Man.. i was a menber at gamespot for a good 4 years now if not more..and let me tell you Mr Gerstmann going, is not a good news..he was the best in every show they done..man...this s*cks..

yea pretty crazy if ture. I'm sure Eidos had to close some of those threads for I'm sure there were plenty of slandering topics and statements. I think it's nearly impossible to have a civil argument with most gamers. Still doesn't look good though

I won't ever buy an Eidos game... Well, I never have but that's just beside the point. I really won't now... and I don't even care about Jeff, Gamespot or the situation. I just hate Eidos, Ubi-soft, THQ, EA sports and a whole host of other devs so I always look for easy outs.

If this is true, then it can be presumed M$ has paid off Gamespot before / currently to give such crappy reviews to Sony games. How can you trust a source that fires its employees (Editors), because of advertisement dollars. All previous Gamespot reviews of games comes into question.

They have been nothing more than a site paid for by advertisement dollars for as long as I can remember. It's better to trust sites that do not rely on advertisement dollars, especially when the dollars are clearly from the game publishers that are getting their games reviewed.

I know he works for Gamespot, but what happened to freedom of speech? Yes, I know GS relies on the money of advertisers, but a bad game is a bad game. Also, it's just his opinion. Gametrailers gave this game an 8.0. It's not like he insulted IO or Eidos. They (Eidos) need to realize that K&L isn't Hitman or Tomb Raider. Sounds like K&L should've joined the long list of delayed games.

The video review reflects the game. Eidos just mad over their expensive campaign on Gamespot and then slaughtered by a Gamespot reviewer :P

Its about time stories like this broke out. Soon enough all will see that reviewers DO get stuff for free if they give certain scores. These gaming sites should know better. A major part of their business is reviews and if they cannot be trusted they are going to lose major business.

The best and most honest reviewer that website had was Gregg something (at least I think his name was Gregg). He was the bald dude who wore glasses. Anyway, he left because of the websites direction. Hence now everyone hates GS for their biased reviews to favor M$ instead of gaming.

I'm not happy Gerstmann lost his job, or anyone losing their job for that matter but that guy had his head so far up the devil's ass(M$), that I'm sure now he realises that when you play with the big boys sometimes you lose. In this case he lost his job. Maybe he thought M$ would have his back.

Sad cause I used to like GS, and Game Trailers too, but those to companies are for ever corrupted by good ol' M$. Now I don't ever think twice about visiting those sites.

Eidos are a bunch of lazy LOSERS anyway,...just like the XBOTS....AHAHAHAHAHA

If this turns out to be true and GS fires their reviewers for not favoring/bashing certain games, expect others to come forward with similar claims from different websites. I am sure this isnt an isolated event and many people on these forums have been screaming conspiracy since the PS3 came out. I havent said too much about it because I really didnt think gaming websites that depend on reviews and previews would be so stupid as to favor games because advertisers say so.

I think gamespot forgot that the reason they have a website in the first place is because people visit it. they should accomodate the vistors not the advertisers and they just may find this out the hard way. Anyway, we shall see what their official statement is (it will never state that they are paid off by advertisers btw) and then judge for ourselves the validity of that statement. However, I must say that this stain will forever follow gamespot and may actually prove to be a larger problem than just GS. Like I said, expect others to say something (anonymously of course lol) if its going on on other websites. I can guarantee the reviewers dont like being told what to say. They may just jump on the wagon and start making claims about the bias of the websites.

Until all the facts are out, nobody can say for sure what happened. I would love to hear from Jeff Gertsmann though...I think it would be rather eye opening in terms of what his point of view on it is. After all...he knows the truth too.

I bet you 10 to 1 Jeff wont say anything. Probably got a hefty sum and a good merit thing to "Quit because he was tired of it and wanted something new" at another "Undisclosed" game company. This will go away like so much other bad press in this industry... Oh well at least its not hollywood.... yet....

Kane & Lynch reminds me of the Getaway series. They both have really poor shooting (stiff sensitivity, inaccurate gunfire, broken covering and upclose combat) and healing (long waiting periods that strain against the players patience) mechanics for a game that is all about shooting. They both have a sloppy story about a guy who has to pull off missions against his will until he can get his revenge (their wives are murdered and their children are held hostage). Neither game has a back bone (who are these people and what the hell led up to this point?) nor likable characteristics whatsoever. Both games just consist of you killing cookie cutter cops and civilians and saying sh*t and f*ck whenever possible. I absolutely hated this game, which is disappointing since I'm sort of a fan of Hitman. It's a 6 hour game, so rent at your own discretion.

As a hardcore gamer this is a sad day, The game industry is corrupt. I knew things were bad when Halo3 was given the tag of greatest game ever made, it was average and any intelligent gamer knew something was amiss with 10's flying around (no game should ever get a 10). Edios demanding a good review or else pulling the cash cow from Gamespot?

I am gob smacked every review now is worthless, the games industry has killed off all credibility, how can we still support these people? its bordering on fraud, false information and reviews given to the gaming masses.

I will not be buying ANY EDIOS games again and have already cancelled my Gamespot subscription. A sad day for all gamers today.
