago )

It's playable at medium for now, I'm sure it will get better soon enough. It's a new engine on a still new api on the windows store. A few updates and maybe a driver update should help.

butchertroll2972d ago (Edited 2972d ago )

Xbone's Uncharted??? Just no! I mean, BIG NO! You can find that somebody thinks that QB is the Last Of Us. LOL!

https://twitter.com/sydbolt...

Rhythmattic2971d ago

It just could be a good game...
Albeit Short, No multiplayer..............
I enjoyed the order @ $15.

BEASELY2971d ago

I would almost deem this proposition disresectful to the Uncharted name.

bleedsoe9mm2971d ago

qb is better than uncharted 1 and 3 not quite as good as uncharted 2

magiciandude2971d ago

Quantum Break is the Uncharted 1 of Xbox One. This has huge potential to become the next big franchise.

Eonjay2971d ago

Sam Lake said not to expect a sequel. The reason had to do with logistics of producing the live action segment.

IamTylerDurden12971d ago

Uncharted Drake's Fortune "Uncharted 1" was an 88 Metacritic.

Quantum Break (xbone's The Order 1886) is a 77 Metacritic.

QB isn't even close to any Uncharted game.

Do u honestly think QB 2 will be equivalent to Uncharted 2 (96 Metacritic)?

magiciandude2971d ago

@IamTylerDurden1

The Order 1886 is only 63 on Metacritic. If it's Xbox One's The Order 1886 then this is what The Order 1886 should've been. ;)

3-4-52971d ago

* Man Twinfinite asks some of the dumbest questions sometimes.

* I own a XB1...not a PS4.....and NO It's not even close to uncharted.

Why was this even written ? O yea...clicks.

IamTylerDurden12971d ago

Quantum Break is a 77 on Metacritic, how can it even be compared to ANY Uncharted/ND game?

Uncharted 2 = 96 Metacritic

Uncharted 3 = 92 Metacritic

Even Drake's Fortune was an 88, and that's considered to be the worst.

No comparison. QB is an average game, Uncharted is a legendary series.

Eonjay2971d ago

Truth be told, the title is just clickbait and it isn't actually what the video is about.

Really? I find the this new ip to be amazing and much more original than Uncharted!I think you and most of all the people on here actually haven't played the game...maybe you have but majority on here talking about it don't know jack shit cause they haven't even played it honestly.

Sure, it's not a master piece but from beginning to end I was blow away by this game multiple times, reviewers honestly didn't appreciate the level design that made you think or the characters/narrative.

I feel like today's gamers are being dumbed down and only appreciate good action with good level design but if the game doesn't have solid combat its like no one can appreciate nothing else in the game.

Every review i've seen spent so much time talking about how the combat is decent but at the same time not ground breaking but they hardly give notice to all the things it does right.

And I doubt naughty dog would have the balls to pull off what remedy has done with including a tv show in the game which actually is well made and of quality.

Edit*
I think Uncharted will be a better game and a great game at that but what I said was was that quantum break is more original than uncharted in terms of what it does and that's why I think It has potential to be a great franchise. So yes, I think Quantum break has the potential to be the Uncharted for Xbox because Uncharted is a great franchise.

For a lot of Groundbreaking IP's, they usually become great with their sequel. The order had the potential to be that.

Aloy-Boyfriend2972d ago

Naughty Dog doesn't have the ball to pull off an unnecesaty thing like merge a TV show with a game. This is video games, not TV. I agree with that

KwietStorm_BLM2972d ago

So then just let it be Quantum Break and be done with it.

killer_goat2972d ago

A third person shooter with time powers that have been used in loads of games before is not original. Also adding live action scenes is not new also.

mark_parch2972d ago

@killer_goat

no game in history has used live action on the same level as qb and i have never seen a time power in another game where you can create a time bubble and then stack bullets on it which all release at the same time. you would know these things if you had actually played the game. i finished it last night and thought it was amazing that said i think uncharted will be even better

Dirtnapstor2972d ago

Did anyone actually watch the video?!

