Gearbox: Medal of Honor "in trouble"

Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford has described Brothers in Arms competitor Medal of Honor as a franchise "in trouble".

"It's a great franchise, and a lot of people love it, but I think somebody really needs to get hold of that franchise who cares about the subject matter and understands what the real promise and the fantasy is", Pitchford told CVG today at a press event in London.

EA's Medal of Honor series blew gamers' socks off when Allied Assault launched on PC, but the series has never experienced the same accolade since.

I loved the MOH games for the original Playstation. Those were by far my favorite ones. Now all of the MOH games that came for the PS2 sucked except Front Line in my opinion. But Brothers in Arms was a great game.

It's EA what do you expect? Plus please leave WWII alone for a while. I love the war games, but sometimes a little ingenuity goes a long way and it's time to get some new ideas I.E. COD4

Come on guys, EA did wonders for PC gaming specially online MP games like BF series. They might hv released turds on ps3 but 360 and PC are where their love is. I'll buy any installment of BF for either PC or 360. Bad Company and BF3 ftw

yea well, thats because infinity ward made the game...only they werent known as infinity ward until they made their own company and started call of duty : http://www.gamespot.com/pc/...

EA is just garbage...the only nextgen EA game i have is fight night round 3...and i only want one other game from EA and thats skate, other than that theres really no reason for me to buy any other EA games

8 - My two cents...

If a WWII is really solid then I will play it. I dont think that WWII games are played out, but I do think that the WWII Shooter / RTS games are way played out! Now before you bash me...I do realize that pretty much all WWII games are shooters and RTS. What I mean is most of the WWII games are just the same thing over and over these days. There isnt much going on in terms of innovation or quality story telling, etc.

Brother in Arms:HH better come with the goods! I LOVED the first one...and am really hoping they pull this off.

WWII needs its own version of Gears of War...a different perspective and new look to the shooter would be way welcome. A spy game would be great... ala splinter cell in WWII. A medic game could be interesting...you are the medic, you have to go out in combat and perform EMT type tasks while taking fire, etc...

Come on developers! Use your imagination!
