Which Console is Best for GTA IV? - Part 1

MCV asked infinite Field Marketing Solutions to go North of the boarder and ask retailers the question everyone in games is talking about: 'Which console is best for GTA IV?' And not only did they agree, but they supplied them with a handy rating for every store they visited.

Well, if 3 store clerks in the UK think you should buy the PS3 version, who am I to argue? Even if their reasons have little to do with GTA4 and more to do with upcoming PS3 titles.

Guess it's time to take back the 360 version, buy a PS3 and get the PS3 version.

...it was 4 clerks recommending it for the 360 and 2 for the PS3. So it's me heading back to return it. I'll just have to get used to DVDs again.

the GAME retailer was claimed to have recommended the X360 version.

The game retailer said x360 version was SOLD OUT??? that was the only reatiler which claimed that the SALES ratio wasnt EVENLY SPLIT

However please look at GAME's sales charts

even GAMESTATION which promotes the x360 version says this:-

Pre-orders had been an even split across both consoles, but the store assistant recommended the PlayStation 3 saying: “The PS3 has so much further potential, the Xbox 360 has reached its peak”

also no interview of HMV/PLAY??? second and 3rd biggest stores of UK

NOTE :- even the SE version of GTA4 x360 are available in huge quantities at GAME

Jesus Christ, please let it go with your constant GTA compairing and trying to justify the version you think is better. Just go and f-ing play the damn game and stop trying to ruin it for other people by constantly downplaying the 360 version spreading complete cr@p about it.

I have no probs with that.

It is available because stores get much more copies of 360 games than PS3 games.

Example: a store gets 10 Xbox copies and 2 PS3 copies. Xbox sells 6 copies, and has 4 available. PS3 sells 2 copies, and it is sold out. OMG PS3 GTA is TEH solD OuT!!

If you look at teh preorder charts then PS3 version is outgunning the x360 version

It is not because x360 version has more shipment

It is because no one buys the x360 version

x360 is the least selling console in UK . in other parts of europe it is non-existent

even with a price cut it got outsold by PS3 by as much as 40% during the week of its price cut

It isn't rocket science to see that 360 has more units out there. It also isn't rocket science to notice that anybody who lives anywhere near any popular retail stores, or anyone who reads almost any type of website knows about GTA 4. Everybody wants GTA 4! 360 has more people that can buy it though so its actually pretty clear...

You can see by the level of work the SDF (Sony Defense Fishheads) like Nasim/Shadow Hearts are trying so hard with every article here today to downplay the 360 version.

Dude the PS3 will have the best version of MGS4 for sure! But thats ok cause ill be playing "Happy Xbox Owner 2: I Dont Really Give a Sht". Its been getting rave reviews.

Nobody bought consoles. Everyone just bought a copy of GTA IV for whatever console they owned. Most owned an XBOX 360. I live in the United States.

I would say that the 360 version outsold the PS3 version atleast 3-1 that night from what I saw.

But again, nobody bought consoles.

I saw similar numbers perhaps, I dont know about 3 or even 2 to 1, but my local Gamestore said they've probably sold more 360 units. But thats one store & I'm in the US... I think the PS3 version will outsell 360 in Europe, if I had to guess. I didnt ask about consoles, but like u, i didnt see ppl lining up with consoles in their hands = lol....

i bought my PS3 in BROAD DAYLIGHT, with my big black roommate for backup(i'm just a little black guy, not very intimidating. lol).

there's no way in hell i would have bought my PS3 that late at night and by myself.

in either case, i agree with you that the 360 will probably outsell the PS3 version. in the US. i'm not too sure about the rest of the world (ie, the UK and Australia).

it doesn't matter ultimately, GTAIV is finally here, and instead of folks running out and buying it, they're complaining about it on the internet.

i'm online, because i'm at work, and i need SOMETHING to do to take my mind off of GTAIV until i can get home to play it...oh, wait...crap.

but I've played the PS3 version for at least 7 hours now and have not had a single hitch in framrate, no pop-ups, and no screen tearing. Performance cannot be any better on 360 or PC because it's been flawless so far. What's better than prefect? Anyway, this is from an 80GB PS3.

I completely agree. No pop-in, no frame-rate issues, no RROD, and best of all, I get to keep my home without 3rd degree burns!