Deep breath. The title of the article/video is misleading. They aren't comparing the two games to each other. They're ranting in silly form and that's about it. The Uncharted bit is just about how he's tired of the duck-shoot-run-cut scene formula.

nix2972d ago

Fries, i think your brain has been "dumbed down". Not all "ground breaking" game turns out to be great. Would you rather have a game like Crysis which is essentially a huge demo or Journey? Everything flashy does not make it a great game. After 2 hours you'll get bored. Why Transformers 3 or Matrix 3 was such a huge disappointment? Because it was all flash no soul.

Morgue2971d ago (Edited 2971d ago )

Dumbed down is right because you mean to tell me I can't climb up a parked moving van? I have too turn back time, freeze it, then run up some stairs and jump onto the van before it moves? Or not being able to climb up onto a loading dock but I can climb onto a dumpster then climb onto some crates then up a wall? ( This does happen in the game )

That's more like insulting my intelligence.

IamTylerDurden12971d ago

Everything Remedy did w/QB is so cliche and unoriginal. In 2007 Timeshift came out and even then people were claiming the concept was cliche. Timeshift even had better combat and mp.

The TV show idea was done years earlier by Defiance. Not only is it unoriginal, but it's universally viewed as low budget, gimmicky, and unnecessary.

I fail to see how QB is anything original. It sets up the vail of choice and then has only 1 ending? The combat mechanics are average and unoriginal, where does this game innovate?

In terms of visuals and storytelling ND innovates and sets bars that others simply can not reach. They push the medium forward, by default that makes Uncharted more innovative. Before Drake's Fortune i had never played a game that literally rivalled a blockbuster movie the way Uncharted did. The voice acting/performance capture, pacing, action, and visuals were unparalleled imo.

Nope. Uncharted 4 (from what I have seen so far) for lack of a better term, is in a league of its own.

What I have said might not sit well with some but do realise that I have completed 3 chapters of Quantum Break.

nX2972d ago

Really noone can compete with Naughty Dog at the moment.

I feel like Naughty Dog is the best studio in console gaming, by a mile. Sony Santa Monica is probably the next most impressive studio.

While CDPR are hot atm, they're mainly PC guys. If Cyberpunk hits like TW3 then CDPR will have a legitimate beef at the crown.

Games like QB and studios like Remedy are a tier down from the likes of gaming royalty. Decent, playable, mid 70's Metacritic games are a dime a dozen. Far better games that get far less attention (than QB) come out every week.

sammarshall1022972d ago (Edited 2972d ago )

I think most of what we've seen of Uncharted 4 in the latest videos with the stealth, tagging enemies, and the empty open world looks a lot like Metal Gear Solid 5

Quantum Break is an amazing game and is special how they combine puzzles, a great story, great combat and the TV show that you impact

Rimeskeem2972d ago

Did you just say Uncharted 4 is open world?

Smh

GrubsterBeater2972d ago

I swear... every time you post something it is hands down the dumbest thing I've read all day...

Trez12342972d ago

Metal gear solid 5 is a great game btw. Just didn't feel like a metal gear solid game.

BEASELY2971d ago (Edited 2971d ago )

There's open world, and then there's select open-ended levels. Learn to discern the two, thanks.

sammarshall1022971d ago

I know the game isn't open world it's still linear but the recent videos show it being a lot omore open in scope than the previous games

IamTylerDurden12971d ago

Open World Uncharted? In terms of gameplay and pacing, Uncharted is entirely different than MGS. Uncharted is summer blockbuster, pulp action, and MGS is weird Japanese inspired stealth.

Erik73572972d ago (Edited 2972d ago )

I agree that Uncharted will be better but you have to give props to quantum break for just being original and having a actual well made tv show that changes based on your decisions in the game....

I just feel like remedy takes more risk than naughty dog.

No other game developer would think of doing something like Alan wake or this.

I also think its unfair to compare Uncharted 4 to Quantum break because Uncharted 4 its the 4th iteration and refined version of Uncharted.....they have had like a decade to make the gameplay right for Uncharted while Quantum break is the first of the franchise so really if there was a fourth quantum break I would bet you money it would be pretty damn spectacular along the lines of Uncharted 4...because if you've seen the graphics/narrative you know Remedy can make well made narratives and games that look great.....the gameplay was the only weak point of Quantum break and that in itself is pretty good in my opinion as well. Its not amazing but it's of quality.

