Dark Messiah: Elements Demo on Xbox Live

Newly available on the Xbox Live Marketplace this morning is a demo for Dark Messiah of Might and Magic: Elements. The 689MB download includes single-player and multiplayer content.

The 360 version has a new lock-on feature, tweaked level design and game statistics. There are also three previously unreleased single-player levels and multiplayer maps, with new objectives, gameplay, and rewards.

Elements will be released February 5.

1 - Its not very good.

The frame rate is poor, so much so that it gave me a headache after 5 mins.
The graphics are not even close to Oblivions.
The fireball spell does quite a bit of damage but looks like a firefly.

Overall its a big disappointment.

4.1 - Wrong.....

Hardly a disservice.... Paying customers get preffered gold status... silver members merely have to wait one week. Demo's come to all. Heck silver members probably will still get demos to them faster than PSN members given the track record of demos released to live vs how long it takes them to come to PSN.

Quite being a fanboy and preaching and just talk about the game already.

....now I am off to download the demo. ;)

Huh? The game isnt the Best Ever AAA(TM), but it certainly isnt "awful".

The gaming indsutry give it a average of 7.2/10 at Metacritic. That's pretty darn respectable. And, fans of the action/RPG genre may darn well like the game very much. So instead of blasting a game you've never played, why dont you go back to your PS3 and play something.

For the Xbox community that's already played the demo, should I honestly download this? I see there's some PS3 fanboys flocking to the thread...God knows why...but for the Xbox community, should I try it out or is it really not worth a shot?

7 - The game was well received over a year ago on the PC and it's definitely something different.

It's not really an RPG, but it's an FP action game with RPG elements. To me, the game looks and feels rather dated. It's a year old PC port and it definitely shows.

Still, I rather like it but I wouldn't spend 60 bucks on it. I'd try out the demo, why not.

Yeah d/l the demo but dint try it yet, playing cod4 online. Nowadays the speeds have imporved cuz of gold members getting one week advantage.

10 - I liked the demo...

I agree the graphics are not COD4 good, and the framerate was neither great or terrible, but if you are a fantasy buff, it is unlike any game ever available for the 360. The environments and levels are interesting - and using the rope bow is a really cool idea.

Imagine the combat you wanted in Oblivion. - Kicking a guy backwards then hitting him while he's stunned is great.

Make no mistake - this is a FPS - but with swords/spells/bows and arrows. It is linear.

It certainly is worth a download unless you hate the fantasy theme. Try it and form your own opinion.

Also - the demo says the game releases January 10.
