This is going to be one of the best games of 2008, mark my words. It will get nothing but 9 and 10s and will be the best Burnout in the series ever.

is an understatement for me.. I loved that game on xbox 1, I played and played and if this one is anywhere as good as that one was, then I expect I will be doing a lot of gaming in Dec.

Criterion made the game. So EA has nothing to do with it.
Criterion is British based company and the brits are the best at developing games. I no doubt am sure this burnout paradise will be a hit.

Criterion is dedicated to this series as we have seen in the past. They may have had their ups and downs but none of the series games were bad or blemished by EA. I just want to see Criterion get to work on the next BLACK now that they have nearly wrapped up Burnout.

4 - Looking forward to this one!

I'm surprised to hear a demo is coming so early, can't wait to play it though! From what I've read it sounds like it's going to be quite "free-form", in that you drive around the city doing events as you find them. Does anyone know for sure if that's the case?

If so it might be a little weird, I love Burnout but half the fun has been to try and "Perfect" one set of events before moving on to the next. If you simply mooch around doing stuff here and there it's hard to see how they'll have a similar structure...

i've only really played burnout legends on my psp and i really enjoyed it - hope this is going to be good, but i do fear for the whole "free-roaming" idea - sometimes games need a bit of direction to keep them fun - if this game isnt done right it could be a lot of travelling between competitions/events, which would suck.

7 - Woo hoo!!!!

Demo is going to be so awesome and if you listen to their podcast they mention it will have online capabilities. Here's a link to the latest podcast but I also recommend listening to all their podcasts because they give a lot of information and answer a lot of questions about the game. You might like a fan submitted question to the devs on whether they should buy a PS3 for this game or stick to their Xbox 360. I'm sure it's on episode 12 (the latest) or on ep 11.

I'm so glad this game was developed on the PS3. Xbox fans will have to settle for a port but you guys won't be disappointed since you will have achievements, XBL and the game will have no side-effects like all Xbox 360 games ported to the PS3 have had in this year alone.

EDIT: The game is free roaming and has some interesting aspects to it. Again, listen to their podcasts.

10 - WOW, Burnout has never been a series i enjoted

on the playstation. and the fact that it was a yearly series made it all the more reason why i never turned the block of my eye on any of it's titles in the series that and that i never liked anything from criterion besides black. but when i saw burnout paradise last year i thought damn what a game... and thought maybe i'll give criterion some love in january, but then reading and seeing the impressions that that 1up, and IGN and various have said about it and how seemless the online mode is going to be i said i need a demo so i can support them. if it hits next thursday i'm going to be all over this title and then when it hit's in january i'll be racing with my PSN buddies, i cant wait, as long as the give them dedicated servers this game will shine on the PS3, and the 360 will be great too .

I don't like the sound of the free roaming stuff don't like not being able to learn a course especially with burnout being so fast corners will just come out of nowhere

But if they made crash mode editable and able to send to other people then I'm in.