I understand that Uncharted 4's gameplay will be "amazing" but again like this is the 4th one coming from a great developer.....it better be damn amazing. It's not like it's a new IP or uncharted territory (pun intended).

I do think Naughty dog is a better developer but I don't like how people are acting like they are in "their own league" which I feel like is totally understating how good other games are and I think its just a bunch of fanboyish crap to say that.

killer_goat2972d ago

There is nothing original about quantum break

Condemnedman2972d ago

killer goat
there is nothing original in uncharted.

BEASELY2971d ago

By the fourth Quantum Break, Naughty Dog will have completed a Last of Us trilogy, which would retroactively slaughter everything.

Sorry man, but the Remedy of yor is no longer a top of the crop developer. Why can't you be ok with just labeling them as "a great developer."

You people just insist on trying to shoehorn Remedy into some type of face-off with ND that they're incapable of winning.

mark_parch2972d ago

@genuine-user

agree, but just to let you know qb story really comes together in chapter 4

Genuine-User2972d ago

Nice. I'm looking forward to it.

Genuine-User2971d ago (Edited 2971d ago )

You were right. I finished it about 30 minutes ago.

I really enjoyed the game. Will do a second play through soon.

esemce2972d ago

Yeah Naughty Dog are in a league of their own, sad to see Remedy fall so far but I can't respect a dev that tries to sell broken products like the PC version is.

Shame on them and Microsoft, I will NEVER support the cancer that is the Windows PC store.

QB is to Uncharted was Killzone was to Halo

Horyzon2972d ago

"QB is to Uncharted what Ryse was for God of War" Fixed

Erik73572972d ago (Edited 2972d ago )

Yea it does, at least for one of the games.

KIllzone 2 was good and my favorite but the others seemed just "average" to me...

Maybe it's because I was expecting something like halo and they just didn't appeal to me but Killzone Shadow Fall felt like a less in-depth COD game with pretty graphics....

I look at Horizon and it looks miles better of a game than the killzone games tbh....

NukaCola2972d ago

Halo and Halo 2 are top grade, Killzone 2 is also right up there. KZ3 and Mercenary are good. Shadow Fall and Halo 3 - 5 didn't really compare to the original. ODST was dope though.

babadivad2972d ago

KZ2 was top notch. Halo 2 was the pinnacle of Halo IMHO. But the campaign in Halo 3 was the most fun I've had playing Halo single player. Me and my bro raced to the end in separate warthogs. Ah, local co-op, how I miss you. . .

BEASELY2971d ago

Killzone 2 is one of the greatest games on PS3. Full-stop. What an amazing campaign and utterly chaotic multiplayer.

Single A games and live service games. Those make sense

S2Killinit73d ago

None of it makes sense. But its happening.

Ps5conehead73d ago

That’s up to Microsoft they want return on there investment. From buying up those publishers. That’s what there in business for. And they made a mistake putting day one exclusive on game pass. So now Microsoft wants to profit any way they can.its called buisness . Just like Sony putting games on pc a year are two after ps5 launch.
So if they can make money off PlayStation and Nintendo. They will do that. And I bet soon real soon they will release some aaa exclusives .and I bet one day it will be same day release

Friendlygamer73d ago

Some of these seem to be exclusive for lack of enthusiasm of the publisher rather than because of deals. A lot of cool indies skip ps for some reason like katana zero, el paso, elsewhere and gunbrela

S2Killinit73d ago

Even more indies skip xbox. We know that right?

Friendlygamer73d ago

Quality over quantity, Microsoft got some really interesting and curated niche games on their machines, maybe in part because of gamepass

S2Killinit73d ago

Quality and MS are not things you bring up in same sentence.

shinoff218373d ago (Edited 73d ago )

Alot of indies skip xbox to. It goes round and round. Personally I think your off base on that but no need to have the argument.

Friendlygamer73d ago

Between katana zero, valheim, Battletech, el passo... I don't feel off base. maybe ps got a million of light novel games that will never release on Xbox but like I've said, I'm talking about niche games highlights, the 10%.

Heck, it's probably thanks to Microsoft that the s.t.a.l.k.e.r games came to console ps included, meanwhile Sony backwards compatibility continues to be extremely anemic.

