No "specific release date" for 360 UT

Epic's Mark Rein has re-confirmed that he erm, cannot confirm a solid release date for Unreal Tournament III on Xbox 360.

"We don't have a specific release date yet," the Epic VP told CVG, in response to magazine reports to the contrary. "Right now we're finishing up the European PS3 version."

It was released on the PlayStation 3 last month in North America but there's still no European date and no word on how much lead Sony will have over the Xbox 360 version.

The only lead that the PS3 version will have on the 360 version is what MS give them.
It'll be interesting to see how much MS dig their feet in on this mods issue and allowing user content.

exactly...this is all MS's doing...if they open it up, there will most likely be a 360 UT3 before the end of Spring...if not...who knows...

this game is growing on me like crazy though...I liked it from the beginning...but I am safely addicted...I am finally finding out all the crazy ass stuff each vehicle has (been in a Leviathan yet with 4 other dudes?...holy shat...its crazier than a fully loaded dropship in warhawk)...

I have finally gotten used to health packs again...in Q3 and earlier UT games I would memorize where the health was before the weapons...but for the past 3 years I haven't been playing much of anything that didn't have some sort of health regen system...its nice to get back to stealing kills constantly...can't wait for some mods though...and also to figure out just what is going on with the Midway servers...sometimes there are over 10 per game type, and others there are like 3 in deathmatch only...doesn't make sense, but so far those are the only servers to be entirely lagless in warfare with 16 players...and most maps are too big for 8 player warfare...

yeah, I'm waiting for it to come out in the UK....really looking forward to it as I think I over did it on COD4 during the break.

I'm just saying that MS have full control over this matter, so its up to them how this plays out.

They really hurt themselves by not releasing this on the Xbox 360 at the same time as the PS3, this game bombed pretty hard especially compared to the success Epic just had a little over a year ago when they partnered with Microsoft for the Xbox 360 for Gears of War.

I think that the hype for this game is dead now and that the 360 version will not sell anywhere near the potential it could have had for both Epic and Midway.

I played the hell out of UT2k4 on PC but honestly I dont really have any plan to purchase UT3 or give it another look

It's time to move on and get to work on Gears of War 2, which will easily sell millions

Mass Effect had a world wide release, and sold over a milion after its first week. This game was released only in the US and it has sold over 300, 000 copies since. Mind, you this is only in the US with a user base of about 3.50 Million., I say, thats pretty darn good.

I played this game at a friends house, it definitly fun, but its funner on pc since you actually have a keyboard and mouse(which you can use on ps3 but usually the game is for pc as well if it plays well with k&m), on controller its kinda hard.

I bought it too and I'm having a blast playing so far. I don't think the wait for the 360 will be beyond 6 months.

I've only seen 1 commercial for UT3 so far it could use more advertisement.

i love unreal tourney and have been in love since 2004 but i think the lack of publicity for the game has made way for low interest for it oh well me and other UT fans will be playing it anyway (when i can pull myself away warhawk that is)

Obviously they will want to hold off for as long as they can announcing the date for the 360 version because then people would not want to get the PS3 or PC versions & most would end up just waiting for the 360 version.

Well, at least it sounds as if the EU version of UT3 for PS3 will be a more complete version straight out of the box.

I dont see the point of releasing UT3 on the 360; Im sure that 360 owners would rather have Gears 2.

Give your head a shake even Master Chief would love this game.......

Heres hoping the 360 version sees full mod support (n right out the gate unlike us ps3 owners who are still waiting to b able to cook our own)

\\factoid: word is Sony's blocking full mod support for ut3 presently. (according to Midway...)

Edit:well ya but who knows Midway's says their pushing 4 full access on the 360... But they said we had it for sure on the ps3 so far thats utter bull (full mod support doesnt mean just what they chose to recook either)
Guess imma a little pissed my ps3 copy of of ut3 wont take the mods Im making for it with the pc copy i bought...
Kinda want me money back now sigh....

14 - my 360 only owning friends dont care about ut3.

basically they say halo 3 and cod4 are better anyway (as reviews show) so why would they want ps3 sloppy seconds.
i will get the pc version (its cheaper and supports all mods)

i think for ut3 to do well on 360 it has to be noticeably better than the ps3 version.
