They are certainly in a race for 2nd place at this stage because regardless of what happens in the US now Sony just gain every week and every month from Eu and Japan, regions they are pretty much unopposed in.

Japan is a big market for the wiiu. No doubt bigger for 3ds but bigger for the wiiu than america. Sux but it is what it is.but we both can agree the Xbox ain't doing great in any market. Which sux competitively as whole,

Will Uncharted 4, Halo 5, The Order: 1887, Gears of War IIII, Bloodborne, Sunset Override, Rime, etc, God Of War IIII, will these PS4 and XB1 exclusives even cross the bar that Bayonetta 2 smeared all over their faces ? .

just like what happened with Madworld, Sony PS3 nor the 360 could find a more Gory Adult exclusive to outshine madworld for the kiddy wii, making the Nintendo Wii the bloodiest goriest console ever made compared to 360 ps3 lol . .

and now Bayonetta 2 has set the mark for ps4 XB1 ..

but unfortunately for Sony, Uncharted games do not cross the boundaries of imagination. Sticking withing the laws of physics is not all that creative, not much brain work, so not deservant of THE winner, Uncharted games . . especially not the LOU lol

I am a gamer and I don't see a point in this, I won't get any benefit from knowing witch console is in what place, that won't bring me money in my pocket or new games

How about...Each company deliver the content their fanbase desires? Why talk about the semantics of sales. All platforms offer competitive options for every enthusiastic gamer at heart. Conversation about title to video starts at 22:00 btw.

If we will talk about race we should talk about quality of exclusives games......saying that the third place is without discutions for PS4.

Xbox One will gain second place. Third parties will prove too much for Nintendo, they simply can't (or won't) make the games 3rd parties are making. They won't have COD/BF, Fallout, Elder Scrolls, Sports Games, realistic racing games (outside of Project Cars), to name a few. I'm sure there are at least 10 million people out there who had one of those games as a deciding factor last or even current gen. Nintendo certainly can gain a portion of those people, but there's a consumer base they're missing out on.

Of course this says nothing about how stellar Nintendo exclusives are an will be. Already it has or will have its racer (Mario kart 8 and soon to be Project Cars as well), mature action game (Bayonetta 2), Platformers, 3rd person shooters, fighting game (Smash Bros) and open world RPG (Xenoblade X). How much these games can capture the needed consumers to make an extended strike against Xbox One, I'm not sure.

Funny how xbone fans say sales don't matter this gen when it was all the rage last gen, even though the 360 still ended up being last lol.

I honestly dont see Nintendo getting second place with extremely poor 3rd party support. Doesn't mean the Wii U isn't a good console because if it wasn't I wouldn't be planing to buy one with Zelda.

Lets see in the red corner you have a company that's selling games systems like hotcakes and is on the verge of bankrupt. Losing billions and billions of dollars a year.

In the blue corner you have s company that can only sale consoles by chopping there price down by $150.00 dollars and removing apiece of its equipment in order to gain market share.

In the white corner we have a company who came out a year ago who had no advertisement, 3rd party support, and who is in danger of dropping to 3rd in far as system sold.

These companies all have faults but only one is making money and it's not Microsoft and it's not Sony so who is true winner.

Judging from monthly sales, Nintendo doesn't stand a chance even considering a year head start. Plus with all the super bundles and price drop, and lastly the MCC, they are going to get blown out the water. I don't see Super Smash Bros outselling Halo.