And I'm sure most ps5 users are happy to ignore these games and just play wathever new 3rd person action game is trending but it's cool that Microsoft gives some love to smaller audiences and software preservation

shinoff218373d ago

Again your off base just to be snide. All it's showing though is your ignorance.

One light novels wtf is that even. Ps has plenty of pretty damn good indies.

Speaking of indies and ms being responsible. You know F.I.S.T. of course you do alot of you guys just support gamepass. Well here's a history of Sony being responsible for helping indies. Look up the China project from Sony.

Lastly lol your ignorance showing again. Sony has plenty of games. Personally third person is better then first anyway but that's besides the point. Sony gets so many games that xbox doesn't get because yall don't support the games. Jrpgs being a great example. I personally am not into every Sony first party game. Alot of us aren't. On the other side you don't get to eat often so you gobble up everything. Me personally God of War not my cup, etc. For me I'm into jrpgs and ms just can't touch Sony on those. Again because the Xbox base doesn't support it. Devs dont wanna waste their time or money. Hit me up when falcom develops a game over there.

Speaking of third person narrative games. Aren't yall drooling over hellblade 2. The first one was Sony exclusive at one point. Another not my cup game. Showing we don't have to fall in line and agree we love everything Sony puts out. The facts are they sell though unlike elsewhere(not nintendo)

StormSnooper72d ago

You are same person as GamerRN, yes?

Abnor_Mal73d ago

They really think PlayStation fans would want to play Redfall? Pfft.

Personally nothing on that list would be any game I’d want to play.

TwoPicklesGood73d ago

I’d absolutely love Hellblade 2, Palworld, and Quantum Break on ps5 as I’m sure tons of others would too. There’s nothing wrong with wanting games from another console and its sad that people try to act like they aren’t interested in them.

shinoff218373d ago

While indont agree with the games. I agree with the point. Your not wrong.

DarXyde73d ago

Sunset Overdrive makes very good sense. Palworld might.

Don't know about the others. Hellblade II does make sense given the original launched on PS4 first. Quantum Break was a massive letdown for me. I absolutely hated the whole TV show thing and I don't think anyone should have to relive that on modern hardware.

Alan Wake 2 studio Remedy Entertainment has reclaimed the rights to Control, and now sci-fi hit Quantum Break deserves the same treatment.

Totally agree with that especially when Quantum Break has several references to Alan Wake and Alan Wake make allusions to QB.
I do believe that MS and Remedy can work things out and MS has usually been nice to devs and publishers regarding IP.

Obscure_Observer89d ago

They can't "reclaim" what was never theirs.

Petebloodyonion89d ago

I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP.

Lightning7789d ago

MS is not doin anything with it. Plus they're doing a multiverse of their own so Remedy needs the IP.

If MS wants to have exclusive let it be timed for 6 months then go to other platforms. MS seems to be, let's say, generous with some if their games as of late.

Or have QB2 be multiplat from the jump, put it on GP. Keeping QB2 as an exclusive is kinda weird these days.

Obscure_Observer89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

@Petebloodyonion

"I’m sure we can settle for purchase from MS the IP."

Good luck

@Lightning77

"MS is not doin anything with it."

Japan Studio is dead nd Sony isn´t doing anything with Bloodborne either! Yet I can 100% guarantee that there´s a far bigger demand for a sequel, remake or even a remaster for that game from both PS5 and PC gamers.

That been said, why don´t you ask Sony tol sell the IP to Fromsoftware now that according to rumors, they bought Elden Ring from Bandai?

ZwVw89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

Reclaim? That would mean that they actually owned the ip at one point, which they never did (MS always has). Apples & oranges. Remedy always owned the Control ip (just not the publishing), as they have with Alan Wake.

About as likely as them getting the Max Payne rights from Rockstar.

mastershredder89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

Sending you game to a publisher does not mean they get "rights to own it " unless that was part of the contract (monetary/ strategic reasons). 505 was the publisher they worked with to publish and distribute it, it dos not mean that 505 flat out "owned" anything, clearly they did have a special arrangement that made them open to limit their publishing rights. and so here we are and big whoop

Jingsing89d ago (Edited 89d ago )

Yeah get Quantum Break PS5, only if you put it on disc with all the associated movie material.

isarai89d ago

I mean they got the Alan Wake IP back from MS, so I feel like they could get QB back as well
